Opana With Saphris And Morphine
IF A DOCTOR PRESCRIBES A PATIENT OPANA AND MORPHINE, FOR CHRONIC PAIN, AND PRESCRIBES THEM SAPHRIS FOR BIPOLOR DISORDER, IS IT OK TO MIX THESE TOGETHER? IS IT A GOOD COMBINATION OR BAD? I KNOW SOMETIMES DIFFERENT PEOPLE REACT DIFFERENTLY TO MEDICATION, BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF ITS OK. ## The combination can have additive effects, which can increase the risk of psychomotor impairment and depression of the central nervous system, so your doctor does have to take the dosage under careful consideration. They should be monitoring you regularly for any problems and you should be made aware to watch for any problems, such as lowered heart rate and blood pressure, in case you need to seek medical attention. Are there any other questions or comments? ...

Can You Mix Morphine And Opanas Safely
These are both opiates, but is there any specific difficulties in mixing these two meds? ## There are actually interactions found between Morphine and Opana. Specifically related to the central nervous system: "Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. During concomitant use of these drugs, patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS and respiratory depression." Also to note, Morphine interacts with alcohol in a somewhat similar manner: "The central nervous system-depressant effects of morphine and alcohol may be additive. The combination may result in additive CNS-depression ... ...

How Much Morphine Is Opana 10 Mg equal to?
My Dr prescribed opana er 10 mg for pain. I was prescribed morphine sulfate er 60 mg and at one time was prescribed as much as 130 mg before i had surgery(gastric bypass which took a lot of pressure off of my back) and allowed me to lower my dosage. But since I've changed to Opana Er its just not enough for the pain. I don't sleep and if I do doze of I wake up from the pain. I'm desperate for help and think I need to be put back on morphine sulfate. My Gastric Dr instructed me to chew, crush or break my medications but with extended release you can't do that. Many pain management is almost greeting ready to send me to another state where they can treat me more efficiently. I can't afford to be going back and fourth to another state. I want to get my gastric Dr to app... ...

What Is The Difference In Opana And Morphine
just wanted to know if there is a difference between the 2. I am perscribed morphine sulfate er 15 mg twice daily. My neck has been operated on a few times so i have severe pain daily. I forgot my pills at home over the weekend. My mother is perscribed Opana 10mg. She gave me one and it seemed to work better. Wanted to know if there is a difference between the 2. I am not sure how to go about asking my dr to switch me. Don't want her to freak about my mom giving me one of hers... ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is actually stronger than Morphine. So, the one 10mg tablet that you took was actually equal to taking 30mgs of the Morphine, at once. They are both narcotics, so the side effect profile is similar and can include: nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and ... ...

is opana a mixture of morphine and oxycodone?
is opana a mixture of morphine and oxycodone? i know that it is oxymorphone, but i don't know what that is and i am allergic to morphine. ## No, Oxymorphone is a complete, separate compound, it does not contain Morphine or Oxycodone. However, it is distantly related to Morphine and there is a warning about it being used in patients who are sensitive to or allergic to Morphine. While it is rare, some can be allergic to this, as well. Has your doctor prescribed it or suggested using it? Are they aware of your allergy? Learn more: ## I'm allergic to Morphine and I take 4 40MG Opana ER a day.I've been taking them for 4 months now and no reactions. ## I need a new strong pain killer, not the gradual release kind. I've been taking 8mg. Of Hydromorphone 3x a day for 4yrs. My Pa... ...

How Do You Convert Opana 40mgs Into Morphine Sulphate 200mg
I ran out of Opana ER 40mg. I take 7 tabs at a time. That is 280mgs. I have Morphine Sulphate ER 200mg each. How do I do a conversion so I know how many Morphine Sulphate to take until I can get my script for Opana refilled? ## Wow! That's a very high dosage to be taking and I'm very sorry that you ran out. How did you run out? Is your doctor aware that you take that many at once? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I am just concerned, since that is such a large dosage and has the potential to be dangerous. Learn more Morphine details here. As to the conversion, Opana is stronger than Morphine, so you'd require 840mgs of the Morphine to be equal to the 280mgs of Opana, but it is a time released formulation, so you can't cut or split the tablets. And I also have t... ...

