Inspra Eplerenone

Eplerenone, sold under the brand name Inspra, is an aldosterone antagonist type of potassium-sparing diuretic that is used to treat chronic heart failure and high blood pressure, particularly for patients with resistant hypertension due to elevated aldosterone. It is a steroidal antimineralocorticoid of the spirolactone group and a selective aldosterone receptor antagonist (SARA).[5] Eplerenone is more selective than spironolactone at the mineralocorticoid receptor relative to...

Just had back surgery. My blood pressure has been low so I stopped taking the diltiazem and cut the lasix in half to 40 mg plus the inspra 25 mg. My blood pressure is good during the day and at night is 115/70. Is this the right thing to do? ## Hello, Lou! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Did your doctor approve these dosage adjustments? The biggest concern is that if you drop the dosage of these medications too abruptly, or stop one suddenly, it could result in a rebound effect, according to the NIH, which could cause the exact opposite problem of dangerously elevated blood pressure and heart rate. If the occurs, it could place you at risk of heart attack, or stroke. How low has it been, since the surgery? Are you on any other medications? ## Thanks for the input I'm b...

What the hell is this! Anyone? Peach round pfizer one side adn 25 other.. ## Hello, The closest match I've been able to find is Inspra (25 mg). It is a diamond shaped, light yellow pill with the imprint Pfizer on one side and NSR 25 on the other. It is manufactured by Pfizer and has a National Drug Code of 00025-1710. Inspra contains the active ingredient Eplerenone, which is an aldosterone antagonist used as an adjunct in the management of chronic heart failure. It is similar to the diuretic spironolactone, though it is much more selective for the mineralocorticoid receptor in comparison (i.e., does not possess any antiandrogen, progestogen, or estrogenic effects), and is specifically marketed for reducing cardiovascular risk in patients following myocardial infarction. Common adve...

I had a mild heart atack and I was prescribed a cocktail of drugs, which made me feel like a zombie, I was extremely tired, feeling sick, couldn't barely walk: ticagrelor 90 mg., simvastatin 40 mg., amlodipine, ramipril 2.5 mg., eleprenone(Inspra) 25 mg. I discarded the amplodipine- why the dictors prescribed it together with the ramipril, if both do the same job and both have bad side effects? I also stopped the simvastatin- so far for a week and I feel better, but another doctor now replaced with with atorvastatin 20 mg. which I will have to start taking, but this one is also known for bad side effects and I was also prescribed a beta blocker- Egiloke 25 mg (Metrprolol tartrate) as replacement of the amplodimine. I am worried about the side effects: my colesterols levels and blood...
