Oxycontin 60mg

I am recovering from an intense spinal surgery and was given an rx for 60 mg oxycontin. I filled it last month at my regular CVS, but they said it was removed from the books, they even called other CVS who checked and said it was removed from their books as well, guessing that CVS doesn't carry it anymore. After checking with 10 different pharmacies, no one has it. One said they haven't had to order that in a long time. I didn't think it was that unusual. But where in the world can I get this filled? Walgreens is not an option as they are not a part of my insurance plan.

Please note that according to NIH, "OxyContin tablets are a controlled-release oral formulation of oxycodone hydrochloride indicated for the management of moderate to severe pain when a continuous, around-the-clock analgesic is needed for an extended period of time. OxyContin 60 mg, 80 mg, and 160 mg Tablets, or a single dose greater than 40 mg, ARE FOR USE IN OPIOID-TOLERANT PATIENTS ONLY. A single dose greater than 40 mg, or total daily doses greater than 80 mg, may cause fatal respiratory depression when administered to patients who are not tolerant to the respiratory depressant effects of opioids. OxyContin TABLETS ARE TO BE SWALLOWED WHOLE AND ARE NOT TO BE BROKEN OR CHEWED. TAKING BROKEN OR CHEWED OxyContin TABLETS LEADS TO RAPID RELEASE AND ABSORPTION OF A POTENTIALLY FATAL D...

is there injection form of this pill and what would happen if you did inject it? ## Hello, Fancy! How are you? There is a liquid that is formulated for such use. It isn't safe to do that with pills, since they contain fillers and excipients that may cause blockages. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

WHERE TO FIND OXYCONTIN 60MG. - The major chains are under pressure and ridiculous regulations from the Gov't and Corporate - which makes it very hard for those of us with chronic pain and require it - however, you need to find a locally owned, small town pharmacy . . they usually stock it, and will order it for you. to hell with the major chains . . .and a personal note to Perdue (the manufacturer) YOUR GREED AND ARBITRARY, CONTINUOUS PRICE INCREASES ARE A DISGRACE !!!! OVER ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A MONTH'S SUPPLY??? pardon me but F YOU, you greedy S.O.B.'s ! Shame on you and may you burn in hell . . .or better yet - may you all develop cervical spinal stenosis and live with it like I do.

Okay so first off I would just like to state that I am 6'2 179 Pounds and in good health. Next I would like to say that I took 4 Oxycodone 5/325 in one sitting maybe 3 weeks back and quit using the medication because my tolerance grew so fast. So now I have this 60 Mg oxycontin tablet that I obtained and I was just curious how it will effect me compared to the oxycodone as far as the time release. Also how many mg should I take to get a good euphoric buzz with out the feeling of throwing up. ## As far as the time-release goes, OxyContin lasts for about 12 hours, but only part of the Oxycodone is released when the pill is taken. The rest of the drug is coated to slow down its release into the body, which is the reason it relieves pain for so many hours. However, there's really no...

Walgreens is not an option as they are not a part of my insurance plan. ## I went to a local low cost pharmacy. They had and could order it. The cost was 600. But because insurance was charged from cvs 1600 a month they would not pay 600. They would only pay 300. I got member se...

Hey all, I was born with dislocated hips and have had more than 10 operations throughout my life since I was born to correct the issue, according to my dr. It was the worst case he has ever seen and my hip bones and joints have fused into my pelvis I can not open my legs at all or spread them I can not run or jump walking is extremely difficult and I get tired fast and my legs are in a lot of pain after 27 years I had enough of it so my bone dr referred me to a pain specialist. Fast forward to three years later now I’m 30 years of age. My only hope is for a complete hip replacement and after being on pain medication for the last 3 years nothing is working anymore. My dr had me on 60mg of oxyContin 3 times a day (180mg daily) and short acting oxycodone twice daily. Now, my question...

Is there a brown colored pill for the 60mg oxycontin OP... my new Prescription is brown with the number 60 on one side and And the letters op are both capitalized on the reverse side? If anyone can help please comment!!! ## Hi, Paul! How are you? Purdue, the manufacturer, describes it as red, but it looks more brownish in the images I've seen of it. Learn more Oxycontin details here. Where did you get it filled? Have you taken this dosage before and this one seems to be a different color? ## Don't worry too much Paul..same thing happened to me with my Hydrocodone. Different manufactures make different colors/types/numbers etc. what the pharmacy should have done was put a sticker on your bottle that says "This is the same medication you have been taking, it just make look dif...

I have been taking Oxycontin60mg but I am now in my coverage donut and can not afford my prescription. I had taken Oxycodone once before and it just didn't work as well. Was that phycological or is there a difference in the 2 medications. Run out of this months prescription in 3 days. Help. ## oxycontin = time released oxycodone. same drug. the time release will distribute the medication over a period of time, and without it the entire dose will be administered at once. ## Okay, I remove the incorrect information, because Pharma Guy is absolutely correct. They are the same medication, Oxycodone is the active ingredient in Oxycontin, the only operative factor is that it is in a controlled release formulation. So, whether or not the Oxycodone you get will work the same for you will al...

Since I started the 60mg op I have been feeling lots of discomfort in my chest, like pressure against my heart like a heart attack, but what I think is going on is it's backing up my bowels causing all this discomfort I never felt when I was just on norco. I've read here where op causes constipation, I'm wondering if this could be the reason for all the discomfort I'm in? I've noticed a change in my bowel movements, like smaller sized stools, not nearly as much is coming out like it used to do. Should I consider using a stool softener or a laxative to see if my discomfort subsides or should I head to the ER and say I'm having a heart attack only to find out I've got side effects happening related to this new drug I'm on? This feeling of constant pressure ...

