blood pressure ## Metoprolol Tartrate Click Here ## I have been taking Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg, twice a day since my heart operation in 2006. Throughout this time I had "occassional" dizziness. However, this past April I nearly fully collasped while walking in my house. Thinking it was my heart, I spent 3 days in the hospital and was tested "head to foot" and no problems were found. Since that time I would have "passing out" symtons while walking , and would completly stop, and it would disappear. This was happeing frequently. In May I passed out while standing. On June 1 dosage was dropped to 25mg ONCE a day. I am now fine ## I am currently taking clonidine 1 mg once a day, Metropol 100 mg 2x a day, and nifipine 90 mg once a day. I have white coat and anxiety. My doctor has had me on Metoprolol 100mg succinate once a day and just switched me to 100mg tartrate twice a day since my BP was high in his office. Is this dangerous or the dosage too high? Seems like a high dosage. ## Hello, Kera! How are you? What are your bp levels at other times? If it's really only high, when you're in the doctor's office, a medication isn't necessary. Even an ER won't treat for that, they will only do so if levels are dangerously elevated. As to the medication, it is actually safe in doses up to 450mgs a day. ## I take Lisinopril 10 mg a day and Metoprolol 100 mg at night. My blood pressure is still elevated around 150s/90s. My cardiologist has told me to double the Metoprolol to 100 mg a day. That seems like a l...

are these the same drug? I have both and want to be sure they are the same. ## Metoprolol Succinate is an extended-release medication and Metoprolol Tartrate is an immediate-release medication. Because Metoprolol Tartrate is an immediate release tab, it would most likely require the patient to take additional pills throughout the day in comparison to the extended release version. Additionally, generics may also have different levels of potency (as they are allowed to contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredient). Furthermore, each tablet has its own composition of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) that can also significantly effect the absorption rate of the drug itself, making it more or less effective overall. I hope this info helps to answer your question! ## T...

I am on Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg twice daily for the past month and I seem to be feeling weak on some days. It is prescribed to me for sinus tachycardia. Someone recommended that I start taking vitamins to help restore my energy levels. With that said, would it be safe to do so with this medication? I am thinking of taking a supplement containing Calcium 100mg, Magnesium 100mg & Potassium 15mg. ## There are no problems listed between using the vitamins with the Metoprolol, but you should check with your doctor first. Magnesium and Potassium can both have an effect on your heart and blood pressure, if they are too low, or too high, which means that in your case, a careful balance must be maintained. This, it would be best if your doctor did a blood test to check your levels of them, ...

I started Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg being one tab every 12 hours. I was in the hospital with a blood pressure of 200/130, sometimes higher with a high pulse and irregular heartbeat. I experienced tightening in chest, slight difficulity in breathing, and extreme variables in my pressures. Most of the time they are in the normal range, but occasionally my systolic has dropped under 100 and my diastolic was 58. I am monitoring my foods and am also taking Ativan twice daily. I am terrified. Anybody else have these variables in pressures? I have only been on the medicines for four weeks now. I have had diabetes and thyroid neg testing. I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder??? Never heard of it before. All my family including five siblings have high blood pressure as well. ## These types of vari...

What should I do? I took 2 metoprolol 50mg but my dose is 1. My other meds are white and looked alike. ## It is always best to check with your doctor to be sure. Did you experience any adverse events? In most cases, doubling up just once isn't a huge problem, according to the FDA, but you may experience lower blood pressure and heart rate than usual, as well as nausea and dizziness. ## I missed my dose at 11pm but took it at 2am. Can i still take my metoprolol tartrate 25mg dose at 11 tonight? ## I've been taking Metoprolol 100 mg 1x daily and just found out that my pharmacy gave me 50mg pills which I've been taking 1x a day and only recently realized the mistake. What will happen when I start back on 100 mg tomorrow?

I take 25mg of metoprolol tartrate twice a day. I had already taken my usual dose in the am but for my evening dose accidentally took a double dose. Should I be worried? ## Hello, Glostixx! How are you? Did you suffer any adverse effects? That's not a dangerous dose to take, unless your blood pressure and heart rate is already low. But it could cause you to experience more side effects than normal, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. It would be best to inform your doctor to be safe. ## I usually take 100 mg of Metoprolol succinate twice a day; 1 in the morning and one in the evening... Can you tell me the difference between the above med. and Metoprolol TAB TAR 100 MG? Thank you ## Metoprolol Suc (Succinate) ER is an extended release (hence the ER in the name) tablet. Metoprolol Tar (Tartrate) is an immediate release medication. Would you happen to know if these two drugs are coming from different manufacturers? Also, I am guessing that with the TAR you have to take more doses throughout the day than with the SUC? Hope this helps! You can read more about this drug on the page for ...

Side affects. Of losartan-hctz 100-25 mg tab metoprolol. Tartrate 5pmg and adipex. 37.5 mg ## Hello, Anna! How are you? If you're taking it for high blood pressure, you might not be able to take Adipex, because it is a stimulant that can cause elevated blood pressure and heart rate, which may put you in danger. It can also cause other side effects, such as nervousness, insomnia, dizziness, headache, irritability and carries the risk of being habit forming. There are no interactions or problems listed between these two medications, that I can find, but I strongly urge you to check with your doctor, before taking the Adipex to make sure that it is safe for you to do so. Is there anything else I can help with?
