i have head injury m taking encorate crono 500mg for more than 1 year. what actually is its function and does it have any side effects except acidity? ## Encorate Crono contains the active ingredient Divalproex Sodium, it is most commonly used to help prevent seizures caused by Epilepsy or brain injury. The likelihood of your experiencing many more side effects, after having been on it for a year, is pretty low, unless you had to go to a higher dosage. My husband is taking encore chrono 500 along with gardenal 60mg.we are planning to pregnancy.plz advice any side effects for pregnancy. in future my husband will got any health problems taking this medication.plz reply for both questions ## Hello, Mith! my wife 53 yrs taking epilepsy medicines since more than30 yrs, has been cured in 2009 and stop all medicines.but after some months again she had fit.Then our consultant started Lavera XR 500 -2tab twice and Encorate crono 500- 2tab twice daily.Total:2000 mg of both.since last year she had jaundice 3 times,December'12, october'13, and november'13.with naucea also.Please suggest alternate medicine of Encorate crono-500, as other consultant ask to stop Encorate.please advice urgently. ## What is the side effect using of Encorate chrono 500mg and disadvantages of Enchorate chrono? ## RAM: I . A close relative has been prescribed to use this drug. can I know how soon it can take to stop his absence seizures that he experiences on a daily basis?. He has previously used tegretol and lamictal but the seizures still occur. ## I'm sorry, but there's really no way for anyone to say. If it works for him, it may take several weeks to see the full effect and for it to completely control the seizures. But there is also a chance that it may not work, just like the others. i have been taking the dozage since last 6 years and what i am experiencing is a constant loss of memory, hair loss & immense weight gain. Please suggest can any of these sideeffects be over comed and even may decline. My weight is 111 kgs and my total dozage per day is that of 1800mg. Using Encorate 500mg, have developed some lashes around the neck and the chest also some pimples coming out, kindly advise is this a side effect of the drug? ## Encorate Chrono contains the active ingredient Sodium Valproate, it is an antiseizure medications used to treat Epilepsy. I am using ENCORATE CHRONO 500mg, along with Clonazepam I.P. 0.25mg & Phenytoin sodium I.P. 100mg, for last four years, please tell me the side effects of these in my longterm future. ## I know this is a broad answer to your question, but no one can really honestly tell you how this drug is going to effect you in the future, as they are not you. Not even "you" know how it's going to effect you until you take it. Medications can and usually do affect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results, but there are others whom it inevitably just doesn't work for no matter how many they take or how often they take it. If you've been taking these medications over the past four years without any problems or side effects then in my opinion you should be fine....