Oxycontin Vs Morphine
I was taking 4 80 mg oxys daily my doc put me on 2 100 mg teva morphines will it help the same and will i go through withdraw thank you ## There may be some issues here, because the Oxycodone is actually 1 and a half time stronger than the Morphine, so you'd need 120mgs of Morphine to equal each 80mg dose you were taking of the Oxycodone. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Learn more Morphine details here. Why did he change your medication? ## Pain Meds 101: For chronic pain management...the best result is almost always a long acting med (OxyCONTIN (currently no generic so $$$), Morphine Sulfate E/R extended release, Opana (not my particular fave), Fentanyl Patches and Exalgo). Only the latter are taken 1x per day..the others are SUPPOSED to be 12 hr meds to be taken 2x a day but mo... ...

SAPHRIS 10MG AND MORPHINE
Can a 60mg morphine pill be mixed with SAPHRIS 10MG SUBLINGUAL TABLET, I take two 10mg saphris tablets a day, normally at bedtime. I just want to know if it is safe or not. Please help me with this very important question. ## IF A DOCTOR PRESCRIBES YOU SAPHRIS, OPANA, AND MORPHINE ALL TOGETHER, DOES IT SEEM LIKE THIS IS A SAFE COMBINATION? ## The Asenapine in the Saphris can be used with narcotic analgesics, however, the dosage does have to be taken under careful considered by the prescribing doctor. They do tend to have additive effects, which can increase the risk of central nervous system depression, which can cause lowered blood pressure, lowered breathing rate and lowered blood pressure. Have you discussed this with your doctor? ## hey so there is such thing as a 60 miligram opana? ... ...

I was wondering I had a pill I know it was morhine. it was an oblong blue shape and color. I know that is alot of info I just need to knoww. So if you know any of it let me know. THANKS ## If the Morphine ER didn't work for you, then it makes sense that the MS Contin also didn't, because they are both time released Morphine tablets. Opana 60 Mg
what does an opana 60 mg look like ## There is 60mg Opana available on the U.S. market. Opana is a very potent narcotic that contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is only available in a maximum of 10mgs. Was it perhaps a different medication that you were thinking of? There are tablets of both Morphine and Oxycodone that are available in 60mg dosages. ## Opana is not available in a 60mg. pill. You would need to be prescribed 1-40mg., and 1-20mg., in order to be taking 60mg. of Opana. ...

morphine sulphate alterbnative
i am on morphine sulphate and oxycodone the oxy helps the morphine doesnt is there an alternative to morpine ## There are many other narcotic pain medications on the market. The one most commonly used to replace Morphine, since it is more powerful and requires a much lower dosage is Opana, which contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone. You would have to consult your doctor, though, on what is safe to use with the Oxycodone. Have you consulted your doctor? You can learn more on the medication here: It is also available in a time released version, called Opana ER. ## an there be a reaction if I take 30 mg morphine sulfate and have a few drinks ...

opana er 20mg ter
Contrast ms contin 100mg with opana er 20mg ter ## Well MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine. Opana ER contains Oxymorphone. The Oxymorphine is much more powerful and only requires a fraction of the dose that was being taken of the Morphine. Both are time released. They also share the same side effect profiles: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Ms Contin vs Opana
In my opinion Opana (OXYMORPHONE), is a much better drug than MSCONTIN. It works much more efficiently and is much, much stronger than MSCONTIN. I live with chronic pain MSCONTIN does nothing for it. My mother who is 88 said she rather take percocett. She had double knee replacement yrs ago which resulted in a failed surgery, I have a collaspe lumbar, so I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to pain medication. They should take mscontin out of the gold standard part, put it with the silver. ## Both the Oxymorphone in the Opana and the Oxycodone in the Percocet are known to be stronger and more potent than Morphine, so it makes sense that they may help some people more than Morphine does. However, what works well for any given person can differ, so that does have to be taken... ...

