I missed Wednesday pill last week and missed Saturday and Sunday so I took Sat and Wednesday pill today. Then Tuesday I'm gonna take Sundays and Mondays then Wednesday take Tuesdays and Wednesday pill so its back on the right day.. BT I'm also on my period for the secons time this month on the blue pills I been in a lot of stress too...should I stop taking them and start a new pack? ## Hello, Shay Shay! How are you? Skipping pills will also cause you to start your period at odd times, because it is lack of hormones in the last week of pills that actually allows you to have your period. There would be no point in taking Wednesdays pill so long after missing it, the doubling up thing only helps within a day or so of missing it. You need to just get yourself back on track by taking...

I took a full month and after my last pill of the month I missed 3 days because the pharmacy was out of pills.. Then I started my New pack took a pill the first day and second day after taking the pill the second day they night I had intercourse could I be pregnant?? ## Yes, there could be a chance that you are pregnant, not a very high one, but the possibility is definitely there, so you may want to check. In the future, it would be best to pick up a new supply a few days, before you'd run out and, if your pharmacy doesn't have it in stock, then you should try a different pharmacy. Transferring a prescription is a simple matter. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting and PMS-like symptoms. I missed three days of the blue pills (really stressful time with a lot on my mind) I was on week two and missed Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This morning (Sunday) I woke up with my period? What do I do? I'm not sure whether to just keep going or start a new pack. ## If you miss more than 2 pills, you should go ahead and start a new pack to get back on track. You will also want to use some other form of protection for about a week, since missing even one pill can increase your chances of getting pregnant. You can always keep the ones left in this pack around, for such a time as you may drop and lose a pill, or for a future time where you would like to take extras, because having your period then would be inconvenient. Are there any other questions? ## I was wondering how thick the...

I have been on Sprintec for about a year now, and I always renew my prescription on time. However this time I did not. I just got off of the white pills yesterday, and I have no blue pills for today. Will I continue to bleed or will I stop? ## Hello, Nya! How are you? It should still stop, but you will no longer be protected from pregnancy, until you have taken a full week of the active pills. Restarting may also cause some spotting, according to the FDA. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, cramps, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

i was on tri sprintec and june 27 i went to the drug store and she gave me these tri previfm pills but i started bleeding friday nite june 24 i had missed 2 pills now im still bleeding i just staretd taking the tri previfm pill june 27 cause it was a monday. my period was june 1. ## You are more than likely bleeding because you missed taking some of the pills. When you take them all, as you should, there is usually a week where you don't take any, or take a placebo pill with no active ingredients, that triggers your body to start your menstrual cycle. Therefore, by missing 2 tablets, you have done the same thing. You should, however, still continue to take them daily, as prescribed and make sure you don't miss any more of them, because that puts you at risk of pregnancy. Are the...

I forget to start my sprintec pill on Sunday ,so I start it on Monday, is that okay? This is first time am using these pills. ## Hello, Sonia! How are you? You can start it any day, it doesn't have to be on a Sunday. If you start it the first or second day of your period, you will be immediately protected against pregnancy. However, if you start it at any point later in your cycle, you'll need to take it for a full 7 days, before it reaches its full level of effectiveness in your body, which means using a backup method of protection, until the 8th day. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I started my period yesterday which was Tuesday ...

I missed the last 4 white pills. Can i still get pregnant? ## Okay, if I remember correctly, those are the inactive tablets that you take the week you have your menstrual cycle? If so, then no, you cannot get pregnant by skipping those ones, you are still protected as long as you've taken all of the active pills as you are supposed to do. Does It Matter What Time Of Month My Period Comes In Correlation To The Sprintec Birth Control Pills? ## Why did my period come in the middle of taking the blue pills?

This month I skipped the white pills so I wouldn't have my period. Instead of the white pills I went right to the new pack of blue pills. The sunday the white pills would have stopped, I started to spot, it's not a full period but it is annoying and has now been going on for a little more than a week. Is this normal, how long should the bleeding last, is is okay to be taking the blue pills while on my "period"??? ## Basically, your body was expecting that one week break from hormones and it didn't get it, you continued to take the hormone tablets. It is normal to have some spotting and breakthrough bleeding, when this occurs. I can't say how long it will last, for some people, it could be several weeks. And yes, it is okay to take them while you are having the bl...

Last week I started my new pack of tri sprintec. I somehow missed three pills in week one, and took two pills that Sunday (the day I realized). I didn't start a new pack, and this week I had unprotected intercourse five days after Sunday. I know my risks for pregnancy are very high, but are there any suggestions on what to do now? ## @Alexa, When you engage in that level of intimacy with your partner, assuming the risk of pregnancy is something that both individuals have to live with and be mentally prepared for in the event that something does/doesn't go as planned. But "what's done is already done" and you can't go back in time to reverse it... So with that said, I would just encourage you to continue taking your pills as prescribed and from this point onward, ...

