My local pharmacy recently changed from Qualitest lorazepam to Actavis (Watson). So I have to transfer. Most pharmacies here sell Leading Pharma or Actavis. I have an adverse reaction from Watson lorazepam (serious side effects with no calming effect). I used to take Ativan but it is too expensive to continue (I took it when I was abroad and from Kaiser in the U.S. but Kaiser changed it to generic Qualitest lorazepam). I do not use Kaiser insurance anymore. Qualitest is milder than Ativan in terms of effect, like 50%-60% of Ativan, but less dehydrated and OK considering it is generic. Ativan is $2600 for 1mg 30ea in cash. Besides, most insurance does not cover it or do not want to pay for it by forcing doctors to prescribe generic lorazepam instead. Hi, I have taken Lorazepam since 1990's off and on again, I hate to say these Cyril 2mg Lorazepam are not worth a spec of a 1mg. I was very sad they were so bad. I am not sure they are real. I have been taking lorazepam 1mg for years, but my most recent refill the pills do not look the same and I can't find them online. I’ve been taking the generic brand Mylan Lorazapam for four years. Only one that helps me live a normal life stop anxiety/ptsd/ ect. Lorazepam is also the only medication that works for me. My Doctor and I have tried everything. But horrible side effects! Mylan lorazepam has been a miracle! Sadly I just found out that mylan is discontinuing I have a partial script of .5 mylan because 1mg is already gone and the rest is Actavis! I tried one of the Actavis today and it completely zonked me out and feel so weird! Only other one they said they have is Leading. But I saw people post horrible stuff about that as well. I wanting to know this because i have really bad panic attacks and i need to know which one will help me the fastest? ## Hi Kayla, Both medications are in the same drug class of benzodiazepines, but in terms of overall potency/strength mg for mg, there's really no truly accurate answer since drug equivalency charts don't take into account the fact that everyone responds to these types of drugs differently. Looking on various discussion threads comparing the two, I concluded that neither medication seems to have anymore clout than the other overall. However, from what I understand Lorazepam is reported to be longer lasting than Alprazolam. The best thing to do in my opinion would be to ask your doctor for a trial of either medication to see what works best for you over the course...

They are both Benzodiazepines and, as listed by the FDA, are most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. They carry the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. The dosing of the ones you mentioned are equivalent, you need 1mg of Clonazepam for each 2mgs of Lorazepam. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can I take 1mg Lorazepam and the zzzquil? ## Hello, Bill! How are you? Unless your doctor has said that it's okay for you to do so, I'd suggest sticking with just one or the other. Both the Lorazepam and the Diphenhydramine in the ZzzQuil can cause depression of the central nervous system, so combining them could be dangerous. The Lorazepam causes drowsiness, along with irritability and dizziness, so it may help you sleep without adding anything else. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## I took 30ml of zzzquil and then started feeling my anxiety starting in. I am currently taking 50mg of Zoloft and .5-1mg of lorazepam a day. I have been taking lorazepam 2mg at night for sleep for 5 years. They recently gave me AZI pm - 2 mg lorazepam. It's a round pill in blister package sunny yellow color. Has anyone tried those before? I found out Lorazepam 1mg made by Ranbaxy is not sold any more. Is it available in mexico? And will it come back? ## Hi Liza, From what I've researched, generic Lorazepam by Ranbaxy is not listed as being available in Mexico. However I did stumble upon a couple brand names that are: Lozam and Sinestron. Perhaps either of those would make for a suitable alternative? I have not tried Lorazepam myself so this is only speculation. Apparently the FDA has also had several restrictions placed on Ranbaxy's products (within the last year that are still in effect), preventing them from importing drugs from their overseas facilities into the US. Hello, I noticed that Sandoz is manufacturing Lorazepam again.. (the has stopeed for 2-3 years now). I am wondering if anyone has tried them? How do you rate them? Do they make you sleepy? NIH.gov states that this medication may be taken with or without food. But I'd be curious to know if certain foods have any affect on its absorption rate or whether the speed of your metabolism impacts how quickly its excreted? The half life of lorazepam is listed at 12 hours all the way up to 18 hours for its metabolite; which tells me that it should be present on any lab work within this time frame (provided that they are looking for benzodiazepine class drugs). What type of lab work is it; blood work? And is it for anything specific such as a red blood cell count, etc?
