I recently experienced an insect bite on the back of my hand, which has led to swelling. My doctor has prescribed Trolic 5mg for me. Could anyone share insights on what exactly this medication does? Additionally, as I am currently on antiretrovirals (ARVs), I'm concerned about how effective Trolic will be in conjunction with my ongoing treatment. Any information or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. ## Trolic (Prednisone) is used alone or with other medications to treat the symptoms of low corticosteroid levels (lack of certain substances that are usually produced by the body and are needed for normal body functioning). Prednisone is also used to treat other conditions in patients with normal corticosteroid levels. These conditions include certain types of arthritis;...

Also, what is the difference between Trolic 5mg and Prednisone 5mg? ## What is the difference between Trolic and Prednisone? Based on my research, Trolic is simply a brand/trade name for Prednisone. According to MedlinePlus, “Prednisone is used alone or with other medications to treat the symptoms of low corticosteroid levels, as well as certain types of arthritis; severe allergic reactions; multiple sclerosis; lupus; and certain conditions that affect the lungs, skin, eyes, kidneys blood, thyroid, stomach, and intestines. In which cases should we take Trolic 5mg tablets? ## Hi grace, Each Trolic 5 tablet contains 5mgs of Prednisone. Prednisone is a synthetic corticosteroid drug that is particularly effective as an immunosuppressant, and affects virtually all of the immune system. It is used to treat certain inflammatory diseases and (at higher doses) cancers, but has "significant" adverse effects. Hope this helps!

what is the difference between these 2 tablets ## Trolic is listed as containing the active ingredient Prednisone, which is a steroid class medication that's used to treat inflammation, immunity disorders and allergic reactions. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, acne, insomnia and fluid retention. Tesco is listed as containing the active ingredient Loratadine, which is an antihistamine that's used to treat or prevent allergies. Its side effects may include dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

Well I have been experiencing an involuntary cough, where I have this urge to keep clearing the back of my throat and it won't go away. I'm not sick and it has been happening for 4 months. I went to a doctor and she told me it might be an allergy so she gave me Trolic 5 mg (28) tablets and she said that I must take 6 tablets every morning (1x a day). Is this the right dosage? I'm on day 3. ## Trolic is listed as contained Prednisone, which is a steroid class medication that is sometimes used to treat allergic reactions, and other medical conditions as defined by your doctor, and yes, you should take it as she directed for the prescribed period of time. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Trolic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia, nervousness, acne, and f...

Hi I Was prescibed Trolic 5mg (Take 4 tablets once a 1) And Erythromycin Strearate 250mg (Take 1 tablet 4 times a day) After I Had An Asthma Attack. Is It Safe To Take Paracetamol tablets with thi, cause it gives me a trerrible tession headache as well as tightens my head jaws and neck. ## Hi Sherwin, Sorry to hear about your situation. Based on my research, There are no drug interactions listed between Paracetamol and Erythromycin/Trolic. So you should be fine in that regard. On the other hand, there ARE interactions between Erythromycin and Trolic (Prednisone). Apparently taking the two together can catalyze the effects and levels of prednisone in your blood. This, in turn, can significantly increase your risk of certain side effects (perhaps even leading to those symptoms that you...