I forgot to take Thursday thru Saturday of week 2 trisprintec pills. I went ahead and took the three that I missed and now I'm cramping. Should I continue my pack since I have one week left or just start a new pack after my period? ## Hello, Chloe! How are you? At the point where you miss that many, the FDA instructions usually tell you to start a new pack. However, unless your doctor says otherwise, you can start your new pack the first day of your period. That will ensure that you're immediately protected from pregnancy. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. I forgot to to take the blue active tri-sprintec pills for 3 days. Days Thursday, Friday, Saturday on the first row of pills. On Sunday morning I started bleeding a lot. Should I take 3 on Sunday and take 2 on Monday or start a new pack or just continue the same pack.. And how long should I wait to have intercourse.. I don't know what to do.. please help! please and thank you ## Hello, Diana! How are you? You are at the point where you should just start a new pack and you'll need to wait a full 7 days of taking the active tablets, before having unprotected intercourse, again. That means it will not be safe to do so, until the 8th day. If you have a smart phone, there are apps that you can download, many of them free, that you can set to remind you to take your medications. My fi...

I am on my second pack on sprintec (generic orthocyclen). I missed my first pill of the pack and when I looked online and it said it was okay to start a pack one day late and to take the first pill and throw the missed one away and that no backup contraception was needed. So I just took my pill at the normal time the next day and took the rest of the pack as normal. I had unprotected sex three days after starting the new pack and then I found more information that said I should have waited a week before having unprotected sex. My period is now later than normal, but I have had signs and symptoms of my period, but they could also be signs of pregnancy. I took a hpt today on the day I thought I would start bleeding and it was negative. My mother had a heart attack on the second week of my...

I've been on sprintec for two years nowand have always been regular to the day to get my period except when had my son eight years ago. I'm now going on two cycles with no period and am worried. I forgot to take the pill at the same time for a few days. I've taken a test a week after I missed and it came back negative however with my son I had to take seven tests within three months before I got a positive result even though I was pregnant that entire time. Any input? ## Hi Jacey, If it helps ease your concerns, irregular and/or missed periods are actually listed as common side effects for most types of oral contraceptives. I don't have a complete answer as to why that is, but it's probably due to the fluctuation of hormones during the time that you have to take a ce...

I started sprintec a week ago, I've never taken bc before. I took the first blue pill in the pack before I got my period, my doc said to take the Sunday after my period but I didn't wait, I started taking it when I bought them, now im late and I just had a single spot of blood in my undies. Is this normal for a person to miss a period and when do I take the white pills? Do I have to stop the blue ones and take the white ones inorder to have a period? ## I will explain a few things, so hopefully this will clear up your questions for you. The reason your doctor tells you to start them the first day of your period is so that you will be immediately protected against pregnancy. If you start at any other time, you must take the pills daily, for at least 7 days, to be protected. Howev...

I have been on tri-sprintec for the past 6 months. I recently skipped the sugar pills, that way I wouldn't have my period for a special occasion. I started my new pack right away and this past week I have been bleeding, very lightly, but I was wondering is it normal to bleed if you skip the white pills and start a new pack right away? ## Yes, this can happen and is perfectly normal. Your body was just ready to continue with its normal cycle and you disrupted it. It can also happen because your body just isn't used to having the hormones that week. If the bleeding doesn't stop or gets heavier, then please see your doctor. Do you have any other questions? ## Hello - I take Tri-Sprintec but it has recently changed to Tri-Previfem. Anyways, I was wondering if missing the last 2 ...

I am taking sprintec for migraine prevention, not birth control. I typically take 3 months of active pills beck taking a week off to have a period. I missed 3 days in a row during my second pack of active pills. I tried to catch up by taking two a day, but it was too late and a full blown period started. So i stopped taking them in the hopes of letting the period run its course. It has been 5 days of (very) heavy bleeding now, with clots. I have stopped the pill for 3 days now. When should I restart, or should i see if bleeding stops? ## It really would have been best, according to FDA directions, to have continued taking them, this can happen if you miss to many in a row, but should resolve itself, once you complete your next cycle. Other side effects are listed as possibly including n...

I take Tri-Sprintec and I was wondering if missing the last 2 white pills in the package (for Friday and Saturday made any difference at all and if it's okay for me to just ignore those and begin my next package which starts Sunday? By not taking the last 2 white pills, will my period stop for the last 2 days of my cycle? ## The last week of pills in the Tri-Sprintec 28 day pack are inactive, and can be skipped, however, this will not alter the duration of your period, it should still last as long as it normally does, unless your doctor states otherwise. Ref: Tri-Sprintec Information The FDA lists the typical side effects of hormonal contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood changes, and irregular vaginal bleeding.

I have been on Sprintec for over 10yrs now. This week I missed my pill on Thursday night and Saturday night, which was my "week 3" row. I had intercourse with my partner Tuesday night, but haven't had any since because I rather be safe then sorry. What I did was on Thursday morning when I realized I had not taken my pill the night before, I took it and then continued my schedule as always. I have been spotting because I was about to start my cycle which actually came tonight (Sunday). Tonight when I realized I had not taken my last week 3 pill the night before, I took it immediately along with my Sunday (white, sugar pill). My question is, are there any chances of me being pregnant due to this? ## Any time you miss a pill for more than 24 hours, there is a risk of pregnancy,...

Long story short I was unable to get my last birth control prescription filled so I haven't had for about two weeks now. Will I just have to start over at the next month and be fine?? ## I was wondering if after taking the IC tri-sprintec tablets for three weeks if i would be protected against pregnancy? ## After missing that many days, you will need to fully start over in order to be protected against pregnancy, generally that requires taking it for a full cycle, IE: one month. Vaughn, you are only protected while actively taking it, so you should continue beyond 3 weeks, if you are actively engaging in intercourse. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, mood changes, and weight changes. R...
