Is this really good for my back? What else is it good for? What is the average price for a prescription to be filled? ## I can't really tell you if this will help you or not. Pain medications can affect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results from taking it, but there are others that it just doesn't work for. Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to actually try it. To answer your other question, Morphine is a narcotic pain reliever used to treat moderate to severe pain. I wouldn't suggest trying to use it for any other purpose outside of that. Did your doctor just give you a prescription for it without saying a word? ## I have stage 4 cancer I've been taking Vicodin 500 mg 6 times a day now I switch to 15 mg of morphine and I feel horrible don...

Can I take two (2) of the Morphine Sulf 15mg ER, at the same time to equal 30mg? Will it release double since it is two pills? Will it equal to just one (1) pill 30mg ER? Please help, Lost in Ftw ## Hello, Queen B! How are you? Yes, two of them would both release and it would be equivalent to taking 30mgs, however, you should not do so, unless your doctor approves of your taking that dosage. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so much sorry for late reply

I just went to a new pain dr. For 8 years I was on OxyContin 30mg. My insurance wouldn't pay so I was switched to 30 mg ms continue er. This worked fine. All with 5/325 Hydrocodone up to 4 daily for breakthrough. Within the last four months the old Doctor switched to 30mg IRR without telling me why the change. I think just mixed up. Actually it worked basically the same with the breakthrough meds. Now new doc changed to MS Contin er generic with same amount of breakthrough melds. I haven't started yet but am worried it won't work as well. Help ## Since it is a lower dose, it may not manage your pain as well and you may also experience some withdrawal symptoms. As listed by the FDA, withdrawal symptoms may possibly include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills and diarrhea. Is the...

I have reduced my pain medication over the past few years from around 8-10 immediate release Percocet a day, (which in retrospect seems kinda crazy for my intractable pain), to 3 morphine er 30's a day, with 2 15mg IR's for breakthrough pain. Desperately trying to reduce them had been MY desire, not doctors. That being said, my constant, chronic pain was hard to manage at 3 ER's a day, so my doctor had raised then to 4 a day. That dosage seemed perfect for me, and after a long time, had enabled me to work and try to get my life back on track after years of suffering. I've moved recently, (which means new doctors, so you know the drill), and he had immediately reduced what was finally working, back down to 3 a day. I should mention that just before moving, I had requested th

which is stronger morphine er 30 mg. tab. which im on now . was taking oxycodone 30mg did'nt seem to help went back to dr. he prescribed Hydromorphone 8 mg.tab. ohy god they did not seem to help the pain got worse so he put me on morphine sulf er they do not seem to help im thinking of asking for the oxycodone 30mg . back because of the pain and i don't know if that will help please help me to figure out which one is the strongest?? ## Hello, Daniel! How are you? To give you a comparison, Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so for each 30mgs of Oxycodone, you'd need 45mgs of Morphine to be equivalent. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and...

my drug insurance co sugested i take this morphine in place of oxycodone 20 mg cr tab.. what is your impression of that??// ## Doesn't work for me. See if he will give you the IR oxycoxone for breakthrough pain. That should help.'that's an awful low dose of extended release morphine. Good luck! ## 30mgs of Morphine is equivalent to the 20mgs of Oxycodone that you were taking. However, it doesn't work as well for everyone, similar to Full of Heart, when I was on pain management and had to switch, due to my insurance no longer covering Oxycontin, it helped, but never worked quite as well as the Oxycontin did. They are both narcotics, so the side effects are very similar and may include: nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Are there any other questions? ## I Want...

my doc gave me a slow release morphine sulf 30mg. what is the difference between this and a slow releace oxycotin? ## Hello, Vickie! How are you? Oxycontin contains a time released formulation of Oxycodone and the other is a time released formulation of Morphine. The Oxycodone is stronger by 1 and a half times. These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can one take morphine sulfate 30mg er with clonazepam 1mg at bedtime? ## Hello, Catrina! How are you? Taking both can cause more severe sedation, nausea, drowsiness and dizziness than usual, as reported by the FDA, so you should only do so, if your doctor approves. The FDA classified Morphine as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Clonazepam carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with?

I ran out of percocet 10mg for breakthrough pain due to insurance problems. The soonest I can get a refill will be in 2 days. I take Morphine Sulfate ER 30mg every 12 hours. My question is, how much additional morphine could I take over the next 2 days to compensate for not having the percocet for breakthrough pain. I sufer from chronic pain. ## Hello, Bob! How are you? How many Percocet do you take daily? It would best not to change your dose of Morphine, with your doctor's approval. However, without knowing your total dose of Percocet, I can't give you even a basic comparison to help. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipati...

