Nicotine Patch

I'm finally over the smoking cigarettes I hope LOL. I used the smoking aid, nicotine transdermal system 14mg, then the 7mg and nicotine lozenges 2mg for the cravings. I was surprised that it wasn't hard as I thought it would be. It's been two months smoke-free and counting. Just wanted to share my story with someone who might be thinking about quitting too. I'm feeling so much better breathing and food taste better also. I must admit I'm gaining a few pounds LOL but I'm working out more now as well to offset the increase of my appetite. ## Congratulations on being smoke free! :-) I've used the patch in the past and found it easy, but I also kept busy and walked a lot which really helped me while using the patch. I quit for a few years, but dummy me I started ...

In 1992 in Talahassee Fl, a Dr prescribed this patch that was new to the market at that tiune. I had smoked for 35 years and it worked very well, the second strength was not yet out after the 30 day full strength was taken! Cannot remember the name but it was a RX not OTC.

Hi I have been prescribed Percoset 10/325 for about a year, before that was on Lortab 10/500 for 6 years, my new pain management doctor has mentioned that there is a new pain patch that contains oxycodone and asked if I would like to try it. I told him no for now because frankly it kind of worries me. I have been on opiates for so long that I am naturally addicted to them, I have a torn trapezius muscle, need a knee replacement which they won't do yet because they say I am too young, have sciatica and degenerative disk disease along with carpal tunnel, so I have legitimate reasons for being prescribed the pain meds, what I am worried about with the patch, is will I have withdraw symptoms since I am not physically taking the pills, also, I tried using the nicotine patch years ago and...

I asked my doctor the same question yesterday, she said "no", because once it hits the air, the strength starts to dissipate, or weaken. So she put me on the lowest dose, as I hope to get off them and all meds eventually. ## No, you can't cut it in half and the reason for it is because it is time released and cutting the patch could cause you to get too much of the medication at once, which may result in a dangerous overdose. Learn more Fentanyl details here. Are there any other questions or comments? ## What about the new style without the gel. You know like the nicotine patches Can you cut those ones half? and just cut your dose.. thanks.. Dave ## I have been using the Mylan matrix (non-gel) patches for some time now and have had no problems with cutting them. I remove 1/6...

does anyone know if you can use nicotine patches while taking chantix ## Well they say you can still smoke while you are on it, because while it acts like nicotine does in the body, it doesn't have nicotine in it, so I would not see why the patches would cause a problem either, and there are no warnings not to do so, or of any adverse reactions in the monograph. ## I was advised by my doctor to not use the patch while on chantix. I have been using the drug now for a month and have had great sucess in stopping. The drug takes away the jitters that I had in past times of trying to stop. The patch will only make it harder to stop and can cause nausia just like the pill that is given to those that are alcoholics. I did not use any nicotine stop smoking aid this time. ## You should not u...

Where can I buy Cytisine strips over the counter in Nampa, Idaho? I want to stop smoking (actually I need to stop smoking). I have a surgery that needs to be done on my back and they want no nicotine in my body whatsoever. So please send me some information on this. I basically want to know if it is a nicotine free alternative to smoking because I cannot use Nicorette or the patches since they contain nicotine. I will be blood tested to make sure there is no nicotine in my body before my procedure. ## Look on eBay / Amazon or search online. It is easy to locate over the counter, but you will not find it sold in a local store. TBX-Free is one common brand but there are others. {amazon affiliate link added}

side effects ## Can I please have some information on the stop smoking drug Chanpix. Want to know about side affects and if required on prescription? ## The correct name of the drug is Chantix, the active ingredient is Varenicline. In the U.S. it is a prescription only medication. It is used to treat Nicotine addiction, but works differently than Nicotine patches or Zyban. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, headache, insomnia and abnormal dreams. Here's a link to our monograph for more information: ## I went to tijauana mexico and bought the drug chanpix for myself in order to stop smoking, I have currently lost my job and health insurance. I would like to now if it would be good for my health, should I trust it? (the drug chanpix) ## Are sore muscles and joints a...

Tried it all with my 35 year drug habit.Suffered a lot only to benefit drug companies greed.Im on my fourth day of recovery using cold turkey method and i feel more freedom now than i did after months of champix,nasel inhalers,gum and e cigs. There's two reasons for this.. 1 Because i no longer have nicotine in my body 2 Because i re educated myself from non profit making sources that told me the truth about nicotine. Knowledge is the key! Don't take nrt. The only conceivable reason to give an addict the substance he is addicted to would be to keep him hooked whether it be gum patches e ciggie or any type of nicotine. Would you give an alcoholic alcohol to help him recover?? Addicts make for very reliable consumers. Its almost like drug dealers competing for a junkies trade. So lon

I have COPD and Emphysema I would like to quit smoking this time so I ordered TBX-FREE but the box says not to use if you have depression or asthma. When I asked my Pulmonologist, he wouldn't even look at the box. Just asked if it was prescribed by a Doctor. I have taken Chantix twice both time quitting within 2 wks, first time for 1 year and the next time for a few short months, with no ill effects. I have used wellbutrin and nicotine patch that didn't help at all. ## I tried chantix twice, the first time had bad headaches and stomach aches so I stopped and got a refund. The second time was earlier this year (2016). I took it for the first 2 weeks and had slight side effects but no difference in my smoking urges! I'm not a "cold turkey" kind of person and I'm wi...

I have been on Chantix for not quite 3 weeks, including the starter pack. (The only thing is, I have missed a few times, but not any more!) Am I the only one struggling with quitting? I have cut back to half of what I was smoking. I made my mind up that Today, May 1st, I am officially a NON- Smoker. I haven't smoked since last night, but I still am having the urges. I just have to try to think of something else. One good thing is, when I asked my grown Daughter if this med worked for me, would she be willing to try it. She said yes, but low & behold, she quit cold turkey, a week ago Today!!! Nicotine is a really ADDICTING DRUG!!! I am so glad they finally came out with meds that are not like the patches or gum, where you get addicted to those too. I have heard of alot of people ...
