My Dr prescribes 20mg oxycodone on a monthly basis for my chronic pain. I've been having to take a UA every month when I go to see him. Is this normal practice? I don't abuse the pills. He will only prescribe 75 20 b mgs per month. This is not enough to control my pain but it at least lessens it. Should I find a different dr? I've been a patient there for 5 years. There are no proprietary guidelines in the pharmaceutical industry that states all pills with the same ingredient must be the same color, size and/or shape. These are entirely up to the whit and whim of the manufacturer. Does anyone know if 2 15mg morphine tabs would be equal to 1 30mg oxycodone. Both are immediate release. I have been on the 30's but due to my upcoming surgery my Dr. feels that I need stronger pain med's. This is the highest dosage unit of immediate release morphine made anywhere, just the one brand, VERMOR-60 by Verve Healthcare. I take them simply because they are much cheaper than any other morphine sulphate I have ever come across, and I need three 'rescue' doses of an opioid analgesic daily since my Oxycontin 120mg tablets seem to last only 6 hours, and not the twelve claimed on the box... My doctor changed my meds from Morphine 80 mgs tid to 50 mgs oxycodone tid along with liquid 5 mgs as required. Why would she do this? I had lymphoma. ## I am sorry, but only your doctor can answer that question. My daughter had surgery. They put her on 15 mg morphine ER. One tablet every 12 hours. Within five hours she's in pain. Pain level reaches an eight on a scale of 1 to 10. Into hour eight. Called the doctor because I only have three more morphine pills left. They gave her oxycodone mg. take 1-2 pills every 6 hrs. My question is, she has 5/325 percocets from another surgery. I took half of a 15mg is it safe to take a percocet? ## Percocet contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen and the Oxycodone is also a narcotic, so combining them both could cause the risk of overdose, or even just depression of the central nervous system. I have been reading all the input and I would just like to say that I am a 35 year opiate dependent person with back problems and GI problems for some of the people suffering people I would just like to say that there are alternatives and ways of the attaining pain medication first of all they don't have a regular oxycontin 100 milligram and for that matter its a 160 milligram and its green sold in Canada not the US for the people with a the lot of issues try using oxymorphone instead of hydromorphone it's much better its time release you and it is a mixure of oxy and dilaudid.
