Need a doctor to prescribe, not a methadone clinic. I currently exhausted all in the surrounding areas. Very important. Anywhere in central AR. ## Hello, Susan! How are you? I'm sorry, but if you've already gone to a Methadone clinic, at any point, then a regular doctor will not be able to prescribe it for you. It would be against the law for them to do so, so a clinic is your only option. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can anyone suggest a good one in that area? ## U can still get a doc just dnt say u went to a clinic or say that was ur only option cause of the pain and when they found out u take them for pain they will get rid of u cause a c...

I am trying to help my father find a doctor in northern Kentucky, zip code 41016. He has been on methadone for twelve years for drug addiction. He is now trying to get off of the methadone because he can no longer afford the clinic he was going to. He is trying to find a doctor to help him get off methadone. Please, any help in any direction would be greatly appreciated. ## Hello, Lindsay! How are you? I'm sorry, but if he's been taking it for addiction treatment, or maintenance, then a clinic is his only option. Private doctors are not allowed to prescribe it for that, even if he's just wanting to taper off. I'm sorry, I wish I had better news for you, but I don't. The situation is basically this -- Where I usually receive methadone (the normal 10mg.) I am having a situation where this route may not be avail. I recently was told a new person may have 90mg LIQUID form of methadone. First, my main purpose is to taper off other opioids. My thought process was this basically 15 (quantity) of the 10mg methadone and, in a week lower the dosage. Now that may not be an option. If I receive this 90mg LIQUID methadone how do I administer it? And, is one "bottle" (or however it comes) enough for a seven day "detox"? I am very confused on how to taper with this new form. (NEW meaning I've never taken it before). ## Autumn, If you are being dispensed 90 milligrams of liquid methadone, that's equal to 9 10 mg pills: however, keep in mind...

THERE ARE 2 OR 3 PILL FORMS OF METHODONE; 1 IS ROUND,1 IS OBLONG AND ARE MADE BY MYLAN PHARMACEUTICALS..WHAT MARKINGS ARE ON THE OBLONG METHADONE PILLS? ## Hi, Hoss! How are you? Actually, there are over 3 pages of Methadone pills, with 10 images a page and several of them are oblong tablets. Do you know anything else about it, such as what the dosage was? That could help to narrow it down. Learn more Methadone details here.

The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Are there any questions? my grandaughter has been on methadone drink for five years now and her teeth are rotting away terribly fast. Is there another way she can take this drug? ## Hello, Verlie! How are you and your granddaughter? There are other forms available, such as tablets, but that won't likely help the problem. Opiates are all well known for causing dental decay, with long-term use, because they can cause mineral loss in the body. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Has she consulted a dentist? A cleaning and sealant may help slow down the decay.

No, you'll need to wait about 3 days, again, before you can go back on your Methadone, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. The Buprenorphine will block it from working, if taken sooner. i moved to bristol,va and cant find anbody that will refill my meds ## Hello, Bob! How are you? If you are taking it for pain, then you'll need to see a pain management specialist. A general practice physician won't be able to prescribe it for you and to find a new doctor, you won't be able to ask them up front if they'll prescribe Methadone, because doctors are taught to view that as being drug seeking behavior. You'll need to set up an appointment with a doctor, make sure they get a full copy of your medical records and then discuss your treatment options, while at your appointment. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If you are takin...

I have been taking methadone for 10 days starting at 30 and ending at 60. I don't want to have to get up at 5am and drive 35min for the rest of my life, so I'd like to get back on subutex. Can anyone tell me when I can take it? I have not taken methadone for 2 days now. ## Hello, Cory! How are you? You need to be in full withdrawal, before taking Subutex, otherwise it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals. Thus, there's no precise time frame that can be given, because it may vary from person to person. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Has federal funding for methadone decreased since the "opiodemic"? I started taking opiates in 1992 because of extreme pain in my hip which I had suffered with since 1979. The medical profession gave me NSAID's and a small script for Tylenol-3. I have since had 2 hip replacements. I am 59 yrs old. I was on and off methadone for years and have been on it steady for 10 years and stayed clean. During this time I have gone from paying $0 to what will start next month at $360.00/mo. ## Manufacturers are free to set their own prices in the U.S. according to supply and demand. Thus, it really has nothing to do with federal regulations, but more to do with market competition and capitalism. I went thru it once and if I were to wind up on it again I would take it for the rest of my life so I wouldn’t have to go thru that again. I just heard that the government is telling some patients they can...

I have been taking anywhere from 5 to 10 mg of methadone a day for about 1 month. I only take it once a day, and at the same time every day (at night before bed) for back pain. If I stop taking it cold turkey at this point, will I experience withdrawals? ## Yes, you will most likely still experience some withdrawal effects, such as nausea, fever, chills, diarrhea and rebound pain, as listed by the FDA. Methadone is very well known to be habit forming and to cause withdrawals, that's why many people that take t for addiction treatment end up requiring a lifetime maintenance dose of it and never truly end up drug free. Have you discussed the issue with your doctor? ## No, I have not. I've stopped taking it, and after the 1st night I had hot sweats. Nothing else so far, but I'm...

Methadone is notorious for causing bad withdrawals, even at very low doses, which is why many people treated with it end up on a lifetime maintenance dose of it and never truly become drug free. I can't say that you're going to have problems, but there is a definite chance that you still might. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How are you? I am sorry about the problem that you're having. Have you consulted your doctor about it?
