Mine are labeled "sub hydrocodone acetate 5/325. They make me very sleepy and never used too. Makes it difficult to go to work on this medication, let alone drive. Thoughts? ## Hello, Kris! How are you? Yes, that means that your prescription was written for Norco and they substituted the generic Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen 5/325mgs. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What are the markings on them? That is what would enable me to check the inactive ingredients for you. Can you please post back with this additional information? Thanks!

Is there any company anywhere still manufacturing the old YELLOW Norco? (10/325 Hydrocodone Acetaminophen - formerly available by prescription from Activis/Watson.) It was suggested that a Canadian Pharmacy might still have this medicine available. It will be a year in August. When the color changed, so did my life. The side effects are horrific. Chronic pain sufferers have been lumped together with abusers. When I asked what, if any of the inactive ingredients had been changed, I was told "that's proprietary" Considering that every seed in a loaf of bread must be identified and labeled?? So, my second question- Is there any way to force the release of this information? I am not interested in litigation - takes forever. Just want to know what has changed! ## Hello, Ann! How ...

I have been taking 10/325 norco for many years. A few days ago I received my medication and found it had been replaced with Aurobindo Pharm U03 imprint. They make me feel very ill with a headache nausea and worse they do not take my pain away at all. I also feel very dizzy. How has the FDA approved this Indian company? Has anyone else had a problem with the U03 10/325 hydrocodone. Im frightened to take them but need pain relief. ## Yes, your pharmacy couldn't dispense it to you, if it weren't FDA approved. But there can be fluctuations from one generic medication to another, or when going from the name brand to a generic. That means this one may be slightly lower in the amount of the active ingredients, so it may not work as well for you as the other one did. Usually, the fluctu...

Does the new Hyslinga work on severe pain better than Norco or Oxycodone? ## @MB, One might be able to compare the effects of Hysingla ER (Hydrocodone Bitartrate Extended-release) with Norco more easily since they share one of the same active ingredients. However, Oxycodone's analgesic effects are reportedly more potent than Hydrocodone and therefore I don't think Hysingla would be a better option than Oxycodone, personally. Then again, everyone tends to react/respond differently to these meds based on tolerance, level of pain, inert ingredients, metabolism, body chemistry, etc... So you may have to try them all for yourself in order to grasp a truly valid opinion between the three medications. One thing I do hear a lot though is that extended release meds are often recognized a...

how much does one norco 10 tablet weigh? ## How many grams is one pill ## How many grams in one white 10/325 norco ## It depends on the manufacturer, since the inactive ingredients can vary from one company to another. Can you please post back with the markings on the tablets in question? That would enable me to research more information for you. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Can you tell me if the red specks have red dye 40 in it? ## Hello, Gloria! How are you? What are the markings on the tablets in question? I'm sorry, but I need this information in order to correctly identify the tablets and make sure to provide you with the correct information on the ingredients. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. The white new norcos do not work, and I am back spending half my life in bed. Why is is they break in half so easily? The yellow ones couldnt be broken by hand. Who can we call? The DEA? ## Hi allie, It seems like a lot of patients have been experiencing problems with the Norco made by Actavis (formerly known as Watson). Apparently from what I understand, after Watson was bought out, Actavis made some "unnecessary" changes within the inactive ingredients, causing them to not be nearly as effective as their yellow predecessor. If you want to put in a complaint, I would suggest filing a report with the FDA under their MedWatch program, which can be reached at: fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch/default.htm Maybe if enough people report similar problems they will consider making changes. But ...

I am scheduled to take 1, 3 times a day. they are orange (light) a V on one side, scored and say on the back; 36 score mark 05. I have taken as many as 4 at one time w/o getting relief, but do feel there is a small amount in them, just to keep from withdrawal. ## In addition, I got this RX from the hospital pharmacy, no independent parties were involved. Are these places more likely to get less potent or fake tablets? or was there misuse of the main ingredients in the manufacturing process? ## Most likely it's just that the medication doesn't work well for you for pain. Not everything works for everyone that tries it, which is why there are usually multiple options to try in any therapeutic medication category. Additionally, if you've taken it before, your body may have buil...

I have been prescribed Watson brand Norco for years. Recently I was given this same drug made by a different manufacturer (Mallinckrodt). This formulation gave me headaches, cramps, hives and I'm vomiting. Why? ## Hi Lee, Whenever you switch manufacturers of the same drug, there's almost always going to be a difference in inert ingredients (binders & fillers) that make up the composition of the pill. Some people are more sensitive (or allergic) than others to these changes and that in itself may be a culprit for possible side effects. Something else worth noting is that different binding agents can affect bioavailability, which in turn means you get more or less of the actual active ingredient, potentially bringing about an onset of withdrawal symptoms. Unfortunately, determ...

I've been taking the light pink or orange generic Norco now they gave me this M366 smaller white pill. Every time I take it I get nauseated. Why? They should be the same....but something is making me nauseated. I've called my pharmacist and they say it should be the same. Has anyone got any ideas? I'm taking it just like I did the other one. ## Hello, Leah! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Generic medications are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% of the active ingredients, as set forth by the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984 and they don't have to measure against each other, so there's a chance that this new one is a bit stronger, which could explain the nausea. The FDA classifies this medication as a na...

I was taking 7.5 mg Lortab for 12 yrs. My Dr.switched me to Norco when the Lortab was discontinued. I can not tolerate the Norco. It does not feel as smooth with my back pain. Also my blood pressure shot way to high and it is hard to describe but it makes me feel like I have been eating rust. Could the differance be the filler used in the Norco? Also I took Vicodin with no problem. ## Hi Martha, u may not b able 2 take the narco. It just might b giving u side effects. If I were u , I would definitely talk 2 your Doctor, right away . ## @Martha, It is very possible that changes in inactive ingredients could be what's causing the side effects you didn't experience with Lortab. If you happen to know the imprint from both pills (including the previous Lortab), I'd be more than h...

I took a Talwin NX about 2 to 3 hours ago. Its not working, so I was going to take a Norco. How long should I wait to take it? ## Is the prescription drug Talacen still being manufactured? ## @Shasta (original poster), According to the fda, the average half life of Pentazocine is 3.6 hours and about 1 hour for Nalaxone (the two active ingredients in Talwin Nx). I don't know if the dosing effects of this drug are cumulative, but based on the half life alone it seems to me that you wouldn't have to wait more than a few days depending on how much you took and how frequently you've taken it. Drug interaction checkers from the University of Maryland don't recommend using Talwin Nx with Norco unless your doctor is able to change the dose and/or how often you use either medicat...

I changed from watson to interpharm and it seems like its just mot working! Is it me or have other people been through the same thing? ## Hello, Scott! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. And yes, other people have had similar issues. There can be slight variations in the amount of the active ingredients when going from a name brand to a generic, or from one generic to another. The differences are very slight and don't affect most people, but they can cause problems for someone who has been taking the same one for a long time, or for someone that is sensitive to medications.
