Predisone panic/rage

Just a little background I'm a 17 year old thats 131 pounds and a pretty nice down to earth guy. Two days ago I went to the doctor for ear pain, it turns out my ear was swollen and preventing drainage, I was prescribed prednisone (2 20mg tablets each morning, 5 days), along with amoxicillin (2 500mg tablets)and antibacterial ear drops. I took my first dosage this morning about 10 o'clock, my mom called me to ask me how I was doing at around 1 I noticed I was extremely sassy and agitated talking to her but aft that was over things went back to normal. I new that prednisone was a steroid and as a dumb 17 year old I got kinda happy that I might gain muscle, so I looked it up, turns out it is the opposite and it makes you gain weight, honestly I didn't really care about that I w... ...

How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. The FDA classifies Prednisone as a steroid, which may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzies, headache, nervousness and irritability. The side effects of this antibiotic may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Hydrocodone with Apap is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is t... ...

One day on Lyrica and still suffering months later
1 Reply RSS
My doctor prescribed Lyrica for pain I was having from a back issue, and after one day on this drug my hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles and feet were so swollen I could not function. I couldn't even cut my food or walk more than a few steps. Both my wife and I thought I wouldn't live out the month. After being seen by several doctors I was told I was having an acute auto immune response and was put on prednisone. After two months now the swelling is improving and the dosage of steroids is going down, but I still take them or the inflammation returns. This is the first time in my life I have had any bad reaction to any drug. I regret having taken this and hope this condition isn't permanent. ## Jason, Oh my goodness!! I can't do Lyrica either, and I am lucky that I di... ...

Tapering off from 10mg?
2 Replies RSS
I have been on Prednisone for 3 months, taking 10mg a day. It was not for a pain condition, but rather to aid and support pregnancy. Now that I am 12 weeks pregnant, they are tapering me off. I am to go from 10mg to 5mg for a week, then 2.5mg for a week, then cease. I have been reading up on tapering and a LOT of people refer to dropping 1mg at certain intervals. Is going to 5mg then 2.5mg too fast? I'm unsure whether other people who are dropping 1mg do so because they were on a higher dose initially, but I did wonder..... Obviously i do not want to go into adrenal shock, particularly with the pregnanct. But I am also desperate to get off the Prednisone as well and have been counting the days to start tapering down. ## Yes, it really depends on how high of a dose you were on and fo... ...

Hi I am on prednisone for secondary adrenal insuffiancy but I had to recently increase my dose because of a bad out break of poison ivy. I can't take morphine, codene, nsaids, antibioctics, vitimins, sulfa, neurontin & prednisone.I have been on fentenal patches, & vicodin which does nothing for my pain. Now that vicodin is off the market they gave me the substitute norco 7.5 350mg. They suck. I know everything acetimin has been cut to 325mg but do these law makers realize we are just going to have to take more pills to get out of any pain? I found some in my Mom's old stuff too. She was not a veteran, but she did suffer severe cancer pain. So morphine makes sense. ## Hello, I'm so sorry to hear that about your mother, both my mother's parents (my grandparents) passed away from cancer so I can understand what you may be going through. I can't see that you mentioned the color or shape so I just searched for the set of numbers you listed- and I haven't found any morphine pills with that imprint. However, I have identified a white round pill with the imprint" 54 over 092 and a score on the back" as Prednisone (1 mg). The pill you have could be very similar... maybe just a different dosage? Side Effects Of Prolia & Zometa Are Similar
4 Replies RSS
I'm a 59 year old female, diagnosed with Behcet's Disease and I use Prednisone for treatment for my weekly flares. The Prednisone is hard on my bones and has caused me to get osteoporosis in my hips. I had my first infusion of Zometa six days ago. I thought I was going to die from the side effects. I had 103 degree fever for five days, deep bone pain everywhere, muscle pain, flu like symptoms, migraine headache, burning eyes, pale skin, restlessness, and no appetite. Today six days later I'm still fatigued, pale, mild bone pain, mild muscle pain and no appetite. I reported these side effects to my doctor.
