I've been suffering from chronic bronchitis for the last 2 years and my father is a professor in a medical college. He had started me on asthalin for the last 1 and half years. I feel my body shivering so i have stopped asthalin. Is there any risk of side effects in the future? Had my father done right or wrong by giving me asthalin? Please give me an answer as soon as possible. ## I had suffered from severe dry cough. My doctor prescribed asthalin 2mg tablets to be taken twice a day. After consuming just 3 tablets I got severe pain in my spinal cord and lower back and muscular cramps on both sides of my limbs. The pain was so severe that I can couldn't lift my legs or walk. I am using asthalin 4 mg for the past 10 years when there is need for that (i.e. whenever i am suffering from wheezing problem). For the past 2 weeks i am taking the asthalin. I am facing continuous knee/joint pain in my legs. Is it due to overdosage or could be any other reason. Pls. clarify. ## Have you consulted your doctor? They'd be best able to advise you on what's causing the problem. Asthalin contains the active ingredient Salbutamol, it is most commonly used to treat asthma. It can cause some muscle pain and spasms as a side effect, however, there is no way anyone can say that it is definitely causing the problem, from just a short post in the internet.
