my cardiologist neglected to specify what type of metropolol 50 on my prescription and so the pharmacist gave me metropolol succinate 50. when i returned weeks later for my refill i discovered that he now had changed the pills to metropolol tartarate 50. Is this going to be a problem for me or does it make no difference? ## No, that just designates the specific chemical salt that the drug is derived from, but it actually has not effect on the efficacy of the medication. Why do doctors online and offline pretend that Metropolol does NOT cause hair loss, when there are patients online and right in front of offline doctors complaining that this beta blocker is making them lose their hair!? Instead of being honest, they blame the patient's genetics or make out like it's some other cause--stress, maybe, or diet, blah-blah.
