Can anyone tell me how many mgs are in the KlorCon M10 ER tablet? I am trying to compare it to the 1500 mg in a Pot Chlor ER tablet 20meq. ## The Klor-Con M10 ER is listed as being equivalent to 750mgs, or 10meqs, so it's half the dosage of the one you are comparing it to. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Is there another potassium medication like "Klor con m10 er meq" that doesn't have polyethylene glycol in it?

I am looking for an over the counter that is equivalent to to the kor-con m10 er tablets ## Hello, Tracey! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is nothing available over the counter that is equivalent. The over the counter Potassium supplements are just fractions of this, so you'd have to spend just as much many to take a lot of them. How low is your potassium level? You may be able to up it by combining over the counter supplements with high potassium foods, such as bananas. Have you consulted your doctor for ideas? ## Thanks....I was just wondering. Went to doc fri....she uped my lisinopril from 10 to 20 mg and asked me if I took at night.....I always take at 425 every morn before work. Now she wants me to take it before bed. She said people usually take it before bed. why?

What is the difference between Klor-Con M10 and MEQ 8? My Potassium has been very low. I was taking 10MEQ Klor Con, now I take 20M Klor Con. Why can't I just take two of the 10MEQ? ## Hello, Jeanie! How are you? You can do so, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA warns that this medication is very harsh on the stomach, so it should be taken with food. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I take Kcl 10 ME to replenish K loss from a water pill. It is costly. Can I get the same replenishment from dietary Kcl such as as is used to replace Nacl? ## Over the counter supplements are only allowed to max out at 99mgs of Potassium, so you may need to take several to keep it up that way. Learn more Potassium details here. We always have trouble keeping mine up, so we actually switched me to a potassium sparing diuretic, Spironolactone. Learn more Spironolactone details here. You might want to ask your doctor about trying it, instead.

My rx is round with KC 10 stamped on it. Can I take one every other day so my stomach doesn't feel bad all the time? ## Hello, Kelly! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. It's best to follow your doctor's prescribing instructions. Have you tried taking it with food, rather than on an empty stomach? That usually helps. As a matter of fact, when I was in the hospital and had to take it, they wouldn't give it to me without a meal or small snack. The FDA classifies this as a supplement and please be careful not to exceed your doctor's dosing, either, as too much of it can be just as dangerous as not enough. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for your response. my blood test showed a potassium level of 3.5. Is that just low a...

Are the Potassium CL ER 10 MEQ Capsule and the Klor-con 10 MEQ Tablet the same thing? The Klor-con 10 MEQ Tablet is yellow and round with KC 10 on one side and nothing on the other. The Potassium CL ER 10 MEQ Capsule is blue, oblong-shaped, with AMNEAL on one side and 542 on the other side. ## Yes, they have just been manufactured by different companies, which is normal, when a medication is available as a generic. The FDA classifies this as a supplement and it is known to cause stomach pain and upset, so it should only be taken with food. Is there anything else I can help with?

My 102 and 95 year old parents take this HUGE tablet, and they have trouble swallowing it. My mother chews it to break it up, but my research shows this is a bad idea due to more rapid release into her system. Her alternative is to refuse to take it. Is this available in smaller tablets? She probably could swallow two tablets half the size of the 20 meq. I have seen reference to a powder, as well, and wonder if that might be mixed into juice or coffee for an easier administration? ## This is a potassium supplement and you are correct, chewing them is a bad idea, because it can cause ulcerations of the esophagus and stomach. I am not aware of any smaller tablets available, however, you could ask her doctor about the powder, or using an equivalent over the counter substitute. There are so...

How much natural food that is high in potassium would i have to eat daily to equal the amount of 1 Klor-Con M10 ER 10MEQ tablet? ## You really couldn't eat that much of any of them. If your potassium was low enough for your doctor to prescribe this, you should take it, as directed, at least until you reach more normal levels. After that, using high potassium foods, such as oranges, orange juice, and potatoes can help keep it at a normal level. The FDA warns that Klor-Con can be very harsh on the stomach, so it should be taken with food, or a snack. Are you on any other medications?

I ran out of my klor- con 10 prescription and don't have my doctors appointment where I can get a refill until May 4th. Will my potassium level become dangerously low. What can happen if I don't have it? I do believe that my doctor prescribes it because I'm on Warfarin, but I am also on many other medications. ## Hello, Jessie! How are you? Many medications can cause low potassium, but for the most part it occurs with diuretics used to treat edema, congestive heart failure and high blood pressure, as reported by the NIH. You could try to keep it up by eating potassium rich foods, such as bananas and oranges. Or you could call your doctor, they may phone in a few days of it for you, to get you through, until your appointment. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Hi! Ive been feeling not quite myself Over the past week. Nausea, headaches, profusely sweating at random times, out of breath, cramp in calf for 2 full days, anxiety... I just this morning realized my potassium is probably out of whack. I have some klorcon20 that i had been prescribed last time this happened. Anyone know an average of how long it takes it to start easing symptoms? Ive been on prednisone for 10 days and wondering if that could've triggered this? ## I am very sorry about how you're feeling. However, there is a chance that the symptoms you're experiencing are actually due to the Prednisone and not low potassium. Thus, before taking the supplements, it would be best to have it checked out by your doctor. Taking too much potassium can be just as dangerous as not...

Also, what is little, white oval pill with a v on one side and 58/81 on the other? ## The tablet with the KCM-10 is Klor-Con extended release, it's a Potassium supplement of 10mEqs. Do not break, chew or crush these, since they are controlled release, it could cause you to get too much at once, additionally, it is severely irritating to mucous membranes, so it could cause ulceration. I've been taking Klor-Con 10 MEQ for 4 days. How long until you get back to a normal potassium range? Thank you ahead of time for your help. ## It is hard to say, it really depends on how low your level was and how your body responds to the supplement. Generally, when I had to take it, I showed improvement after about a week, but we are all different. The FDA warns that it can be very harsh on the stomach, so it should be taken with food, not on an empty stomach. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## Thank you Verwon for responding. I think I feel better. My leg muscles feel stronger. But I am still dizzy. I am currently prescibed klor-con m20 potassium supplements. I pay 100 dollars for 100 tablets. Is there any where I could find them less expensively. I have to take 3 a day ## Hello, Diane! How are you? The best suggestion I can make is to check with the various pharmacies in your area to compare prices. It seems this is one that's become somewhat expensive everywhere. Will your insurance cover it? Does anyone else have any ideas? This medication can cause stomach irritation, so it is best to take it with food. ## I ran out of my klor con m20 potassium tablets, is there any over the counter potassium tablets I can take in place of this? ## There are a couple kinds of dissolvable potassium available (by prescription). How are you? I am so very sorry about what happened to you. Low potassium levels can be very dangerous and can cause many health issues, having levels that are too high can also be very dangerous. Potassium is something that must remain balanced between specific levels. In my case, my body does not store potassium, though we've never been able to figure out why, thus to keep mine up, my cardiologist has had to double up medications that can elevate my potassium levels.
