Morphine Pill To Inject
2 Replies RSS
My doctor changed my 60mg orange oblong morphine to the 60mg round orange ones. I inject my medication and need to know why the round pill is oily after its broke down to liquid form. Since using these new pills I am having trouble pooping what the hell the government done to my morphine? ## The government didn't do anything. Tablets such as this are not intended to be broken down and injected and trying to do so is dangerous. Tablets contain fillers, especially the time released ones and not all of them are meant to be broken down by the human body. They are normally just expelled in your waste. If you try to break them down for injection, you are placing these substances directly into your body in a way that it cannot process them out. This creates the risk of your developing bloc... ...

Really Old Morphine Vial Question
Post a Reply
Recently after losing a family member (to the same painful disease me and my brother have) I found this package of really old vials of Morphine Sulfate, 10mg in a closet. I don't know when they expired as they have no date. But they look really old and are slightly yellowish. They were made by Wyeth to be injected using a device called a Tubex. The plastic wrapped package has 4 sealed glass vials with the needles and rubber stopper attached. My question is if really old morphine is dangerous or painful to use? I know it probably won't do anything, but I figured on a bad day why not try. I was going to try one vial IM to be safe. ...

Fill Morphine Sulfate Prescription
2 Replies RSS
My husband has a history of back pain since 1985. He has had 3 back surgeries, epidural injections and 2 spinal column stimulator implants. His last surgery in 2006 was quite successful. He was on 180 mg of Avinza and percocet for breakthrough pain. He has gradually reduced his medication to 30 mg twice daily of morphine sulphate and has maintained this dosage for 2 years. We have been patients of this primary care group for 25 years. The doctor that we both had been patients of retired, so we now see another MD from the same group. I see a different MD from this group than my husband. The reason being that I do not care for this D.O. that my husband sees. He has been seeing him for approx a year. He had always been given a prescription for a 3 months supply. About 6 months ago the D.O.... ...

2 Morphine Er Scripts Doctors 8 Days Apart
7 Replies RSS
Here is the deal. I have a herniated disc and degenerative disc disease. I have had physical therapy, chiropractor and epidural steroid injections. I am a Kaiser patient. I am taking Morphine ER 15 mg 4 times a day with percocet 5 mg 3 times a day for breakthrough. I ran out of meds early last month because i went camping and lost the bottle that had a weeks worth of meds inside. I don't take the entire bottle with me when I travel, just what I need while I'm gone. I did not tell my doctor that I lost the meds. My doctor gave me a script that was dated for 6/25 (tomorrow). Last week I was out of town for our annual week long vacation. While I was there (in the same state, but 3 hours from home) I went to an urgent care with my empty script bottles and the urgent care doctor gave... ...

morphine pump for a opiate tollerant patient
2 Replies RSS
New pain doctor wants to put a morphine pump in place of meds been taking (80mg oxycontin times 2 a day) (30mg oxycodone times 4 a day) Any info good or bad trying to research this she decided this on my first visit. ## The pain pumps usually give most people better pain control and the medication is injected directly into your blood stream, so they also work much faster for pain relief. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Ultimately the decision is up to you. You may want to set up an appointment with your doctor to discuss all of the pros and cons, so you are better informed and better equipped to weigh your options. I was given morphine in the hospital while they tried to change my long-standing migraine meds. The morphine felt like sand was being pushed through my veins! It never cleared my headache either.
