I am taking Lyrica of 150 twice daily & feeling really dizzy & like a drunk person. I cannot even walk properly. The thing is that the pain is still there. ## Lyrica can cause those types of symptoms as side effects. Learn more Lyrica details here. And this isn't actually an analgesic that will relieve pain immediately, it can take 4 to 6 weeks for this to reach its full effects in your body and to see if it works for you. However, with those side effects, it may not be the right medication for you to take and you should look into your other treatment options. Is there anything else I can help with? ## When I started Lyrica @ 75mg 3x /day, I felt exhausted but relieved that I could deeply sleep for the greater part of 3 days, only getting up for bathroom & to eat, if my ...

I accidently took 150 mgs of Lyrica at one time. Will I be ok? I tried to vomit and can't. I am freaking out. ## Relax, you will be okay. You are not the first to do this and people involved in the first study ingested more than this. It is okay, just be more careful. ## Vomiting will not help. Just keep drinking as many fluids as you can to avoid any toxicity. I doubt very very much you would be toxic though because you would have known it by now with a high fever, or chills, lots of sweating, inability to think or talk well. If you dont have these symptoms relax and go on with life.

Hi, I am taking 2 x 75mg Lyrica each morning for overactive bladder pain. It has worked well and also changed my mood in a positive way. However, I would rather not be taking any medication and was advised I could just stop taking it. I did that for 3 days and felt tranqualised! Very tired and eyes not focusing well. I took 1 x 75mg tonight and slowly feeling back to normal. Have I done any permanent damage? I have decided to take 1 x 75mg per day for a couple of weeks and then 1 every second day and then hopefully none. Do you think I will get any side effects doing it this way? ## HI, Milly! How are you? It's doubtful that you did any permanent damage to yourself, but you should check with your doctor to be certain. You should also do that in regards to tapering off of it. However...

Taking 150 mg Lyrica at night for arm radioculpathy due to c5, 6, 7 herniated discs in neck. Hard to type, sorry. Hands are week. Started med on Dec. 19 so on a little over a month. My nerve pain is better, arms are not falling asleep as much. Still have deep pain in discs. Live with it, but have been offered surgery. Idk, it seems surgery may not be a guaranteed fix...sucks. Lots of belly bloat on Lyrica. I drink lots of lemons n limes in my water to flush out my body. I've noticed that when I don't eat, I'm not hungry, but when I start eating, I could eat a whole Thanksgiving Turkey myself! I'm staying very aware of portion control and how my body reacts. I take 1 Aleve 12 hr Arthritis Pill in am for the day. Good results. Use Lidocane Patches prn My whole life has cha...

It is like poison, or electroconvulsive therapy with the mental confusion and short term memory loss. 150 mg. q.d. didn't touch my PN. AND, DIZZEEE; OMG, help! ## These are rare, but possible, side effects of Lyrica, which contains the active ingredient Pregabalin. Have you contacted your doctor about them, yet? As to the pain, this is not an analgesic and it does not work like one. It only helps with certain types of nerve pain and it will take awhile to work, usually several weeks.

Hello, doc prescribed me lyrica 150 mg for burning, tingling and aching on my foot which started after a sprain ankle that happened 4,5 months ago. I didn't want to use it because of the serious side effects described, but I've been using it for a week now. To reduce side effect risk, I stopped taking my NSAID drug (acemetasin, voltaren (diklofenak sodium), Cycladol (Piroxicam), etodolac etc. My pain and burning sensation didn't lessen much and my foot swells sometimes. My question is if I can take NSAID drugs safely with Lyrica and which one is best to use in my condition? It's been almost 5 months and I've been taking NSAIDs most of this time. I used to take cipralex (essitalopram) as antidepressant but stopped taking it with Lyrica, since both effect the nervous syst

I was on Lyrica 75 mg for 14 days, 150 mg for 1 day. Had nausea, headache, drunk-like feeling. Doctor took me off after 15 days. The very first day off, I had the worst pain in my abdomin, nausea, bad headache & unable to eat. After 2 weeks doctor started me on Savella. It has been 5 days on it & I have not been able to eat anything but 1 - 2 bites of food a day. Nausea so bad I had to have my husband stop on the side of the road after 3 minutes of driving. My abdomin feels like I have been poisoned. I am waking up 15 times a night, while taking 10 mg of Ambien at night. Bad headache & severe fatigue. Diarreah for 4 weeks now. Anyone else have this? ## Have you contacted your doctor about this? While the nausea, sleep issues and vomiting can be normal side effects of both th...

It sure is scary ## i had the same thing when i had the doctor advise me to go up to 150 mg, three times a day i had weird blackout type memory problems so i had cut back, and only took the 150 mg two times which the problems went away after the higher dose was out of my system, ## i have ended up in my recliner by the wood stove twice, middle of the night. i woke up and didn't remember going out there. if i lower the dose the pain is unbearable. this drug is the worst i have ever experienced, horrible drug, don't start! ## My husband had been taking 600 mg of Lyrica and cut back a little because he was not sure it was helping. Have your potassium levels been checked? A low potassium level has also been known to cause night time leg cramps, so the solution could be as simple as taking a low dose supplement, or increasing your dietary intake of Potassium. I suffered from them for many years, as well, until it was discovered that my potassium levels were very low. ## Hi ingebroesel, After 7 years of searching for a dx (without insurance and I was desparate), a research physician diagnosed me with "genetic ...

