Fill Methadone In California

i have been on methadone for 18 years for pain from an auto accident and live out of country, MX....I need to find a doctor who will perscrible me for more thsan 30 days as it would be cost prohibiative to travel evey 30 days ...and I need to establish this link soon. ## If you are now living in the United States, Pain Management Dr.s are who you would look for. I also can only take methadone for my pain. They do prescribe it in low doses for pain unless you may have a ton of previous paper work from before. I hate to tell you that at first they will only give you 1 month worth at a time. It's not just methadone it's all narcotics. Florida won't fill any narcotic. Believe me we've tried. We next day air the script to our family in minneapolis, they go to our pharmacy for us, fill and ship back to us. It's a pain but it works. ## @Mpls, Wow, I think its pretty ridiculous what extent patients have to go through in order to be able to have their legal medication filled, as if it's some sort of secret substance that no one can speak of in the State of Florida. I live in riverside county Ca. 92553. I recieve a rx from my pain dr. for the past 2yrs. Why won't no pharmacy fill my rx.They can call his office n his staff he will verify it.All the pharmacies keep saying it's on back order, they don't carry it,n no one will order it for me. I just moved to Idaho from California. I am on methadone for degenerative disc disease. And have been on it for 8years. A pain team with Kaiser Permanente put me on it.. well this was an unexpected move. . I got on Idaho medicaid and they assigned me to a health clinic(after i didn't choose one because of everything going on)well the clinic has a policy that they dont prescribe anything over the equivalent of 120Mg morphine.. they wont fill my script! I live in the Boise area... Any suggestions? ## I don't think most of us realize that taking opioids for long periods can also cause pain because your body is asking for more and (causing issues with other parts of your body without you recognizing it and has a terrible affect on your mind) not taking on time can be painful as well...

I need to travel to Washington state from California next month because my sister has cancer and I will be providing her care for 2 months. I will need to fill my prescriptions for Methadone 5mg and Percocet 5mg. Will I be able to fill it there? ## Diane, I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate duty to come.As your aware both Percocet and methadone are highly regulated narcotics.It is highly unlikely an out of state pharmacy will fill these without a advance communication between your prescribing PHYSCIAN and the drug store of your choice.Even with that pharmacists have the option to fill or not depending on their judgement.
