There are many generic manufacturers and each one of them will make a pill that looks different. There are no rules saying that pills with the same ingredient have to look the same! The size, color, shape and imprint will all vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. I've been on methadone due to cp for the last 9 years, presently taking 120mg. daily. My current pm has adopted a new "NO METHADONE" policy and he will be weaning me off while placing me on some other medication. the problem is i've been on just about every other pain med.I'm 55 years old and don't play games i never failed a ua or refused any procedures. He said the office is no longer going to assume the responsibility of prescribing the methadone. Does any one know of a doctor in the Floyd area of Va. I've been on methadone since 06. I went to pain mang. For a year. Someone in family got.mad because I wouldn't sell my meds + called my pain dr. + said I was selling my meds. Pain dr.let me go. I am new to the methadone and was wondering why my doctor would put me on methadone when he knew I had been addicted to Oxycontin before and had to go into the hospital for the withdrawals. They put me on the liquid methadone to get me off of the Oxycontin. How bad is it going to be to get off of the methadone if that time ever comes? class work -however i am having trouble finding this ## VA had me on methadone for over 15 years. ..volunteered for methadone cessation with the VA because I kept going into DTs because USPS/UPS kept delaying my meds. Sometimes it would take a week to get my RX. ....then, when I dropped below 25mg, the cramps diarrhea and associated pain was causing me to be suicidal. I am on a very low dose of methadone now. My doctor is terrified to increase it. It's obvious I need more but I'm a bit skeptical to of this leading to a never ending rise. But I'm topping up and I'm sick and in pain. He seems terrified to prescribe anything though. Are all docs like this or just some? I also have very bad problems with anxiety ruining my life. Nightmares, ptsd, etc. A pharmacist said I should be on klonopin for the night mares and the night pains. But that's another drug he won't hear of giving me. Am I with the wrong guy? Or am I with the sensible one stopping me from going down a bad road? Confused right now. Want to alleviate pain and suffering quickly but don't want to risk a worse addiction later. I was in a auto 04/2010. My back is broke in several places and my L shoulder. My family an I were told I need a 24 hr operation on my back and a 12 hr operation to replace my shoulder. Methadone is the worst drug. There are alternative ways to detox from opiates. I experienced cold turkey withdrawals after being on methadone for 12 years (90 mg. daily). Living hell. Severe withdrawals lasted two weeks, but less severe withdrawals lasted two months. Further withdrawals lasted for months. I couldn't think, walk, write... I was so miserable.
