Hi, I suffeer from absolutee Major Depression. This could be due to PTS, but nit sure. Becuase of this depression I take too many pain killers (codein). l am a 56 years old female and been on Methadone for many years apart from gaining weight which seems to be the norm. I was given levaquin intravenously on 8/21,22/2013. It is now 2016. My balance is of and I have nerve damage, so severe that I had to take 8 weeks of therapy to try and get most of this corrected, and other life changing problems like depression, short term memory lost, confusion and hallucination. Sad part is I live in Arkansas. I've spoken with maybe four different law firms and no one will take my case. For those of you suffering with Treatment Resistant Major Depressive Disorder, Emory University is doing the BEST study in my opinion. They are implanting electrodes into "Area 25" of the brain which when placed in the correct spot, provides immediate relief from some or all of the symptoms of Major Depression. Anyway, their study has shown far better prognosis long-term than Ketamine which is only meant for short term, emergent use (per the NIH study objective). I just got off methadone and am having terrible PAWS...no motivation, isolating, don't want to get dressed and go anywhere, etc. This is NOT my first go around with it as I suffered with PAWS in the past when I got off suboxone a few years back. I've been suffering from depression since 2006 but i overcame it after getting 40 days medicine. However, after 6 months again i was suffering. So, again I started medicine after 10 days then again the same thing occurred again and again... Anyhow, I felt good for about 1 year. I was prescribed medrol pack for sciatica. I had been taking a sam-e supplement (600 mg/day) for OA for the last 1.5 years with good results. Although I stopped the sam-e while on the medrol, I had horrible insomnia anxiety, depression, HBP, rapid HR and 0 appetite. It's been 3 weeks off and I'm still suffering from some of the side effects. I've been diagnosed with Insulin resistance and my doctor prescribes Lexamil to me explaining to me that I might be undergoing some stress these days. I don't really understande how an antidepressant will be of any help in my case.
