Help! I've been taking Naproxen off & on for a complaint in my hands & they give me such awful stomach cramps & seen to cause me to be more tired & lose concentration etc that I stop taking them & just suffer the pain in my hands as its less bother than the aparant side effects from the Naproxen. I took Naproxen for three days for an ankle sprain. The first two days were fine, but on the third day I ended up in urgent care because of the side effects: splitting headache, dizziness, terrible rash, elevated pulse and stomach cramps. Needless to say I stopped taking Naproxen. The next day I was much improved, but still had the headache, dizziness and elevated pulse. Since then, things have been more or less the same. Sometimes the headache and dizziness are terrible, sometimes mild. My pulse is always elevated, but sometimes by a lot. On the 12th day after stopping Naproxen, I had a blackout. It's now been 16 days since I stopped Naproxen, and I'm concerned that it's gone beyond the point of waiting for the drugs to clear my system. Unfortunately, I'm really broke r...

Am I going to feel anything from this? Can I drive.? Any side effects I should be concerned with? ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Naproxen sodium (550 mg). Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug commonly used for the reduction of moderate to severe pain, fever, inflammation and stiffness. I personally don't think it is so intense that you would be unable to function or operate machinery, but I would honestly recommend asking a physician or the doctor who prescribed it to you for clarification on that, as 550 mg is one of the higher doses of Naproxen that I've seen. For more information about this drug, please refer to the link below... If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you.

What type of pain relievers would I be able to take for the side effect(headaches) when taking Lisinop Hctz for my hypertnsion? ## You may want to check with your doctor, to be on the safe side, before taking anything, but I know when I was taking those and even continuing now, with my other blood pressure medications, my doctor has instructed me to only use Acetaminophen/Tylenol. I also checked the interactions database and there is nothing listed that it can cause a problem, when used with the Lisinopril-HCTZ. In most cases, when you have hypertension, they want you to stay away from the NSAIDs, such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen, because they can actually cause fluid retention, which can lead to other medical issues, such as Congestive Heart Failure. Are there any other questions?

Can naproxen sodium 550mg help with uti infection pain while peeing? I was trying to see if it lessens the pain. ## It might help a little, but you would likely get more relief from Phenazopyridine, it is available over the counter in most drug stores. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, discolored urine, and stomach pain. However, it is specifically used to alleviate the burning and pain that occurs with a UTI. You may want to look for it, if your doctor approves of you trying it. Are you also on an antibiotic?
