I am taking Lisinopril 20 along with 11 other medications. I had a major heart attack 6 years ago (but doing great now), have diabetes 2, and narcolepsy. I am really fighting the daytime sleepiness to the point that it is negatively affecting my life. I see where it can cause drowsiness, so I am trying to see if there is an alternative that does not cause drowsiness (I am doing this for all meds that have that warning as well) before I go to the doctor so I have something to present. Thank you for listening ## In your case, it is really hard to say what is causing the drowsiness, it may be one of your medications, or it could be your heart, your diabetes or just the narcolepsy. Thus, I am very glad to hear you'll be consulting your doctor. I am not sure what else you are on, but bei...

Has Lisinopril made anyone hungrier or made you gain weight? I am also getting terrible cramps in my legs. I started taking Potassium on my own to stop this pain. Any advice? ## Hello, Madeline! How are you doing? Yes, those can be side effects of this medication, according to FDA warnings, you may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. I got off of it after several months. ## Madeline, I've been on a 5 mg dose of Lisinopril for about 3 months. I took 20 mg Lisinopril a second time instead of 50 mg Atenolol. Supposed to take the Lisinopril once daily and the Atenolol twice. Am I okay? ## If you are concerned then you should call poison control at (800) 222-1222. From what I was reading, the biggest risk would be your blood pressure dropping too low (hypotension). However, taking only one additional dose may not cause that for you. Here is a pdf with more information: ACE Inhibitor Overdoses I hope this helps and please report back with your outcome.

I have been taking 20 mg lisinopril with the diuretic and my blood pressure has been anywhere from 140?/90? To 150?/98 or so. Today my doctor switched me to losartan hctz100-25 mg. I'm worried the mg in losartan is so much higher than the lisinopril. Is this safe? Will this make my blood pressure drop to an unsafe level? I took the lisinopril this morning and he told me to start the losartan tomorrow morning. Is this okay? ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? That is a normal starting dose for Losartan, it may seem a lot higher than the dosage you were taking of Lisinopril, however, since it is in a different class of medications, it is actually only a little higher, which I'm guessing is due to the fact that your blood pressure readings were still high and need further lowering. How...

Is lisinopril 20-12.5 much different than the 20 mg? If not, I can get the 20 mg for free at the drug store, but I have to pay for the 20-12.5. ## Yes, the active ingredients are different. One contains Lisinopril with Hydrochlorothiazide, while the other just contains Lisinopril and you should take the one your doctor feels is best for you. The FDA lists the typical side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, dehydration, and hypotension. Which one has been prescribed for you?

I take 20MG of Lisinopril daily for high blood pressure. I have been experiencing severe itching all over. No rash is visible. I stopped the Lisinopril for several days and it subsided. Started back today and the itching returned. What's up? ## Well, it is possible to suddenly develop an allergy to something, even if you have been taking it for awhile. Our bodies do change with time. Have you consulted your doctor about this? Even with no rash, it could still be an allergy to the medication or something else.

difference between hexal Lisinopril 20mg and Prexum 4mg ## (Aside from the obvious dosage difference of 20mg of Lisinopril and 4mg of Prexum) - While both of these medications are in the same drug class with the same purpose of lowering blood pressure, the primary differences lie within the chemical makeup of each drug, as well as the addition of certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each tablet. Both of these factors play a detrimental role as to how each drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may agree with one medication over the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. I hope this helps! ## Thank you, My Clinic argue that they are the same as far as strength is con...

I have been on Lesinopril 20mg for a little over a year now. I just stopped taking it 4 days ago, trying to go natural on keeping my BP down. the first day I just did yoga each day, ate low calorie food as roasted veggies, and drank smoothies. My daily drinks consisted of Pomegranate juice and a spoon apple cider vinegar diluted with a cup of water. My average BP for the last 3 days was 121/78. Today I started having a severe headache, blurry vision and body ache in general. Is this common when you stop Lisinopril? While I do believe that I can keep my BP down naturally I am suspicious of the side effect of getting rid of this pill.. ## Hello, Rich! How are you? Yes, that can happen, if you suddenly stop such a medication, rather than tapering off of it, as reported by the FDA. You may ...
