Can a mspain management Doctor in mississippi prescribe more than one hundred oxycodone along with nintey morphine one hundred mg. ## Hello, Troy! How are you? Actually, under the new DEA directives, they are requested to limit patients to no more than the equivalent of 120mgs of Morphine a day, some states have lowered that even further to no more than the equivalent of 100mgs of Morphine a day. The only exceptions are supposed to be for those that have a potentially fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, you're actually among the rare people that are still being prescribed such h...

I take the 10mg pink Oxycodone and I am on disability for whatever reason DSHS\SSI medical insurance makes me pay 2 out of every 3 months for the 10mg tablets the 3rd month is free Why? The 5 mg tablets are also partially covered only 90 tablets are covered (free). I have a 28 day supply every month #112 if 5mg per my request no more than 4 in 24hr period written on the bottle or #56 10mg with (at my request no more than 2 in 24hr written on bottle.) I was switching back and forth to avoid being charged because without notice they stopped covering the Oxycodone the 1st time I was given my prescription of 112# 5mg they docked my amount to 90 tab because that's all dshs would cover and they refused to give me the remaining 22 because you can't pay cash on a dshs paid script. I wou...

Do they make a genaric oxycodone? They are so costly. ## yes they make genaric ## oxycodone is a generic. It is the generic of percocet. Sorry, but the cost is probably as low as you can get unless you haven't tried cosco.com pharmacy. They usually have lower prices/ ## Yes, Oxycontin is a brand name, & a month of the pills (without my insurance just looking at the sticker) says it costs $840. Oxycodone IS the generic & it will run about $250. There ARE different generics out there, & one of them is horrible! I won't say the maker's name, but once you find a generic that works for you, stick with it! there are differences. If you have limited income, You can have your doctor's office put in a request for a 'card' from the brand name manufacturer that ...

I take oxycodone 5 mg for back pain. I got the new K18 tablets and I read on another forum that you cant dissolve these pills. I have swallowing issues and have always chewed them. It's confusing because there is a score on the pills so I always thought that meant you could break them in half. I don't feel the effects of these pills much and I am wondering what you know about these tamper proof pills and can a person request pills and can these be safely and effectively broken in half? ## Is there a coating on the K18 Oxycodone tablets that prevents them from being water soluble? ## Round & White Oxycodone tablets with imprint K 18 (NDC 10702-018) contain the following inactive ingredients: - Lactose Monohydrate - Starch, Corn - Cellulose, Microcrystalline - Silicon Dioxide ...

How is this compared to loratab ## The tablet with the IP 118 marking doesn't contain Oxycodone, it is another generic for Lortab that contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 750mgs of Acetaminophen. Learn more Lortab details here. Since it contains a narcotic, this medication does have the potential to be habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. I'd also like to let you know that by request of the FDA, all of these combination medications are going to have the amount of Acetaminophen in them lowered to only 325mgs. This has been done due to the risk of liver damage or failure that can be associated with long-term use and the risk of toxicity from Acetaminophen overdose. Some manufacturers have already begun to implement the ...

Need a doctor to legitimately prescribe oxycodone in Philadelphia Pa area due to back surgery. Pls help me on ## Hi Mick, sorry to hear about your challenges! I wanted to ask what you have been prescribed so far after the surgery? Also, has your surgeon followed up with you to see how your recovery is progressing? I'm not judging here in any way but one concern I have is that you are basically trying to get a prescription for one specific drug which your doctors may or may not deem to be the best for your recovery. And if you approach new physicians requesting a specific medication it could be a red flag. Are you unable to get your existing prescriptions refilled? Please write back with as many details as you can share so that myself or someone else can hopefully give you some good ...

I am taking oxycodone rho 30 mg for severe back and leg and foot pain. I've been reading about rho and do not like what I am seeing. The pain clinic I go to changed the manufacturer a few months ago and I want to go to a different manufacturer. Do you think the clinic will honor a request to change? They are causing me to have breathing problems. Advice please. Thanks ## Hello, Edward! How are you? The prescribing doctor cannot dictate which generic you receive from your pharmacy. The only thing they can do, if necessary, is write the prescription as 'brand medically necessary', or whatever the equivalent is in your state. Even if the clinic has an in-house pharmacy, like my primary care doctor does, the doctor still doesn't control which generic they fill your prescript...

1. I now take15 mg morphine sulfate TID which makes me sleepy and does not handle my pain, plus up to 10/325 oxycodone 4xday to handle pain. (orig. on 30 mg morphine sulfate + oxy, and reduced at my request due to sleepiness) 2. 10/325 mg oxycodone taken alone 4xday is effective 80 or so % of the time in treating my pain, and does not cause sleepiness. Why the difference? My pain mgmnt physician wants me to rely more on the morphine sulfate. Thank you so much. ## While they are both narcotics, their base chemical structure is different and may affect any given person differently. I had the same problem with Morphine, I could barely ever stay awake, while taking it, however, Oxycodone makes me a bit drowsy, but works much better for me. The FDA warns that narcotic pain medications carry ...

