Good morning everyone. I'm taking Subutex I've been on it for about 6 months now. I'm 62 years old and I'm doing great on the Subutex except at my age I do have severe pain. I'm going to ask my doctor when I go back next month is there anything you can take for pain that will work with the Subutex? I don't mean Tylenol or Ibuprofen because it just doesn't work. Any suggestions you kind people. Thank you have a great day. Just hurting. ## I'm sorry, but there are no opiates that will work with Subutex. By its very nature, the Buprenorphine in it latches onto your opiate receptors, and takes a stronger hold than all other available opiates, that is one of the ways it helps prevent people from still abusing them, while undergoing treatment with it. However, ...

I have been off the opiates for just over a year and lately due to stress I find myself wanting to deal with my issues by self medicating and used subutex to get clean. Suboxen gives me headaches so I need a dr in the oak ridge area who will prescribe subutex before I go down that addiction path again. I have so much going in my favor and don't want to lose all that I've worked to achieve. Please tell me where and who can help. ## Hi im going for a vacation for 3 months to thailand, right now im on subutex treatment and need prescription on subutex to take with me, i contacted some docter in thailand and they only got methadone , so could you help me with prescription for 3 months, my doctor will not write any recept for some reason i dont know ! my vacation will be broken if no...

Can u take saphris 5mg with subutex 8 mg ## I didn't find any interactions listed between these two medications, but you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain of the safety of taking them both. Learn more Subutex details here. Learn more Saphris details here. The main problem that I can see that may occur is due to the fact that they both cause some depression of the central nervous system, so taking them both can intensive those effects. Thus, you should know to watch for any possible danger signs, such as extreme somnolence, dizziness, lowered heart rate and low blood pressure. Have they both been prescribed for you? ## Can you please answer something for me? Ok I have been taking subutex since I have ran out of my pain meds which is opana 10mg IR. I hav...

I recently moved to another state, I'm been on subxone for 7 months and now I have no insurance at all, I paid 300$ to see a Dr. I received a free cupon for 15 Zubsolve and I went back to my Dr. He put me on Subutex for 1 month because its cheaper then the strips! I have my script and I went to one Pharmacy and its 320.00 for 48 of them.. I know its cheaper then 450.00 for my strips. I'm having trouble paying for my script. I can get generic for too but I do not know where to fill them. I heard that some pharmacies may charge as low as 2$ a pill but I'm having a hard time finding one. Just thought maybe someone might know of a place or Drug company that has assistance with help.. I will be out of my zubsolv in 3 days. I've never been on subutex before. My Dr said just on...

Small white round pill with the numbers 54 755 on the same side. ## I was using perk 10s for over a year and having a hard time coming off this opiate being told if wanting to be free of this addiction and using subutex the right way will be very helpful in my recovery ## Yes, this tablet is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories, and they list it as containing 2mgs of Buprenorphine, which is most commonly used to help treat drug addiction, and to treat some forms of chronic pain. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. The inactive ingredients may include: citric acid anhydrous, corn starch, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, mannitol, povidone, sodium citrate, though they may vary depending...

I've been taking 2mg sub a day for the past year. I've had a few bumps in the road over the past year and my sub Dr has been very patient. I'm going to run out before my next refill. I'm scared and I'm sorry if this against the board rules. ## This is why they have contracts. You should tell the doctor if your pain is still not being managed. Taking more than what is prescribed is not good, and is why the rest of us end up paying. "Sorry"? Your doctor is NOT going to give you any extra, because his license to practice, is on the line. They have heard every story..."they fell out of my purse", "I dropped some in the sink". No sympathy at all. It's up to you to report, that you are still in pain. Deciding to medicate yourself more, without g...

Hello i just found out i was having a baby i have bluecare insurance does anyone know a doc that prescribes subutex and takes my insurance and is in murfressboro tn please help ## I don't know how it is in TN, but judging by down here in GA, where I live and what I did when I found out I was pregnant and surprise surprise got laid off my job a week later. My best bet was to go get emergency Medicaid. And they would do anything to help you get off and stay off drugs, like they did for me. They paid for me to be in a private rehab center where they could monitor me and the baby and there were doctors and nurses there. So if suboxone makes withdrawal for and your child more bearable and safe, they'd probably have no problem with you having them since you'll be in a safe, clinic...

My husband has been on subtext for almost 8 years when he first started going to the clinic we thought that he was going to be weaned off the opiates but every trip to the doctors he was giving a prescription for more subtext which we are being charge a three hundred dollar visit every month and that doesn't include the price to have the prescription filled which we can't afford so my question is can he safely get off of this medicine? ## Yes, but it will require a slow taper to prevent withdrawal issues, since it does contain an opiate. The FDA warns that suddenly stopping it could cause rebound effects, such as nausea, pain, elevated heart rate, elevated blood pressure, fever, chills, and diarrhea. His doctor should be able to help him set up a proper tapering schedule. Has he...

