I'm taking Adderall xl and I am loosing a significant amount of hair. My granddaughter been on this medicine for 4 months. She have loss almost all her hair, it is less than 1in. How can I help her I am not going to give her this medicine anymore. ## Hello, Madeline! How is that little lady doing? Yes, that can be a rare side effect of Adderall, because it can affect the blood flow to the scalp. She will most likely need to switch to a different medication. Has her pediatrician been consulted about this? Once a switch is made, her hair should grow back.

If you dont take your meds at the same time everyday and/or forget a day, your more likely to space out. i am having a LARGE amount of hair loss since starting dextroamp-amphet er 20 mg. i do not see this as a common side effect on any of the lists i am finding. the hair loss started at the same time i started the medication, and i take no other meds? ## Have you talked to your doctor, or pharmacist? As you've noted, it isn't a typical side effect, but it is difficult to say how any medication may effect any given person that takes it. It is also possible that the hair loss could be due to something else entirely and not the medication, at all. It can occur due to stress, dietary changes and many other factors.
