why kalium durule caused diarrhea? what is the scientific explaination for that question? ## I don't know what the scientific explanation is and I am not sure that there really is one that explains it. Medication side effects occur, even with supplements, because you are putting a new substance into your body and it isn't used to it.. Some people's bodies adjust well and do not react, at all. While others can experience severe problems from it and no one really knows why this happens. If you are experiencing diarrhea, make sure to drink more liquids, to avoid dehydration and contact your doctor if it becomes a severe problem. Are there any questions or comments?

I have broken out in a rash around my neck, shoulders, arms and legs really bad. Didn't know what was the cause. Went to dr. he said it looked like a inward reaction and nothing topical. Well, I had started taking Dexilant (Kapidex) just about the time I broke out. My question is ....those of you who have experienced this? I took Kapidex for 40 days. I stopped 5 days ago and now my insides are on fire and I have diarrhea. How long do the withdrawl effects last? ## Kapidex contains the active ingredient Dexslansoprazole, it is a Proton Pump Inhibitor used to treat conditions such as heartburn and GERD. That said, 40 days is not too long of a time to be on this, though some of what you are experiencing is probably a rebound effect from stopping it abruptly. The worst of the withdrawal effects should start to taper off after a week to 10 days, though some may still linger for a little while afterwards. Have you spoken to your doctor about this?

After the Dr.'s ran out of acid reflux drug medication that would work for me, they gave me a sample of Kapidex a month ago and it really does work for me. I hope all of you that have major acid reflux this pill works for you also. ## I too have exhausted the nexium, aciphex an protonix routes for r-meds and was just prescribed Kapidex yesterday. I have a rash on my back, that has now turned into a burning sensation - am using cortizone creams, etc. If this doesn't help I will have to go to the doctor ## I have a unexplained rash too. Had started taken Kapidex. Did research and convinced this is the cause. How long has your lasted?

Has anyone with Reactive Arthritis taken Kapidex? I really bad reflux with largxspasms and the Md placed me on this med. today. I have read that someone with Reactive Arthritis can have Steven Johnson syndrome with meds and I have had this also in the past and one of the severe side effects to this med is SJS? ## Kapidex contains the active ingredient Dexslansoprazole. This is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat Acid Reflux, heartburn and similar conditions. I don't see anything in the warnings regarding Reactive Arthritis and Steven Johnson syndrome, though. Have you tried talking to your doctor about your concerns?

Is it safe to consume grapefruit juice while taking Kapidex medication? ## I located that during a study while taking Dexlansoprazole (INN, trade name Kapidex) people were not alllowed to consume grape juice. It did not list it as being unsafe, but saying it could effect the results of the drug. I am not a doctor, nor do I know your medical history, but I would not drink grape juice while taking this drug. To learn more about this drug click on the link below... Had ONE dose of Kapidex this morning. Never had one before. One hour later I started with severe aching all over, diahrrea, an echoing rattling in my head (yes, I've already done about as many jokes about that as I can think of :-) ) a really bad headache, dizziness, nausea, and muscles feel tight. Other than that I'm fine!!! Could this be the result of drug interaction--I take about seven antidepressants, plus meds for Crohn's Disease. Or--are these complaints just side effects? It's an elongated, small turquoise capsule. ## I talked with the gastroenterologist on call. He told me not to take it anymore. Too many side effects that didn't make sense. I wonder if it could be a medication. Lipitor, gemfibrozil, vit d, cymbalta, Kapidex. I have reflux. ## this site is not medical professionals, we cannot give you a definitive reason for the burning, nor a diagnosis or treatment. It can sometimes be caused by medications, but other things, such as eating the wrong foods or a vitamin deficiency can also cause it. Nothing on your list here is known to normall cause this problem, but it is always possible. Have you contacted your doctor, yet?

Never in my life have I experienced this degree of discomfort, not to mention the danger of straining at the stool associated with acute coronary MI or stroke.While on Kapidex I felt profoundly depressed. I have very vivid and busy dreams almost like movies, every night. If I get up in the night, I will have a double-header. I don't watch much TV, but the dreams will be bits and pieces of what has happened or what I have seen recently and mixed all together. ## I started taking Dexilant (was called Kapidex). Not until then did I have such vivid dreams. So weird..like whole movies. LOL And, I, too, will have 2-3 dreams like that per night. light blue capsule with the imprint TP on the top and 60 in the bottom. any clues? ## Kai, I think the imprint code is kind of hard to read, but it should say TAP 60 (where the TAP is kind of like a logo with the letter A coming off the T so I can see why you might have mistaken it as just TP - just so you know, the logo belongs to Takeda Pharmaceuticals). After yearly endoscopy & removal of several polyps, doc put on kapidex. Got an annoying cough that after 2 months of kapidex has now turned into a severe cough that so far I have found no relief for, even after 2 trips to MD. Since this all started at time of endoscopy & start of Kapidex, wondering if one or the other could be my problem? ## Kapidex and cough is odd. I developed chronic cough December 2007. 3 trips to Rochester-May, several endoscopies (no polyps), full lung and speech pathology workups found cough was thought to caused by GERD. Was placed on omeprazole (80mg morning and 80mg nighttime) for 15 months. Gastritis erosion now gone cough remained. Doctor put me on Kapidex 30 days ago to attempt to change GERD and stop cough. No luck. Cough continues ... 10 - 12 time...
