Tab Met Xl Used For What

I have undergone CABG surgery in December, 2011. I was prescribed MT XL 50 and i was using the same every day since December, 2011. I am a patient of hypothyriodism and using Eltroxin 10 MG tablets every day. I came to know MET XL will also work for hyper thyriodism. Since i am using medication for hypothyriodism, whether i can take MET XL 50 tablet. kindly advise me.

What is the differance between METFORMIN HCL AND XL TAB ?. ## Hello, Karen! How are you? The HCL just designates the specific chemical salt that the medication is derived from, so it's all Metformin HCL, however, the XL designates that one as being a time release formulation of the medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, flatulence, diarrhea and hypoglycemia. Is there anything else I can help with?