I've been trying to find a subutex doctor. I used to take oxys, perk 30's and other opiates but then I started subutex. I now have a good job and want to keep it that way! But now any doctor I've called wants to prescribe suboxone first and it makes me sick. it gives me migraines (which I have chronic migraine syndrome so it must be a trigger) a rash and makes me sick to the stomach. Second I have no insurance and its just way too expensive from all the research I've done. Does anyone know of doctors in central PA that prescribe subutex or how I go about getting subutex and not suboxone?? ## I go to a dr in Mobile Al who I adore - its a total judgment free zone but majority staff are lazy and don't return calls - the same ones who are good are amazing! Several sat on...

Can my insurance abruptly only pay for 8 mg of my medicine when the doc has prescribed me 16 mg which is two 8 mg a day since I started the pregnancy I'm 22 days away from my due date my doctor told me its dangerous to taper this far along and I've been responding so well to treatment.I have to pay 175 every two weeks out of pocket for the visits and insurance has been taking care of the meds... ? ## Hello, Mommyof3! How are you? There is actually nothing that decrees that your insurance has to cover it, at all. However, since you are pregnant, you might be able to get an exception, so you should speak to your doctor about it, there is paperwork they can submit to make the request. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effec...

My husband was taking methadone for over 5yrs for pain he lost a part of his finger.Well suddenly his dr decided he was nolonger going to prescribe narcotics to any of his paitients we live in IN. and are looking for a Dr. that is willing to prescribe subutex instead of suboxone we don't like the side effects of the suboxone. If anyone can help it will be appreciated it he is so miserable. ## Hi, Sorry I don't live in IN. But this is my suggestion just find any MD. Tell him what has happened and that he can't take suboxone maybe it gives him terrible head aches? It did me!! Some will write subutex here in Alabama and they are suboxone drs. I went to see my doctor this week and he told me that the FDA and the DEA had passed a new law for prescribing Subutex. As of July 1st 2015 Subutex can only be given to pregnant woman or to someone with documentation saying they can't take Suboxone. If you don't have that you will be put on Suboxone. ## They Are Both the same thing. Better yet, stop doing narcotics, get off opiates completely. Do you focus on school and work as much as you do opiates being controlled By the DEA??? ## Jim, not that it's any of your business, but yes I do focus on my career now that I'm off the opiates and taking subutex. I received my B.S. in molecular biology and am currently completely my 2nd year of medical school. So now that you know a little about me, what about you? Since I'm s...

I take the white subutex, most doctors do not prescribe for long term due to potential abuse. I like them better due to no side effects and taste. I also weaned off more then a couple times due to surgeries. Each time takes about 3 months and pretty much no pain, only for maybe a couple days of no sleep, but that is okay compared to the others. Plus I have a great doctor (not the sub doc) but my Internal Med doc. It always helps when your doctor is cool as mine! He is not judgmental at all.

What the difference between Buprenorphine with Naloxone and Buprenorphine without Naloxone ## Hello, Cynthia! How are you? That is the difference. once contains the Naloxone to help prevent the abuse of other medications, while someone is being treated with it and the other doesn't. Naloxone isn't safe for everyone, particularly pregnant women, or someone who is allergic to it, so a different option has to be available for them. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Can skmeone please help me bow do i take the subutex am i supposed to diss...

I have run out of options with "pain pills" have been inquiring about subutex as a pain reliever for chronic pain due to a spinal injury. Ive been on just about every pain pill there is and they just don't seem to have enough "power" to keep my pain level at a acceptable position. Anyone with factual information that I can present to my healthcare provider would be my hero. Thanks ## Hello, Lee! How are you? What type of factual information are you looking for? Anything that would be available on this site or others online is the same as what your doctor already has access to for information. There is nothing new I can provide you with. Have you ever tried the Fentanyl patches? It is a very potent narcotic in a time released patch that sometimes helps those who have ...

I have been on 16 mg of subutex for ten years, last Tuesday I had surgery and decided that I was going to try to come off the subutex, use the pain mess I was prescribed for the surgery and then be done with it all. I was prescribed perk 5 mg every four hours, and at the time of the surgery I had been off the subutex for 24 hours (I know that's not long enough) To my surprise taking the perk as prescribed held me over at least in the beginning. By Monday night I was in terrible withdraws (despite still taking the pain medication as I have been). By about 4am I took half of a 8mg sub (which was around 10 hours after the last perc I've taken) The 4 mg not only took me out of WD but it down right got me high. I was quite upset with my lapse but was determined to not let it be my down

My dr. says you cant get subutex in CANADA,not in CANADA and that sucks, I WANT SUBUTEX and xyrem too, lol! CANADA SUCKS! Yet i hear someone say under the worst conditions. No one seems to know the answer for this and i am having reactions to naloxone. We have the Bupe patch, but i dont know if that will replace suboxone! I hope Canada gets it! ## Hello, When you say Bupe patch, are you referring to Buprenorphine? If so, Subutex contains Buprenorphine so I imagine that they should work in similar ways. I've taken vitamin B12 patches and I could tell that the vitamin was much more effective as a patch vs a pill. Hopefully that will be the case with your "Bupe" patches! I'm not sure as to why Subutex isn't available in Canada though, does anyone else have any informati...
