is 10 mg oxycontin er the same strenth a 5 milligram oxicodone

we have an eldely dog that has bad arthritis,i have been giving her 1/2 of a 5 mg tab twice a day,it to works well,but like with all ir meds,there is peaks and valleys. I was wondering if 10 mg oxi er would be alot stronger.thank you. ## Yes, it would be double. Both of these medications contain Oxycodone, the Oxycontin is just a time released formulation.
