And then a completely different type of ARV is needed. ## He needs to learn his viral load. If it is undetectable then it is safe. To make sure you...

I had an upper respiratory infection in January since that time I have been suffering from allergic rhinitis. I have had a CT scan that reports all is clear. I do not have deviated septum and my ENT says there is no infection. The most recent drug he has proscribed is Dymista. After about 30 minutes after I have sprayed it into each nostril, a thin mucous begins running down the back of my throat. I spend the next four hours hacking to keep it out of my lungs. The mucous also burns my tongue and of course, my throat is sore. Is this how Dymista is supposed to work? ## Hello, Bill! How are you? Yes, both the soreness and the discharge like that are listed as normal side effects for Dymista. You may want to ask your ENT if there is anything you can do about. Is there anything else I can h...

I am on Orlistat 120 mg 3 times a day to lose weight caused by meds. I find I am not eating a lot of fat so I don't understand how it works. ## The idea of Orlistat is to force you to eat less fat. If you do, you might poop your pants. Therefore, you eat healthier and consequently lose lots of weight. Eat a greasy pizza or something similar. If you don't have to run to the toilet, then you have the fake Orlistat.

Is there. A dose you have to reach before it works ## Hello, Theresa! How are you? Usually, there is a minimum and maximum effective dose, but they are not the same for everyone. It's going to vary from person to person. One person may do well and get great results from the lowest dose available, but someone else may require the highest. There are also people that it may not work for, at all. Learn more Luvox details here. I've responded to several of your posts about the various medications, which ones have you actually tried? Are they just not working for you? ## I have tried many Effexor Zoloft lexapro also used abilify as an add on for a short time and zyprexa for a short time added on. I'm switching from zoloft to paxil. I was feeling very bad on zoloft. I'm still on zoloft as my psychiatrist is tapering me off of it by having me cut from 100 to 50 mg for 14 days and then that's it. I've been on the paxil for three days. How long will it take for the paxil to start overcoming the bad side effects and withdrawal of zoloft? ## Hello, Keithman! How are you? About 2 to 3 weeks and perhaps a month, before it reaches its full efficacy level in your body. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, weight changes and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Its probably too late but it has become more apparent that Paxil can be problematic for alot. Includimg myself. I have been on it for 2 months and I started on 20mg and after a week I was to u...

I took Spiriva the 1st time for 3 weeks and gavce up on it.My doctor says I have to give it a lot more time to show it,s effectiveness.I am now on my 4th week with no obvious improvement.Any suggestions=???? ## Spiriva contains the active ingredient Tiotropium, it is a Bronchiodialotor. Most medications take at least a month to reach their full level of efficacy in your body. If it is not working after this time period, it just may not be the right medication for you and you should definitely speak to your doctor, again. As with any medication, some people get great results from them and some don't, it just depends on your body chemistry. I have just learned that Limbrel exists. I had been on NSAIDS for years, first a combo of Ibuprofen & Salsalate, then moved from that to Celebrex. Three years ago my kidneys started to fail. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 kidney failure. I was pulled off ALL NSAIDS FOREVER. Needless to say, I was devastated. Yes, I was upset about the kidney failure, but I was MORE upset about the fact I could not take anything for relief of my severe osteoarthritis. My rheumatologist did put me on Plaquenil,, which helps some, but still doesn't address the inflammation. I am on pain meds too, for other reasons, but again, they don't even touch the pain from inflammation. I learned earlier this week, from a Dr. I was sent to for another issue, of the existence of Limbrel. My rheumatologist has...

I went to the doctor 7 days ago and was perscribed flagyl, it has not seemed to work yet. For seven months my stomach had been making loud gurgling noises for no apparent reason. My doctor thought it could bacteria not where it should be. I was not told how long to take the medication but he wants to meet back in 3 weeks. He gave me enough pills to last 3 months. Will this go away sooner than 3 weeks? ## Hello, Alexis! How are you? It is completely normal for your stomach to do that and everyone's does so, occasionally. Its usually due to stomach acid forming gas and may be related to what you've eaten, something you drank, or even not eating as much as usual. Flagyl is an antibiotic, so it will only help with bacterial infections. Its typical side effects, as listed by the FDA,...

Please respond. I have never taken it and it was just prescribed for me. I have taken other benzos but they don't help my extreme anxiety. Hoping this will. ## These medications typically work within minutes of taking them and don't need to be taken regularly to have their intended effect. That's why the are usually prescribed to be taken 'as needed'. Generally, they should start to have some effect in about 15 to 20 minutes of ingesting it and 45 minutes to an hour for the full effect. Learn more Valium details here. The only way to see if it works for is by trying it. It does have the potential to be habit forming, just like other benzodiazepines and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. I have severe RA, hip and femur full of bullet fragments and severe muscle loss. I have been taking 3 x's a day mscontin 30mg. Dr put me on 30mg of Opana 2 x's daily. I took first 2hours and not helping yet with my pain. How long does it take to kick in fully? Thank you ## The ER designates it as being a time released medication, so it doesn't all take effect, at once, it is slowly released over a period of time, but you should start to feel some relief within a few minutes of taking it. Has there been any change? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

My Dr prescribed this TEVA 7543 for my chronic lower back pain. How does it work? I don't have depression and Duloxetine is an antidepressant. ## The FDA has discovered that many medications in this class can also help with certain types of nerve pain, but it may take 4 to 5 weeks, before you know how well it will work for you. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight gain. How long have you been taking it? ## Going to start Dulan (Duloxetine) 20 mg with Inderal. I have pain in my arms, shoulder and neck. Especially at night. I can't bend my arms due to pain and discomfort. I stay awake most nights. Pain gets worse after intercourse. Hope this will help improve my symptoms. ## I have been diagnosed ...

I was prescribed methylprednisolone for a reaction to poison ivy and have finished day 4 of the pack. I feel as if I have little to no relief. I am in constant discomfort (having a tough time sleeping even) and the rashes do not appear to be going away. One in fact seems to be getting worse. ## Hello, Diane! How are you? You'll need to finish the pack and then you'll likely start to see some improvement. If not, then you should consult your doctor. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this mediation as possibly including nausea, dizziness, nervousness, anxiety and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking lizness for almost 2 or 3 weeks.. But when I take it I do have results like a hour or so after but towards the night time I get bloated and can't go to the restroom and urinating even starts to become hard to do. And I also have cramping and pain with bloating towards the end of the day. ## Hello, BRead! How are you? Those can be normal side effects of Linzess, as listed by the FDA and most other users have reported similar experiences. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, abdominal cramping and diarrhea. However, the problem urinating is concerning and you should consult your doctor about that.
