Take One Pill 3 Times A Day Oxycodone 10 Mg

I have been on oxycodone 10 mg 4 times a day for few yrs due to back surgery and no relief and now my dr changed oxycode same dosage to 3 times a day and added morphine 15 mg sulfate tabs 4 times a day. My question is.... Is it safe to take both and that many a day since i have never been on morphine before? Seems like a lot of meds but it has helped me dramatically with pain i just dont want to overdose since i dont know as said much about morphine ## Morphine is also a narcotic opiate that has been in use for many years to alleviate pain, as a matter of fact, it actually used to be the go to medication during war times for injured soldiers. I have been taking Percocet in different doses shapes & sizes for the past 15 years. With APP & without... I find absolutely have find very very very little difference (I say three times) between the different generic on the market & I find it bizarre that these people say they find drastic differences between them. I take 10mg of Oxycodone three times a day for a spine injury. I've been taking it for two years, never got high with it. I would like to chime in here. If all possible do not take oxycontin er. I have been on them for 7 years now. I was taking Norco for a muscle disease I got for chemicals when I was in the army. I had a heart attack later on and my doctor at the time said I had to take these OXY. That it was safer if I knew what I know know I would have punched him in the mouth. I was on 140 mg er. I am now chemically dependant on them. It's miserable up and down wake up in the morning in full blown withdrawals. I have been self tapering myself off of them. This is a very very miserable. I am now down to 10 mg 3 times a day. Getting ready to go to ir's. I dropped 10mg ever couple of weeks to get here. I will never take another opiate when I can get off. I have been prescribed and taking oxycodone 10 hcl, 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. Today saw my spine surgeon (nurse practitioner) to get a refill prescription and what I was given was oxycontin 10 mg extended release, the prescription says to take 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. Isn't this too much from what I have been taking? I was in coma for 1 day, breathing at 2-4 breaths per min which is low oxygen levels that can cause brain damage. I didn't go to the hospital, my friend is a paramedic and almost called 911 but says he should have. I woke up fine and took a shower, used a Q-tip to clean my ears and noticed that my right ear had blood in it. This isn't the first time it happened, 2 more times but did nothing about it. I didn't know it was severe cause I wasn't told I was in coma at all. How many oxycodone 5-325 equals 1 morphine 15 mg? ## Hello, DJ! How are you? Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you'd need 10mgs of it to equal each 15mgs of Morphine. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, that's not entirely accurate in this case, since the Acetaminophen augments the action of the Oxycodone. My dr switched to Oxycodone this month 20 mg. I actually agreed to 10 mg, insurance agreed only to 20mg. I’ve been taking them and I do not like them. I get nauseated and feel weird after taking them. I don’t know why Dr switched? I feel I’m not getting control of my pain as I did with Oxycodone. 12 hours is terrible waiting out! ## If your getting nauseous and feel weird the dose may be too high for you. When you say Oxycodone 10/325 that was Percocet maybe having the Acetamnophen in it helped more with the pain. If insurance only pays for 20mg you could split them and take 10mg if dr is okay with that. My dr. Changed my 20 mg Oxycodone for Oxycodone/Acetaminophen 10/325 Which is stronger because the 10/325 isn't working. ## The 20 mg. is 2 times stronger than the 10mg. The 325 part is just Tylenol . The 20 mg is oxycodone which the very strong part that kills your pain . Your Dr. Seems to have cut your pain strength in half. ## @Tessa, I agree with Smith, in that your doctor nearly cut your dose/pain relieving effects in half (even after taking into consideration the 325mgs of Acetaminophen - which is very subtle in my opinion). Subtracting that extra 10mgs of Oxycodone was the biggest alteration and is probably the reason why you're not feeling like the Percocet is working. Hello this is the first time I have ever posted in a forum but I do not know where else to turn. So I have been taking Oxycodone off and on for about 5 yrs. I was hit by a car in AZ while I was walking and after a few MRI's I was put on 15 mg Roxicodone 5 times a day I was taking that for about 1yr now in az they are not that strict on Thier laws now sometimes I would have more pain so I would take 30 Mgs instead of 15, I told my doc and he said that happens sometimes so a few months before I left Az I was taking 30 Mgs up to 5 times a day (prescribed of course) so I end up leaving AZ and I move to Washington state the first thing I do is get reffered to A neurologist and pain management, the first thing he does is tell me I was on way to much and cuts me to 10mgs 3 times a day........

what is stronger, oxycodone 10mg or hydrocodone/acetaminophen10-325 mg? ## From what I could gather, oxycodone is said to be approximately 1.5 times more potent than hydrocodone. So I'd put my bet on the oxycodone being stronger than the vicodin. Although I'd also imagine that its effects on each patient will be largely influenced by individual tolerance, pain threshold, severity of the condition, and other personal factors. Is a tec 30 stronger than a percocet 5? Is taking a tec 30 the same as taking a percocet 30? ## If I am not mistaken TEC 30 contains 30 mg of Codeine, whereas a Percocet 5 contains 5 mg of Oxycodone. As far as comparisons go I had a look at the Equianalgesic table and it's showing that Codeine is 1/10th the relative strength of Morphine, where as Oxycodone is 1.5 times stronger than Morphine. So to break that down ... 30 mg of Codeine ≅ 3 mg of Morphine ... 5 mg of Oxycodone ≅ 7.5 mg of Morphine. In other words, a Percocet 5 is over twice as strong as 30 mg of Codeine.

I was prescribed oxycodone acetaminophen 5-325 for pain; another doctor told me to take 1000 mg of acetaminophen for the same pain. Which is stronger? ## @Demetri, Oxycodone in and of itself is significantly stronger than Acetaminophen, so I'm not sure if there's any reliable or honest way to accurately compare the two, outside of trying each one for yourself at different times in the day and noticing the big difference in pain relief. I'm not a Dr. but I also wouldn't encourage anyone to take such a large dose of Acetaminophen on a regular basis. They narrowed down the max dose in meds to 325mg for a good reason (to do with decreasing one's risk for liver damage/failure). So my thoughts are, even if 1000mgs of Acetaminophen helped your pain momentarily, it would see...

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation, it also carries the risk of being habit forming.
