Colirest Medroxyprogesterone

Medroxyprogesterone (INN, BAN), also known as 17α-hydroxy-6α-methylprogesterone, and abbreviated as MP, is a steroidal progestin drug which was never marketed for use in humans.[1] An acylated derivative, medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), is clinically used as a pharmaceutical medicine.[2] Compared to MPA, MP is over two orders of magnitude less potent as a progestogen.[3] As such, MP itself is not used clinically, though it has seen limited use in veterinary medicine under the tra...

I am 80 years old. My Urologist has asked me to take a 500 gm Sporidex everyday of my life due to my e coli condition. Please tell me if this is alright as I worry about possible dangerous side effects if I keep on taking a Sporidex every day. ## Sporidex contains the active ingredient Cephalexin, it is an antibiotic and yes, there are some cases where a resistant infection requires them to be taken regularly. Learn more Cephalexin details here. There are some possible risks, such as developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, but there are far greater risks to just letting such an infection rage out of control. Are there any other questions I can help with?

I have colitis and one of the size effect xeljanz is diarrhea. Has anyone had any experience with that. I'm was on Humira but the Dr wants me to switch to xeljanz. Thank you ## Hi Barb, Sorry to hear about your condition. I see what you're saying though about having colitis along with the possibility of Xeljanz (tofacitinib) causing diarrhea as well. However the thing about these medications is that there's really no way to tell ahead of time how you might end up reacting to it until you "take it for a test drive" if you will. A lot of these side effects only occur in a smaller percentage of patients, but the risk factor is always going to be there while you're taking the medication. In such cases, my opinion would be to weigh out the benefits vs risks and see if...

After a stool test I was diagnosed with Entamoeba Coli Cysts. I was giving Fasigyn Tablets (Tinidazole) and Gabbroral (Aminosidine) to take because I was having severe diarrhea. I didn't take the tablets because my diarrhea stopped and I was no longer sick.. Should I still take it anyway to avoid this from happening again OR if it does happen again just take the tablets at that time??????? I am a little worried about taking the Gabbroral..side effects say it may cause anorexia ## Hello, Nicole! How are you doing? Yes, the condition may still need treated. Have you consulted your doctor, again? They'd be the best person to advise you in this matter. However, generally, such a condition doesn't clear up, without treatment, so it is likely to recur if you don't take the med...

My wife hast been suffering with Colitis and Hiatal hernia for some time The bleedind associated with it is troubling. ## I am assuming, with those conditions, that she is under regular doctor's care, and if so, they are monitoring the situation, and if it reaches a problem point, they will know how to treat it and what to do. So I would guess that as long as she keeps her doc visits, you can relax and while you will always worry, just keep supporting her and make sure she keeps her docs appointments, and worry a little less.

I have ulcerative colitis and ulcerative proctitis. I have not been able to establish remission for as long as I have been diagnosed which was 5 years ago. I am 66 years old. My dr gave me 20 mg of prednisone to settle it down. I have been taking it for 4 days now and in the evening I have a terrible gas and urgency to go to the bathroom for about 3 hours. Could it be a side effect of the prednisone? ## Hello, CB! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. Yes, Prednisone is a steroid, so it can cause such side effects, the FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, insomnia, fluid retention, acne and weight gain. Are you on any other medications?

I have been taking Humira now for over 10 years. I have experienced almost every side effect that has been mentioned here. The thing is this drug saved my life. I almost did not make it out of the hospital when Crohn's flared up. It was very touch and go. When I was released I met a great Rheumatologist and she suggested Humira. She explained to me my risk of cancer and other side effects but because steroids did not work for me I felt I had no choice. Glad I did. Dealing with side effects of drugs is not fun. Some have worse than others I feel for you. For me I fight through them as the alternative is not good. This drug is not for everyone and we all have to make our own choices so to all good luck. Both my colitis and AS are in remission with no flare ups since Humira. ## Thank y...

I have Ulcerative Colitis. Had a Migraine, took a Butal Caf and felt normal 1st time in 2 years! Ever heard of this? Also I have NO side effects from Butal. ## Hi Lainy, Based on my research, the combination of butalbital + acetaminophen + caffeine is intended as a treatment for tension headache. It is also commonly prescribed for migraines and other pain related ailments - although it is "not FDA indicated" for these uses in the U.S. On another note, the prescribing information for this drug recommends contacting your doctor before using this medication if you happen to have any abdominal/stomach problems (such as: stomach ulcer, colitis). From what I'm seeing, it's hard to say if those with colitis should even be taking this medication, but if you sense that it's w...

Started out taking Flagyl, 2000 mg in one day......did not work....cultured and e-coli infection....given 10 days of Cipro.....still have burning and pressure....At wits end....leaving in two days for vacation........I seem to get these quite often..had fishy smell, took bath and bang, next day burning..... ## Hello, Rosie! How are you? I am sorry that you're so sick. If you have a fishy odor coming from your genital area, then that likely denotes that you also have a vaginal bacterial infection. Thus, you might be treating one, while the other is still raging gout of control, because you might not be taking the right medication for it. Have you consulted your gynecologist? The fact that things are erupting after a bath also points to that possibility. Have you had any discharge? Do...

In the nearby future i can participate for a testcase in Belgium taking tofacitinib for CA. I only have to be stabil with 16mg medrol (corticoïds) to participate and that's just the problem. I hope I don't get a placebo wich is possible during the study. I hope I can help, not only myself but many others who has the same (agressive) desease. Is there nothing else wich can help my upcoming CA? I take colitofalk and cortisones, Imuran is not possible anymore after a high value of bloodinfection last year. Remikade has helped during a year but as shown in recent results a high amount of this medicinal product in my blood doesn't help me anymore.