My insurance change thus my pm doc changed. He switched me from 100mg er morphine 3xday with 4 10/325 percocet daily and 2 350mg soma to up to 3 30mg ir morphine 4x daily only for pain. No breakthrough med and no muscle relaxer. Am I going to stiffer major wd?or is this captains with what I was taking? Been on for 5 years to build up to this amount, two failed back surgeries, constant pain and spasms, with some foot surgeries and other pain issues. Any advise will help I'm terrified of the wd my body is dependant plus need to be able to function, move around and take care of "life" as it happens ## How are you doing? That is definitely a lowering of your dosage, so you may experience some withdrawal symptoms, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, heada...

I am prescribed Morphine Sulfate 30mg ER. My pharmacy gave me Morphine Sulfate 30mg SR. I only know because the medication is a different color and I had to research it when my pain became unbearable. I thought they gave me the wrong medication. Is there a difference between SR and ER? Or could the pain be due to the medication being from a different manufacturer than I usually receive? ## SR and ER are both just abbreviations that mean the same thing, they denote it as being a time released formulation of Morphine. Learn more Morphine details here. And yes, the pain may be just due to slight fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one manufacturer to the next. Does it list the name of the manufacturer on them? Or can you post back with the markings?

I accidentally bit into my morning dose of 30mg morphine sulf. Er at 7am.. it is going on 11:30am. Do I need to worry about overdose? ## Hello, Sunnydaze59! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? If it is the dose you normally, I doubt you'd experience much of a problem, unless you completely chewed up the tablet. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Getting more of it, at once, than you should may result in more severe side effects being experienced and overdose is possible, if you're not opiate tolerant. When unsure, it is always best to contact poison control, or your doctor. If you're able to bite ...

I am currently taking 60mg of morphine sulfate ER twice a day and 30 mg of oxycodone HCL four times a day. For some reason I came up short one morphine on the last day of my prescription, so I only have one I can take instead of two until I get my new script tomorrow morning. Instead of taking the last morphine this morning, I waited and took it around 4pm tonight. Will I have withdrawl symptoms from missing a dose of Morphine, but continuing to take the oxycodone 30mg? ## If you didn't have any during the interim, where you didn't take it until much later, then no, you should be fine. However, if you do, they'd be mild and may include rebound pain, diarrhea, dizziness and fever, as listed by the FDA. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the ...

I take 15mg of MS sulfate ER 1 two times a day I had to reduce to this dose as I had hives itching and was miserable on 30mg 1 two times a day. Now whenever I swallow the morphine it burns my throat and I end up with my throat feeling swollen and very hoarse. If I try not to take it Im in trouble also. Is the coating something I could be sensitive too? ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? Yes, you may be reacting to the coating. Are you making sure to take each tablet with a full 8 ounce glass of water, unless you're on fluid restriction? I've sometimes experienced this with pills if my mouth was too dry, when I swallowed them. I am taking morphine sulfate er 30mg tablets twice a day and also taking morphine sulfate imm rel 15mg once, sometimes twice a day. Finances won't allow me to get the morphine er at this time. Question: what is dosage of morphine imm per day without morphine er for 5 or 6 day until I can get the morphine er? ## They are both Morphine, so the dosage would be the same, however, the problem you are going to run into is that it is not going to last as long and since it is being released into your body much faster, this will potentiate the side effects, such as the nausea, dizziness and constipation that it can cause. Have you consulted with your doctor? You should really do so, before you try anything of this nature. It would probably work better for managing your pain to take a lower d...

what does a morphine 30 mg look like? ## Morphine 30mg tablets and capsules come in many different colors, shapes, and sizes. for chronic pain ## Morphine sulfate (30 mg) is used to relieve severe or agonizing pain and suffering. You can view a more detailed description of Morphine, by clicking on the link below... Now my Doctor stated that my dosage needs to be lowered to a new "safety standard dose" of no more than 100 mg per day. Now what? I appreciate his concern and understand he needs to report to "the powers that be" for each pill he dispenses. What about my pain? I am left with no ...

My boyfriend is perscribed morphine sulfate extended release, and he is currently getting thees oblong ones (e655/60). In the bottle he found one that was just a 1/2. They are skinny and kinda soft so easily broken on accident. In the past he has gotten the wax-coated ones, and said the ER part is in the coating. In these, however, there is no coating. In a broken one- is the ER part also messed up, or is the ER mixed into the whole pill? Wanting to know if taking 1/2 of these is simply 30mg ER instead of 60mg ER. ## Hello, Ashley! How are you? No, it is not safe to take a broken tablet, because that can defeat the timed released formulation and may result in overdose. That said, he should take it to his pharmacy and tell him, they may replace it for him. I've had this happen before...
