I take this for blood pressure. Now if I out in the sun, even just sun bathing and not moving much I get so light headed I can't see. Can this be the med.? On my prescription for Losartan/HCTZ 100-25mg last month the pill was teardrop shaped and yellow. I just had it refilled and the pill is rectangular, white, and has ZD 19 stamped on it. I have been taking 20 mg lisinopril with the diuretic and my blood pressure has been anywhere from 140?/90? To 150?/98 or so. Today my doctor switched me to losartan hctz100-25 mg. I'm worried the mg in losartan is so much higher than the lisinopril. Is this safe? Will this make my blood pressure drop to an unsafe level? My Dr. took me off lisinopril-hctz because of headaches and body weakness. I felt better with the losartan 50mg but my blood pressure shot up to 200/100. Would the losartan work in a combo with lisinopril-hctz; possibly taking the losartan in the evening? ## Do not mix meds. Pharmacist told me that. Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor and Losartan is an ARB, so while they both can help lower blood pressure, they work in different ways. Does Losartan hctz tab 100-25 mg equal Diovan HCT 320-12.5 tab. I am concerned about the difference in milligrams. I recently started the Losartan. ## It's usually about 100mgs of the Losartan to equal each 160mg of the Valsartan in the Diovan, but your HCTZ (Hydrochlorothiazide) has been raised from 12.5 to 25, so that dose has been doubled. my insurance company would not pay any longer for my hypertension medicine losartan hctz 100-25 mg tabs and put me on a tab supposed to be the same but made by a company lupin.
