Meloxicam 7.5mg expired 10/13 is it ok to take. Thank you ## Hi Babe! Medications can b expired for years and still b safe 2 take. They may lose their potency, but r safe. ## @Babe, "Most" medications (aside from tetracycline) are still considered safe to take even up to 15 years beyond the expiration date. Is my morphine oral solution still safe to take it has been refrigerated since April 2013 ?thanks ## Hello, John! How are you? Most likely not, liquid medications tend to go bad, after the expire and could actually make you ill, if you try to take it. It would be best to dispose of it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

someone please tell me the shelf life of sulfamethoxazole when being stored in a cool place. I've had this since 10/2013 it's now 2016 Can I take this now????? ## Hello, Pamela! How are you? If it is in bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, it has an expiration date of one year, from the date you received it, because those bottles expose it to the elements that cause degradation. If it is in the original factory sealed bottle, then it is good for approximately 4 years, from the date you received it. If it is expired, it loses efficacy and could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria, so you should dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription, if an antibiotic is required. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, head...
