Wood ## Common side effects while taking Neurontin (active ingredient Gabapentin) are: dizziness, drowsiness, and peripheral edema (swelling of extremities); these mainly occur at higher doses, in the elderly. Also, children 3-12 years of age were observed to be susceptible to mild-to-moderate mood swings, hostility, concentration problems, and hyperactivity. I take 100mg each night to allow myself a nights sleep without my mind racing through thoughts. My neurologist said the only side affect is sleep. Was I too trusting. ## Hello, Barbara! How are you? I have been taking neurotin for 3 years. I take 800mg 3 times daily. I would like to know if shaking is a side effect. It started about 3 months ago. ## Hi Marlene, Interestingly enough, an "uncontrollable shaking of a part of your body" is listed as a side effect of Neurontin (Gabapentin). I found some of these in a baggie, are they used for recreation or do they have any kind of effect that would make someone take them that do not have the prescription ## Neurotion is not a recreactional drug. It is used primarily for Seizures but has alternate uses. It will not produce a high of any kind. ## Then I do not understand why would they be kept in a baggie next to other stuff ## Neurontin gives no effects of getting high. Hello. I'm very new to this drug, only 7 days.I am a diabetic with bi-polar/anxiety. I was recently put on Gabapentin 300mg. 1 pill for 4 days and then told to take 1 pill 2 times a day after. I have been experiencing some normal side effects such as sleepiness, a little anxiety (it hits me for about an hour and then goes away completely) and a little bit of a loopy feeling. I did not realize I was past the 4 days and had only been taking one pill (my memory has been terrible the past few days), so I was going to start taking the 2 pills yesterday (Feb 20th). I have diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. I also have bursitis in my hips. I found a bottle of my gabapentin 600's in a bottle in the closet and I don't want to just pitch them if they're usable because I don't have insurance and they're expensive.
