What does HCI mean on OxyContin packet . ## HCL stands for hydrochloride, it just designates the specific chemical salt that the medication is derived from. It's basically all Oxycodone HCL. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been prescribed and taking oxycodone 10 hcl, 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. Today saw my spine surgeon (nurse practitioner) to get a refill prescription and what I was given was oxycontin 10 mg extended release, the prescription says to take 1-2 tablets every 6 hours. Isn't this too much from what I have been taking? My pain level has been maintained on the oxycodone 10 hcl every 6 hours along with tramadol 50 mg every 6 hours and neurontin 600 mg 4 times a day. ## No, it's still the same dosage of the relevant medication, because Oxycontin also contains Oxycodone. The different, however, is that what you were taking was the regular release formulation and the Oxycontin is the time released formulation. It's the time interval that could be problematic, because the Oxycont...

I Just got my prescription filled yesterday and notice that started having chills real bad. Has anyone else had this problem before? ## It sounds like withdrawal symptoms to me? Not sure about what you can do? I would first go talk too the pharmacy and your doctor if needed. What was the name of the manufacturer of these pills? ## I'm not sure. The only thing I seen on bottle is Roxydone. I always get them filled at cvs. ## Somewhere on the bottle it should say something underneath Roxycodone... Like Purde or some other name. It is important info to know in case there is a problem with that manufacturer. Good luck...I was on heavy doses for over 3 years and it was t...

Can you please let me know if it is my Oxycontin? ## Yes it is the same thing... it is oxicodone. Blue round with R and 215 is oxicodone 30mg. ## Is there any way that the R on the pill could actually be an A ? The reason I ask is because a blue round pill with A 215 on it is Oxycodone 30 mg, generic for Roxicodone. Please let me know what you think... ## what's the difference between the old ones in that say op instead of oc ..... I have oxycodone and OxyContin a few different strengths. Oxycodone HCL IR 15MG TAB, Oxycodone 10MG immediate rel tabs, OxyContin 30MG controlled release tabs, OxyContin 40MG tablet, Oxycodone HCL 20mg IR Tablets. They are name brand not generic. My father passed away from cancer last month. What's the best thing to do with the remaining pills? Pharmacy won't allow a return for a refund. ## Hello, Kyle! How are you? I am very sorry about your loss. While they won't allow a return for a refund, they can safely dispose of them for you, if you take them in and ask them to do so. Alternatively, the FDA says the proper way to dispose of them would be to add them into some undesirable substance, such as damn used coffee grounds, or dirty cat litter, place the mess into a sealed co...

I have not had good experiences with pain management clinic and do not want to go to a methodone clinic. plz let me know a primary care doctor that will help me! ## Hello, Alice! How are you? I'm sorry, but a PCP can no longer write such prescriptions, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis for the treatment of chronic pain, you'll have to see a pain management specialist. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential ...

Last month my doctor gave me oxycontin 20 mg hcl. This month my prescription is for oxycontin 20mg TB12. What is the difference? ## There is no difference, they are both 20mg Oxycontin, which contains the narcotic Oxycodone in a time released formulation. The TB12 just specifically designates the every 12 hour dosing. :-) The TB12 isn't commonly used, but I have seen it a few times before. Learn more Oxycontin details here. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OXYCODONE AN OXYCOTTON? ## It would depend on what formulation of Oxycodone you are talking about. Oxycontin contains Oxycodone, but in a time released formulation, so the medication is slowly released. Roxicodone contains Oxycodone, but in a regular release formulation, this one is also available as a generic. OxyIR contains Oxycodone in an immediate release formulation and is available as a generic, as well. Is there anything else I can help with?

what is the difference between hcl cr and hcl tb 12? ## Well that is really not a commonly use, or even correct way of describing or prescribing Oxy, but it seems someone is using that to denote the different between Oxycodone Instant Release, which is a generic for Roxifast, all of the med is released in your body as once for pain alleviation, normally referred to as Oxy IR, and Oxycodone Controlled Release which is a tablet specially designed to release the drug over a 12 hour period, these are generic version of Oxycontin. So regular Oxy, the IR version, releases the full dose soon after you take the pill, these are only available in up to 30mgs, but the Oxy CR slowly releases the medication over a 12 hour period (Oxycontin) and these are available in up to 80mgs. ## Sorry, basically...

Due to continued back pain I have been using Oxycontin (10mg) as prescribed by my doctor. I am planning a holiday from my home in Australia to India after a short stopover in Singapore. Am wanting to know if I can travel to Singapore and India and take this prescribed medicine with me (2 months supply - 60 tablets) without causing problems at Singapore and Indaian customs. Any help will be appreciated. ## You will need to check with the customs agencies of those specific countries to see what their laws and regulations are concerning controlled substances. Some countries do allow you to carry up to a 3 month supply of your existing prescriptions with you, but it can vary from one to another. Does anyone know any specifics to help this person? ## Shouldn’t be any problems I taken o...

I am regularly take atenelol 100mg one a day methimazole 5 mg three times a week ipramine hcl 50mg two at nite temazapan 30mg one at nite until two months ago I was also taking: Oxycodone 30mg two, four times a day Oxycontin 40mg one twice a day.. This is a long story. in May my Dr. gave me three scripts for the two narcotics. I left them at the drug store after having the May one filled. in June i went back to have the June one filled and they had no record of June or Julys script. Since I had just been robbed in March of just the two narcotics on the day i had them filled and had to call the police, file a report to get another script I was too embarrassed to ask the Dr. to redo them again. I went 6 weeks without the two. I have chronic back pain from surgery that went wrong and fibro...

I have been on perocet 10/325 for many yrs, and now my Dr. Switched me to oxycodone HCl 20mg tablets.my question is, how do I know if it is a extended release or an instant release, as my script says neither on it ? I will be able to fill script in a couple days, and would just like to know, as I heard extended release doesn't work as well.....thank you... ## At this time, there is no generic extended release, that would have to be written under the name Oxycontin. If it is written as Oxycodone, it is most likely the regular release formulation. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, and constipation. What is the color and shape of oxycodone HCL 10 mg. ## A 10mg Oxycodone tablet would be a generic for Roxicodone, so there are several on the market manufactured by different companies. Some of the tablet descriptions and markings include; Round, pink K56 Round, pink ETH 461 Round, white R P 10 And I believe there are a few others as well, those are just the ones I pulled up in a quick search. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Do any of those match the tablet you're questioning? ## A 10 milligram OxyContin is a small white tablet or pill that says 10 on 1 side and some times the letters OC or CDN on the other... Which is stronger oxycontin sr 15mg ter or Oxycodone hcl 10mg ## The 15mg dosage would be stronger, since you'd be getting a higher amount. However, from the information in your post. how they work for someone may be different, because of the difference in the formulation. Oxycontin is a time released formulation that is designed to slowly release that 15mgs over a period of 12 hours. The other would be a regular release formulation that releases all of the medication, at once, within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Is Oxycodone Hcl The Same As Oxycodone? I am wondering if it is the same drug or a mix of drugs.. Any help here would be great! Thanks! :) ## Yes, they are the same. The HCL just stands for hydrochloride and designates the chemical salt that the medication is derived from, some listings for the drug will include it and some don't. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## No that's all I needed but thank you very much & I hope you have a great night! :) ## If you took a percocet 7.5 and you took a oxycontin 20mg (oxycodone HCI) will it appear the same as oxycodone on a 12 panel drug evaluation? Will the controlled release show? I'm new to all this. Thanks.
