Hi. I have been taking warfarin for 4 months. Prior to my PE when landing home from a long flight I was very active running and swimming every day. Since the attack every muscle and many leg joints ache all the time. Is this a side effect from medication? Thanks. ## The symptoms you're experiencing may be the sign of a possibly serious side effect of the medication. Learn more Warfarin details here. Have you consulted your doctor? ## haha sounds about right I have spoken to the doc and he said take pain killers, dont know what else I expected from him ,, will only be on warfarin for 8 more weeks ,so then maybe the pain will go ,just seems to be the lower half of thr body,,and getting spasams in the calfs,,, dont know how they decide if things are ok ,when I had the P E , was told t...

I'm 63 and was admitted 4 weeks ago to ICU in a Pretoria Hospital and for the first time was diagnosed with hi BP and irregular heart beat from 50 to 148 and a problem in the lower heart chambers. They repair a valve and Adco Bisocor 5mg was prescribe for the high BP and Arycor 200 for the irregular heart beat and Warfarin to regulate the blood thickness and Aspavor 20mg for cholesterol. From the time I was discharge upto today I haven't slept more than 2hrs at a time because of terrible muscle pains. I've just retired 3months ago and my Dr is 1250 km's away and the closest other Dr is 120km's away, is it the Adco Bisocor or Aspavor, both mention muscle pains. My pulse vary from 50 to 57. This was my first time ever in a hospital or any serious sickness. ## Hello, Ha...

The neck stiffness started while on Xarelto. After switching to Eliquis is the pain spread throughout my body. Into my back, my hips, my legs, the back of my knees, just throughout my whole body. I cannot sleep at night nor can I hardly move during the day. I am desperately looking for an alternative to any of these blood thinners. it seems like no one can really give me the correct combinations off supplements. I am open for any suggestions. thank you so very much! ## Hello, Sam! How are you? There really is no combination of supplements that can be guaranteed to work. Some are known to cause blood thinning, but no testing has been done to show that they are as effective as actual drugs used for that purpose. Have you ever tried Warfarin/Coumadin? Many people manage to take it, without...

I take Warfarin, Amlodipine, Indapamide, Glipizide & Lipitor. Can I also take Cyclobenzaprine for muscle pain? ## Have they all been prescribed for you? The FDA warns that you may experience more side effects than usual, if you take them together, which could include more severe, nausea, dizziness, headache, and dry mouth. How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects?

I’ve been on 20mg once a day for year and a half. I feel tired all the time, my whole body hurts, I have indigestion off and on, I have itching under my arms. I have muscle spasms and joint pain and the only thing I take is Tylenol which really does not do A lot for me. I was on warfarin before and I really didn’t notice any side effects. It’s very depressing to feel this way. Anyone else experience this? ## The FDA does list those as being possible side effects of Xarelto. You may also experience nausea, easy bruising, and increased risk of bleeding. NDC code: 50458-580 If you weren't having problems with Warfarin, why did your doctor have you switch? Have you informed them of these issues to see if it would be better for you to try a different medication, or perh...

I've been on Aggrenox for 10 months and I'm severely anemic and getting iron infusions! I believe the aspirin in it causes bleeding. I cant take Plavix, so I don't know what they're going to put me on. I have muscle and joint problems too. ## What do you take it for? Specifically to prevent stroke, or just as a blood thinner? If it is just as a blood thinner, there may be other options, such as Warfarin. ## I take it to prevent a stroke, had one in Jan 2010, and while on plavix had a tia in July 2011, then Dec 2011 had a stroke to my optic nerve in my right eye! I do not want to be on a blood thinner, had my 4th infusion yesterday and got 5 more to go! Aggrenox makes my muscles weak, there has to be something else that doesn't make you anemic? scared to go off of cau...

Not and latey my periods have been normal I scares me A bit is there achanc the Eliquis is not working ## Hello, Tammy! How are you? There's always a chance that any given medication will not work for someone, that's why there are usually several options to try in any given therapeutic category. Have you had any of the other side effects, such as nausea, headache, joint/muscle pain or easy bruising? Your doctor would be the best judge. ## I had been on Xarelto 20mg for almost a year when I was switched to Eliquis 5mg. Reason for meds was dvt i...

My hematologist wants to switch me off warfarin for one of these three medications - Eliquis, Pradaxa, or Xarelto. I have a history of CVT and a chronic blood condition. Bottom line, whatever he switches me to, I'm likely on it for a long time unless I have complications. But that's the thing. I seem to always be the person who has the ultra-rare side effect that no one ever reads on the fact sheet. So I'm asking, which of these three is tolerated the best? While I've been on warfarin I've gained nearly 60 lbs. I'm vegan. I ride centuries (100mi bike rides). As a result of all the weight gain, other health issues are becoming more pressing. Arthritis, muscle aches, the threat of diabetes, not to mention what it's done to my self-esteem and marriage. I have ab...