I have been taking Lyrica 150 mg twice a day with 100mg sustained release tramadok (ultram) I have severe post hepetic neuralgia in my left thigh following an attack of shingles. This combination of meds has reduced pain by 59% allowing me to function, Then I noticed I was slowly and stadily gaining weight - about 30 lb. The interesting thing is it is all (nearly) belly weight - my waist has now completely dissapeared. The first side effect (i didn;t really notice the weight gain at first) was I was unsteady and my balance degenerated quite a bit. The I noticed typing I would mix up similar words like their and there and sea and see. The wiuld always be the wrong way round. At first the memory loss seemed an extention of aging but in the last minth it has got alarming. Today I was follo...

I have been taking Pregabalin for 15 months at 150 mg daily. I had my hip replaced two months ago and no longer need the meds. How do I taper off, step by step, so as to minimize side effects? ## Lyrica is quite easy to come off. Your Dr could prescribe a lower dose for two weeks or what I did was drop one pill a day for two weeks, then two pills a day for two weeks and so on. I had a bit of a headache but no problem. ## Hello, Rod! How are you? And thanks to Eunie for your helpful response. One caution I would like to add is to please do not stop this medication cold turkey, since it is an anticonvulsant, though it also helps with nerve pain, a sudden withdrawal could cause seizures. Typical side effects to this medication, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, mood swin...

I have been taking lyrica for 7 weeks now for severe nerve pain. I began to gain a lot of weight immediately but because the drug is so effective at relieving my pain, I was very reluctant to come off it. Three weeks ago I began the 5:2 diet - eating 500 calories on 2 non-consecutive days each week and normally for the rest of the week - ('The 5:2 Vegetarian Diet Made eZy' by Polly Fielding and `The 5:2 Diet: Single Serving Vegetarian Recipes' by Belinda Price are books I bought to help me). I was amazed at how easily the pounds dropped off after only a couple weeks. I am on 150 mg twice daily. I do hope this helps someone with the same worries I had about the side effect of weight gain whilst taking lyrica . ## Yes I agree, I too was able to control my weight while on Lyric...

My doctor prescribed Lyrica for severe nerve pain in my upper left leg. My specialist told me the pain is cause by my diabetes. At first, in June 2015 I was taking 75 mg., but to no effect. I took 150 mg., but again to no effect. In mid-July my doctor increased my dosage to 300 mg. I started having seizures. I decreased the dosage over a couple of weeks and stopped taking Lyrica. I took no more Lyrica, after mid-August. It is now in December and the seizures persist. Will these ever go away? I don't particularly want to take other drugs that will also cause such side-effects. Thank you. ## Hello, Mitch! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. If you stopped it months ago, then it should not still be causing seizures. Have you consulted a neurologist? It is po...

My doctor has me on 600 mg Neurontin a day, plus 150mg of Lyrica a day, plus 100mg of Savella a day... I am always fog brained, drunk feeling, tired, nauseated. I have been on this combination for atleast three years now. I am however just now finding out that, lyrica and Neurontin are the same medication, and that savella is just like lyrica. I'm confused on this, I need to know if I'm being overdosed??? ## Hello, Kyleigh! How are you? I would call it being overdosed, but it does sound like it is too much for you. My spell check is on the blink so please excuse any errors! I had surgery In Sept of 2005 on my lower leg, resulting in nerve trauma and extreme stabbing hot and cold pain, in that area. It was almost impossible to walk. I had no relief from standard painkillers such as Vicoden and Ibuprofen. Lyrica was prescribed at 25 mg and provided incredible relief within 48 hours. It was increased slowly to 150 mg over one month. I am now- in Jan of 2007, slowly decreasing the medicine over a one month period, with good success so far. I would like some input or info on the side efects or any withdrawl issues. Also, how long does it take to get out of the system? My experience in total has been very favorable. I did have definite challenges with memory, and loosing my place in discussions with peo...

I cut off three of my middle fingers at the first joint 4 months ago. I was first prescribed Oxycodon by one doctor. I got worried about addiction and switched to a hand soecialist. He prescribed Tramodo and Lyrica. After 3 months of 150 mg twice a day I can;t walk without a cane, I've gained 20 pounds, I have short term memory loss plus a host of other related problems. I'm also taking Levetiracetam 500 mg AM and PM, another anti seizure med. I've got to come off Lyrica, but if the hand specialist balks at the idea, what kind of doctor can help wean me off Lyrica. I'm willing to tough it out with the pain. ## Hello, Jim! How are you? The issue here is that your problems may not be solely due to the Lyrica. The Levetiracetam can also cause such problems, these are fairly...

I have taken Lyrica for over three years for serious Neuropathies (Level 10 pain...unable to leave my home or function at all) caused by undiagnosed B-12 and Vitamin D Deficiencies. I started at 150 mg twice a day; however, had to increase to three times a day to more fully deal with the pain. Eventually I reduced it back to twice a day as the pain was controlled (90%) and due to excessive daytime sleepiness. Lyrica saved my life. I am able to work full-time again and do. Most side effects disappeared over time EXCEPT losing word recall at times and weight gain (I diet all the time now). But it is ALL worth it to be nearly pain free... Nerve pain is unbearable. I am a 68-year-old woman and healthy otherwise. ## I'm so very glad that this medication is working so well for you. The me...
