I'm on the fentanyl 50 transdermal gel patch and am not sure why they have chosen to put me on it so quickly. Can anyone shed some light for me on this subject? My PCP had me on a sript of 120mg oxycodone..skipped lortab.. anyway I was only having to take about 90mg of that oxy to maintain my pain from bulging disks and herniated disk in my neck. I had been self medicating for the pain since I had no insurance and finally got some. The docs are at odds that I may also have fibromialgia. Regardless, it was working pretty well and a pain mngmt doc came to the clinic and had a 1 time assesment of all patient with chronic pain issues and said I should be on the 25mg patch ...didn't work. Is this pill immediate release or control releassed and Up too how many milligrams can you take at once how many hours apart ? ## Hello, Erin! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by KVK Tech and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation, so it starts working about 15 to 20 minutes after you take it. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to how much you can take and when to take it, you should follow your doctor's instructions. Much of it depends on your pain levels and opiate tolerance. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So this means they are immediate release so ev... ...

What Else Will Work If Oxycodone 30 Does Not

Hi I have been taking oxycodone 30 mg, 2-3 pills every 4 hours. When I started 4 years ago, I was taking 5mg. I know that the longer you are on the meds, the more "used to" the pill your body gets and the more it needs for the same relief. The thing is, that even taking 90mg at a time, it really isn't working much and I am getting afraid that nothing is going to get rid of this pain. I have cancer and take the medication for the severe bone pain that I get as well as the pain from side effects from the chemo. Is there anything out there that anyone knows of. I keep asking my dr, and they just increase the oxy...It is so hard to get it to begin with...These pharmacies just treat you like crap, like I am some drug dealer on the street!!!! Or worse yet a drug addict that needs ... ...

For 18 months my pharmacy for 18 months gave me the same white round pill then changed it to a very round light gray pill and don't worry its the same 30 milligrams of oxycodone I've been giving you. I suffer from chronic back pain. I called my pharmacy after 2 weeks of taking it and told him these pills are not working and making me very sick. We have a great relationship and he told me that he will switch me back to the bigger white pill. So my question is what is the best manufacturer of oxycodone 30 milligram ? ...

I most say that I suffer of Depression and take medication for it which has been working for me but when I use it with Oxycodone I start to feel hopeless and emotional. its for pain its a oval shaped pill with gx es7 on it i would like to know what it is and what is made of ## Well this is definitely NOT Oxycodone. Pill Image This is called Ceftin it is 250mgs, the active ingredient is called Cefuroxime, it is a Cephalosporin class antibiotic. This treats many different types of infections, including respiratory, but it is definitely not, any type of narcotic drug. ## By the way, I am not sure who told you it was for pain, but it does not fall under that classification either, as I said, just an antibiotic. The only way it will help pain, is if the pain is being caused by an infection, and after a few days of taking this antibiotic and it starts to work, then the pain will naturally ease, as it would with any antibiotic once it started working and defe... ...

How do I ask my doctor to raise the dosage without her thinking i'm an addict or something ## You should just honestly tell her that you've been taking them as prescribed, but are having more pain than usual. It is perfectly normal for your body to get used to the dosage you're taking of any medication that you've been taking for a long time and for it to no longer work as well. Is oxycodone hcl ir 5mg tab habit forming and how bad? ## As with any highly regulated narcotic there is always a demand for it, whether it be for some sort of chronic pain, or for abusers on the black market. From time to time it goes on backorder because there may not be enough to meet the demand. From working in a pharmacy it doesn't seem to be as commonly used whether it be for legal or illegal purposes as percocet, vicodin, or oxycontin ## Yes, Oxycodone is a narcotic, so it can be habit forming, however, how much really depends on various factors. Such as how long someone is taking it, how much they are taking and the person's own body. People that abuse it are going to have more problems than those that just take it as prescribed. Are there any other questions or comments... ...

Opana not working

I take Opana 20mg three times a day for chronic pain, along with Roxicodone 15mg 4X's a day. I was wondering if anyone out there had noticed that the Opana's don't do anything as much as the Roxis/Oxycodone do? I also just use them as perscribed and am only in my 20's and have had over 35 surgeries. I go see my pain management physician in a couple of days and want to know if anyone out there has tried something similar to what I'm not and what they might have been switched to to get better relief of pain. Thank you for any advice. ...

I have used oxicodone 5, 10, and 20 mg oxicodone. The trouble with the slower active oxi is that you cannot tell when it is going to work plus it also slows down your GI function and I find I am short of breath. Why is it getting so difficult to fill a prescription for 5mg? And why is it so much more expensive? ## Are you referring to the time released? If so, it starts working within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. And which 5mg formulation are you asking about, the instant release, or the regular release? ...

Hello im currently taking oxycodone 30 mg i was taking 15 mg it seems like the 15s worked much better . I wonder why . anyone else havs this happen or have an explanation.please help ## Hello, D Cobb! How are you? I'm sorry that they aren't working well for you. Are they both regular release tablets? The reason I'm asking is because if the 15mg was regular release and the 30mg ones are time released Oxycontin tablets, then that may explain the issue. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Such a problem could also occur if anything else has changed…. do you take the new ones at the same intervals you took the 15mg ones? How many times a day ... ...

Oxycodone Prescriber

Hello, I just found this forum. First off... I live in eastern kentucky and am wondering if anyone could give me some advice. My doctor just suddenly passed away and has left all of his patients with no way to get their prescriptions. It was a private practice with no other doctors working with him, just a NP to assist. I've been on the same medication ... same dose same amount for years with no issues as far as drug panels or anything. I've undergone multiple procedures and surgeries as well. I am a legit chronic pain patient with multiple health problems and I need a new doctor. I went to 1 doctor whose PA saw me, he didn't assess me, refused my medical records, cut my medication dosage to way less than even half of what Ive been on for years. He told me the doctor had alr... ...

what is difference between percocet and oxycodone

My doc has been prescribing me percocet 10 mg. And now he prescribed me oxycodone 5mg. Which is stronger? The percocet 10's i have been taking for almost 2 years and i told him that they wasn't working that's when he prescribed me the oxycodone 5'mg. And they aren't working either. I am taking pain medication for surgery's . Since the oxycodone 5'mg aren't working what should i ask for. Now hydrocodone doesn't agree with me. It makes me sick.and i would prefer to stick with oxycodone. What should i ask for ? ## Percocet is actually a combination medication that contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, because the Acetaminophen helps increase the efficacy of the Oxycodone. So, if you were taking it, there should have been two dosages listed, such a 10/325... ...

How are you gents? I am very sorry that you're both having such a problem. There have been quite a few complaints recently about their product. If you can't locate an alternative, you might be better served to try a higher dosage or switch to a different medication, if your doctor agrees to it. How long have you been taking the one from Mallinckrodt? There can be slight fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic to the next, so it might be slightly lower than the ones you were taking.
