I was given 90 vicoprofen for chronic back pain. Ive ran out in 12 days. Can i uae hydrocodone 5-500 until my refill this week? Doesnt seem strong ## Hello, Drakee! How are you? It would be best not to do so, unless your doctor approves. The 5/500 Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen is probably close to being equivalent to the 7.5/200 Hydrocodone/Ibuprofen, however. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I usually take norcos 7.5 & 10mg. I take 3-4 at a time so roughly about 40mg at a time...are these vicoprophen just like the norcos or different and how? ## Vicoprofen contains Hydrocodone and Ibuprofen (200mgs), rather than the Acetaminophen that Norco contains. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. That is a lot of Acetaminophen to take, at once. You should not exceed 1,000mgs per dose, every 8 hours, or as warned by the NIH, you may experience liver damage, or failure. i started 3 months ago taking teva's vicoprofen before having steroid injections (back and hip)...taking 2 daily split in half didn't want to be taking more than necessary to kill pain all was fine....pain wise.....injections did not last for me but a few weeks....most pain is back so began taking 1 a day split and went to my pcp for other problem and she talked to me about staying out of pain longer so gave me enough for 2 a day so i would be out of pain thru the night instead of just while at work until i got the needed hip replacement which will be a while for i am trying other things to possibly avoid one........got them filled and noticed immediately i wasn't getting relief like i was and here i am taking more.....third day i happened to have my reading glasses on when ...

My adult daughter is in pain management. She takes her medicine as prescribed usually with a few left over as she has a few extra for really bad days. She recently tested negative for her own meds 2 months in a row. She had complained sometimes they weren't helping, around the same time her dad moved back. I strongly believe he was switching at least some of her pills out. I asked about markings and she said they didn't look like they were the same color and size. What are the side effects of Vicoprofen? ## I was given vicoprofen several years ago for pain. After taking it for a month, I only had to take a pill once a week. There since has been controversy about it being a narcotic, so now I am just given ultracet. I have been in constant every since. If I miss a dose of ultracet I can hardly function because the pain is too overwhelming. I recently had my appendix burst on me, and the surgeon can't do the surgery until the swelling and inflammation goes down to an acceptable level. Also put me on Ertapenam iv daily infusion to keep bacterial infection away. I have a prescription for vicoprofen 7.5/200, but my insurance company will only approve 50 per month! The prescription is for every 4 hrs as needed. I am wondering if this script is eligible for the mail order prescription that I can get with all of my other meds, or no , because it is a controlled substance/ opioid ? And just how expensive would it be to pay out of pocket for the remainder of that which my insurance won't cover ? Thanks

I have been taking Vicoprofen for over a year now for chronic pain, back disk degen, Major lung surgery.. If you have been taking generic there are a huge difference in effectiveness between brands.. the best brand (generic is Qualitest sold at walgreens and all the others are not half as effective.. If you take something every day you expect it to work..I know there all suppose to contain the same but i believe there are fda standards that are the minimum but these companies want to get there cost down by using safe acceptable generic medications but the quality is not there in several generics..I have decided to try the name brand on my next refill because every time i get stuck with one of the generics like andrx,teva,watson and when you explain why you would like a certain generic y...

My doctor recently changed my prescription from 5 / 200 vicoprofen to norco 7.5 / 325. I have one pill left of my 5 / 200 vicoprofen. They are both pretty much equivalent, so one likely won't help more than the other. The Acetaminophen in the 5/325 makes it about the same as the 7.5/200, which contains Ibuprofen with the Hydrocodone. ## what is it ## Vicoprofen is a combination Narcotic/Anti Inflammatory NSAID medication. It will contain both Vicodin and Ibuprofen in varying amounts depending on what your Doctor Prescribed. If it states 5/200 the first number will indicate mg of Vicodin and the second number will indicate mg of Ibuprofen. This medication is not prescribed very often and is used as an unusual combination when other methods of pain control are not working. It may also be prescribed with other medications to assist in reducing moderate/severe pain.

VICODIN MIXED WITH IBPROPHEN ## Vicoprofen Info Click Here It is not Vicodin mixed with Ibuprofen, as Vicodin is, in itself, Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, so this is Hydrocodone 7.5mgs and Ibuprofen 200mgs.