Percocet Vs Opana
I have Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes #2, Sciatica down both legs, Piriformis Syndrome, L4 L5 S1 Vertabre Fracture x2, Osteoarthritis in my spine, knees, thumbs, feet! Chronic numbness down my right leg, groin area that hurts like hell. I started out taking Darvocet and have worked my way up to Percocet 325/10 for the last 3 years. I was wondering IF Opana would work better? My doctor wanted to put me on Oxycotin, but of course my insurance won't pay for it, not even with a required PA! So according to Medicare Part D (which I have) they need a PA for Oxycotin, but not one for Opana! Oxycotin is considered a class 3 and Opana a class 2 drug! So is Opana as strong as Oxycotin? Are they both stronger than Percocet? I tried Morphine Sulfate 10 mgs about 3 years ago, and it did NO... ...

Opana Er questions
I have degenerative disc disease and have taken opana ir and er for a while. My doctor has changed me to morphine since opana has left the market temporarily. I do not like the morphine. Could someone out there recommend something comparable to opana er 40 and ir 20 ## Opana is actually back on the market, though still in limited quantities in some areas, so you may want to have your doctor's office check with your local pharmacies to see who has it in stock, so you can go back to it. It was actually just a temporary shortage, while they were reformulating the tablets to help prevent abuse. Are there any other questions or comments? ## The opana er with the new plastic coating does not work as it once did. It is very hard to digest. Why is so much plastic coating necessary...I am no... ...

Need to find an extended release drug with no acetominophen in it am allergic to morphine unable to fill opana are there any alternatives?
I need an extended relief med, I have Hep C so do not want any acetaminophen and all this info is coming from the pharmacist I need to find an alternative extended relief pain medication in lieu of morphine or anything with acetaminophen due to my Hep C liver condition; currently applying for disability and all of this is coming from the pharmacist not the actual doctor. ps I live in FL ## Hello, Beckie! How are you? There is a time released formulation of Oxycodone available that's called Oxycontin, which contains no Acetaminophen and there is also a time released pain patch available called Duragesic, which contains only the narcotic Fenantyl, so you may want to discuss these options with your doctor. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and ma... ...

opana er and vicoden
Hello, I am 32 yrs old and have been on opana er 2 daily with an average of 5 vicoden daily for breakthrough pain management for 2 years now. I have the option of undergoing back surgery but no one is very optomistic that it will provide satisfactory pain relief. I am not big on taking pills but they do provide adequate relief. I am concerned about long term organ damage due to the medication since I have my whole life ahead of me. My grandfather was perscibed morphine for his cancer and experienced severe organ damage within a couple of years so I am concerned about taking drugs for rest of my life, especially since what I have read indicates that tolerances will build and doses will inevitably increase with time. Thanks everybody for your time, Ken. ## There is always the risk of orga... ...

Has anyone been on Opana?
My dr is giving me the choice to try Opana and I would like to know if anyone has tried it and what your experience has been. I have a male friend who tried it and said it did absolutely nothing for him. Karel ## Since this is a narcotic, a synthesized morphine compound, how well it works would depend upon the dosage prescribed and the tolerance that the patient has built up to narcotics. The Extended Release form would cause fewer side effects than the instant or regular release, since it slowly releases the dose over a certain time period for better pain control. To find a dosage that works for you, be it this med or some other, is purely a trial and error system between you and your doctor. You would need to try the first prescribed amount for a few weeks, and if that didn't get ... ...

MSContin conversion to Opana
Does anyone know the conversion dose when switching from MSContin 15mg to Opana. The MS no longer works to take the edge off the pain. I have had chronic pain after herniated cervical, lumbar disks, 4 surgeries, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and daytime sleepiness, and osteo-arthritis. I also took 10mg. of morphine IR for breakthrough pain. Now I will take Opana IR. ## Your doctor or pharmacist should handle the conversion of the dosing for you. Has your doctor prescribed it already or made any recommendations? ## You said you have fybromialgia may I ask how long you have had that, I take MS Contin, nerontin, and a few others, but I have never heard of opana. does it work, I have FM and have had it for 3 years. ## I was on Opana before MS Contin and is was not as effective, very hard to ... ...