I just picked up my prescription from a mom n pop pharmacy. Seems like every other month they have a different manufacturer. Trust me I know - they buy the cheapest brand lot available at the time. But these new ones I just got are horrible. They're produced by Lupin Pharmaceuticals. They are blue in color and HARD as a rock!!! When I visit the website they keep comparing themselves to Mallinckrodt. I used to get Mallinckrodt before I switched to the new pharmacy and they were by far the best. But just be aware these new ones by Lupin SUCK so check your pills before you leave the window and request different ones. You'll thank me later. ## Interesting. Thanks. The Mallinckrodt Adderall are awful so I would have been worried about their pain meds. ## What difference is it if they...

I have an illness that caused extreme pain and the inability to walk. At least with pain meds I can get around. I can no longer find any pharmacy to fill my medications. Even the pharmacy that I am a long term client. I can even get it there. Please help. I am not looking forward to bed sores. ## Unfortunately, shortages are experienced almost every year. When it comes to controlled substances, such as Oxycodone, each manufacturer is only allowed to produce a certain amount per year, once they have hit that amount, they must stop manufacturing, unless they request and receive special dispensation to produce more, or until they receive their new allotted amount for the next year. The amount they are each allowed to produce of each controlled substance is based on the prior years producti...

I am currently taking oxycodone hcl ir 10mg 3 times a day as prescribed by my dr for 4 herniated disks with degeneration in my neck. I have very severe chronic pain in my neck, shoulder, and arm from this. The pills do help with the pain, but only last about 3 hours. which still leaves me in pain a lot of the day. Should I just inform my dr of this, or should I request a certain amount a day? I have been taking this amount for about 5 months now. I am not looking for a stronger pill, just more frequency of taking them. I do not have insurance, and can not afford extended release pills, as they are about 6-8 times the amount of money. I take my pills as prescribed, and do not abuse them. ## Hello, Bob! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. It would be best to inform yo...

I used to request Watson brand esp with soma. I had my script filled and the brand dispensed was Actavis and I think it's weak. I am not a fan and trust me, I'm an expert on the good and bad brands. This is supposed to be the company that bought Watson which is a drag BC I can't find my soma's anymore unless Walgreens carries them. Actavis is a weak, short acting pain pill. My suggestion is to ask what brands they offer and avoid this one. At least for me, if you have a high tolerance, this is to be avoided. If you can't avoid it, then sucks for you. Good luck but an fyi from a pain pill consumer. There's other choices. We should have a funeral for good 'ol Watson meds. They were well made! ## I prefer actavis and have my pharmacy order it for me... Watson an...

My Pain Mgt Dr. has been reducing my Percocet 10/325 mg pills down from 6/day to 3/day and my Kadian 20 mg pills down from 4/day to 3/day! I have been on this drug regimen for 7 yrs. due to a poor outcome from my last lumbar fusion surgery. I have heard that the DEA is requiring that all doctors must wean their patients down off of ALL opiate pain meds. Can you inform me of possibly any new developments in pain meds that would be accepted by the DEA??? Thanks so much. ## Hello, Doug! How are you? No, they don't have to take people off of all pain medications, however, they have been directed to limit how much is prescribed per day to any patient that does not have a possibly fatal illness, such as stage 4 cancer. It's been requested that no one else be given more than the equiva...

I am currently taking OXYCODONE CAP 5MG and I will soon run out of these cap. I have plenty of Hydro Apap Tab 5 325 mg tablets. Can I take these instead to use them up. Then request a prescription for the OXYCODONE CAP 5MG ## The Hydrocodone isn't quite as strong as the Oxycodone, so you might not get the same amount of relief from it, though the Acetaminophen in it may help a little, with that. To be specific, the tablet you mentioned contains 5mgs of the Hydrocodone and 325mgs of the Acetaminophen. Since it still contains a narcotic, the side effects are about the same as what you are used to with the Oxycodone and can include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I just don't see how that could be true the people who have told me this info are nit wits lol so somebody please help me thank you... ## Actually, you are correct, the letters or markings simply designate a different company and has nothing to do with the strength and efficacy of the tablets. Under federal law, each company that manufactures a prescription medication that is approved for sale...

I'm new to the area have MRI but no insurance and my old doctor retired and can't get my records. Anyone know of a good doctor? please help. ## Sorry to be the bad news delivery guy but you will have very little chance of getting what you are requesting. This is Florida where in 2010 almost 98% of the nations oxycodone for that year was dispensed (two CVS pharmacies within 5 miles of each other were busted for selling over 12 million doses in three years(average pharmacy fills 69,000 controlled a year). This and the proliferation of pill mills (where you only needed an MRI-so I would not use the "I have an MRI but no records" when searching for new dr) lead to the shutdown of said pill mills and big trouble for CVS and their supplier(care mark) as they can only order sma...

How are you? Unfortunately, the only one that can answer that for you, with any certainty, would be your doctor. The rest of can only guess, it might just be due to them trying to more closely monitor patients, as requested by the DEA last year, or there may be some other reason. According to the FDA, this is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipa...
