Hi, I have been taking 500mg 4 times per day for 8 weeks for a potential osteomylitis. My concern is if my body is building a tolerance to the Keflex. The infection is still present, and although it has diminished somewhat has not gone away. ## It isn't that you really build a tolerance to an antibiotic, it's that the bacteria can develop antibiotic resistance. However, that shouldn't be a concern after just this short of a time period, that usually occurs with long-term use or repeated use of the same antibiotic. I have allergies, I take allergy shots. I have a prescription of Keflex 500mg. I took 500mg Keflex for 28 days for a cyst back in September 2013. The cyst did not respond so I was sent to an infectious disease doctor who said I had P. Mirabilis infection and he changed my antibiotic (That one didn't work either). Long story short.. during the use of the Keflex my leg muscles became very weak and sore. They are still weak and sore and getting worse. I told my doctor the backs of my legs felt so tight like the muscles were stretched too far like rubber bands. He didn't seem to care or think anything of it. So now here we are 10 months later, I still have the stupid cyst or P. mirabilis whatever and my legs are so sore I can barely walk.
