These pills suck! They are nothing like the old ones ## Hi LadyM, Sorry to hear about your experience with those Oxycodone pills. From what I understand, because each pill is manufactured by a different company, not only is there going to be a slight variation of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers), but also if the medication is in generic form, it is permitted by the FDA to contain as much as 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient as well. For some people, these subtle differences are the equivalent of taking a completely different medication that may be absorbed and metabolized differently within your body (usually resulting in an increased or decreased potency). I hope this helps clear things up for anyone else trying to understand what might be going on with their medic... ...

What is the difference between a Ic oxycodone and ic oxycodone HCL? ## Hello, Joe! How are you? There is no difference, once just didn't include the HCL abbreviation, they are both the same medication. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Hello everyone & top o' the mornin to ya! the medicine you are speaking of and have described, is in fact, a 20mg oxycodone. Oxycodone HCL to be exact..which is pretty much a 20mg instant release percocet with no tylenol added..tiny round grayish pill with 14 and N P & scored imprints... side effects vary..im a little more dizzy than id like to be! not used to feeling this way from these kinds of meds. also the fillers are different & it does not dissolve in liquids or applesauce..but its for those same reasons that companies are changing medicines - so "certain people" cant abuse them. its to be taken by mouth only & the drug companies are trying to keep drug addicted people or needle addicted people from abusing medicines while all at the same time trying t... ...

Can't find who carries them ## Hi Casey, In which city or state are you trying to fill your script? Most people having trouble filling their scripts for Oxycodone tend to be based in Florida or Georgia, since they are the states that appear to be most affected by strict drug regulations. If it helps, there are an increasingly large number of threads that have a lot of activity on this topic, that you can browse through in the link below. I have used oxicodone 5, 10, and 20 mg oxicodone. The trouble with the slower active oxi is that you cannot tell when it is going to work plus it also slows down your GI function and I find I am short of breath. Why is it getting so difficult to fill a prescription for 5mg? And why is it so much more expensive? ## Are you referring to the time released? If so, it starts working within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. And which 5mg formulation are you asking about, the instant release, or the regular release? ...

I don't usually count the pills when I pick up my Rx. This time I did & felt a difference in the thickness. Some are marked NP on one side & K57 on one side & blank on the other. I'm assuming they're from different Mfg Co's but don't like to assume with my pain pills! Also, is it normal practice for Pharmacies to mix? ## I have a bad back and am wondering if being prescribed oxycodone would be the best course of action? ## Yes, these both contain 20mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation and mixing can be normal, if your pharmacy doesn't have enough of one to fill your prescription. There is nothing wrong with it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, ... ...
