Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. I am having cataract surgey. My Dr put me on 4 different eye drops. They were very expensive. Are they really necessary for this surgery? ## Hi Mary, May I ask the names of all 4 eye drops you were prescribed? If I know what you have, I will be able to do some research and answer your question to the best of my ability. ## Moxifloxacin + Ketorolac + Prednisolone + Brimonidine Very expensive... Am I on the right track to healing? ## Hi Mae, I'm very sorry to hear about the battery acid incident with your eye. I couldn't even begin to fathom how that might've felt, but one thing that doesn't add up in my mind is how rosacea (i.e. reddening or swelling of the skin) correlates with battery acid in your eye..? Did some of the acid get on your face/skin too? Vigamox (moxifloxacin) on the other hand is used to treat bacterial infections in the eyes, so that to me seems like an appropriate course of action if an infection has been confirmed. Doxycycline is also used to treat a variety of bacterial infections...where...

can i use zymaxid in place of vigamox? ## They are two different medications, though they treat the same conditions. Zymaxid contains Gatofloxacin and Vigamox contains Moxifloxacin. Learn more Zymaxid details here. Learn more Vigamox details here. Your pharmacy can't just make a switch though, your doctor would have to approve it. There might be a reason they prefer one over the other, since some are found to be better at treating certain conditions. Which one have you been prescribed? ## My 21 month old son has a bacterial eye infection & was prescribed Vigamox. However the insurance pharmacy I go to only covers Zymacid & I am very hesitant in using it & am just thinking of purchasing the eye drops.