I just realized when I took my nighttime meds that I had just taken an OxyContin 60mg about an hour before that. (so I took two about an hour apart). I'm afraid I could overdose, but I know addicts probably take much more than that, so I'm not sure if I'm safe or not...I've been on this drug for well over 6 years ( 60mg at least 3 of those years), so I think I have a pretty good tolerance for it-what should I do? I'm ready to go to sleep but I don't want to wake up dead.. ## I'm sorry I didn't see your post sooner. How are you doing? Opiate tolerant or not, that's still a pretty high dosage to jump up to and, in case it ever happens again, you should know the danger signs to watch for, just in case. The early symptoms of a possible overdose might incl...

Dark orange/red, round, 60 (one side), OC (other side) - Is this Oxycontin 60 mg? ## Yes, this is 60mgs of Oxycodone CR, a generic for Oxycontin, a potent narcotic pain reliever. Manufactured by Purdue Pharma. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. ## The OC namebrand works better than the new OP brand. they seem to only work half as good.

Involved in almost fatal motorcycle accident back in Aug. 1996 Lucky to have survived.Have Had many different procedures, and variations of.pain meds for this ongoing chronic pain issue, specifically in relation to my right shoulder, which was totally replaced in December 2010 I followed up with the required physical therapy and stopped use of all narcotic pain meds for approximately 9 months following recovery From the Fall of 2010 I was prescribed Oxycontin,in varying strengths, increases topped out at 180mg 3 times daily up to about 2 years ago when,of my own volition I started to taper down to 60mg 3 times daily Had been on this dosage until Feb. 10.By this time having weaned myself down so withdrawals wouldn't be as bad as I had found doing research 9n this particular subject. OPON on one side. 60 on the other side round. Reddish in color ## If the marking is OP 60, then it is a 60mg Oxycontin tablet, which contains the narcotic Oxycodone in a time released formulation. Learn more Oxycontin details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been given 60mg oxycontin for severe pain however I have some concerns. Because this is controlled release does that mean a dose of oxycodone throughout the day at 60mg? Or a dose of 60mg that last throughout. In other words is it gonna be like I took 60mg of oxycodone at once?

My daughter is in stage 4 lung cancer. Her liver levels were very high. Is it caused by OxyContin (60mg)? ## Hi Chi, I'm very sorry to hear about your daughter's condition. According to NIH.gov, "Oxycodone by itself has not been linked to serum enzyme elevations during therapy or to clinically apparent liver injury." However, they go on to note that the combination of oxycodone with acetaminophen is linked to many cases of acute liver failure caused by an unintentional overdose of acetaminophen. Source: livertox.nih.gov/Oxycodone Having said this, my theory is that OxyContin isn't the culprit. Is your daughter taking anything else or undergoing chemo? I hope she makes a full recovery.

I have been on regular Oxycodone- one 20mg pill every 4-6 hrs a day for approx 6 mos I used to be prescribed 10 MG TWO PILLS every 4-6hrs prior to the switch by my doc. Now, my pain has greatly increased and NOW he has given me 30 mg 4x a day and another script for oxycontin 60mg 2x a day. NOW, I am really drowsy ALL DAY where I was not at all before after this recent change in script. I also DO NOT get the same pain relief. Seems weird----go up in strength and dosage yet now just very tired all the time and less pain effective too..WHY, WHY?. I have read somewhere that the brand of oxycodone I take (KVK) ESPECIALLY the former 20mg was almost worthless for pain, yet their 10 mg was very effective. When ever I would take 2 of the KVK 10mg in past, it INDEED WAS MORE EFFECTIVE than just O...

Just switched over from oxy 30mg instant release 6x daily to oxycontin 60mg with 2 30mg IR for breakthrough. Been on this for a long time. I find that I'm very disappointed with the oxycontin 60 it seems to only last 5 hours at the most and I have many breakthrough pains during that period of time. I've heard of oxymorphone ER and want to know if this would be better for me due to opioid tolerance. If anybody can give me opinions on this please do. Thanks. ## First off, the 30mg that you're taking cannot be instant release tablets, the instant release is only available in a 5mg capsule. If you're taking 30mg tablets, then they have to be the regular release formulation, which is a generic for Roxicodone. Learn more Roxicodone details here. And the Oxycontin just doesn...

I am facing major surgery in four weeks time and I am fearful that the same will happen as in a similar operation last year. Cold turkey during recovery and no one would listen. I want to die. If they give me more morphine. Would that work. ## Yes, it could work, but only if they give you an equivalent dosage. Oxycodone is stronger than Morphine, so you would require a higher amount of the Morphine to equal what you currently take. Thus, if you are on 40mgs of Oxycodone, to prevent withdrawals and handle your pain accordingly, you'd need 60mgs of the Morphine. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It helps a lot as I dreaded that the same experience might again. I will ask for a plan that must include the correct dosage of morphine e.g. 60mg. Are you speaking from personal expe...

Have 80 mg oxycodone but scared to take that much, can I cut in half,? Quarters? ## Hello, Richie! How are you? No, Oxycontin is a time released formulation of Oxycodone and cutting it could cause you to get too much of the medication, at once. It should be taken intact. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I just found out that I am pregnant. I am prescribed oxycontin OP 60mg 3x daily. SSince I have found out, I reduced to 2x daily. I feel guilty even taking that, but the WD are really bad. My Dr. Is going to put me on 20mg and tapper me from there. I want to be off of these things b...
