Opana With Saphris And Morphine
IF A DOCTOR PRESCRIBES A PATIENT OPANA AND MORPHINE, FOR CHRONIC PAIN, AND PRESCRIBES THEM SAPHRIS FOR BIPOLOR DISORDER, IS IT OK TO MIX THESE TOGETHER? IS IT A GOOD COMBINATION OR BAD? I KNOW SOMETIMES DIFFERENT PEOPLE REACT DIFFERENTLY TO MEDICATION, BUT I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF ITS OK. ## The combination can have additive effects, which can increase the risk of psychomotor impairment and depression of the central nervous system, so your doctor does have to take the dosage under careful consideration. They should be monitoring you regularly for any problems and you should be made aware to watch for any problems, such as lowered heart rate and blood pressure, in case you need to seek medical attention. Are there any other questions or comments? ...

kadian morphine
For my chronic pain, kadian lyrica and diazapham, work great. I function and I am slowly getting my life and happiness back. I can't take hydro morph or oxy as I get very ill from them, finding the right DR makes the biggest difference. ## I am in the Saskatchewan area, I'm now finding that, it's not working like the first few days, Dr increased to 3 a day, I get very ill with alot of the other pain medications so myooptions are limited, if any one could help me I'd be greatful The ## Melanie, I have a very close friend that went from Opana to Kadian. He had a adjustment period where the dosage was lowered and raised to find the amount that works on a continuous basis for him. Most of that change was during the first month, then he hit the right dosage and has leveled ou... ...

Can You Mix Morphine And Opanas Safely
These are both opiates, but is there any specific difficulties in mixing these two meds? ## There are actually interactions found between Morphine and Opana. Specifically related to the central nervous system: "Central nervous system- and/or respiratory-depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients. During concomitant use of these drugs, patients should be monitored for potentially excessive or prolonged CNS and respiratory depression." Also to note, Morphine interacts with alcohol in a somewhat similar manner: "The central nervous system-depressant effects of morphine and alcohol may be additive. The combination may result in additive CNS-depression ... ...

How Much Morphine Is Opana 10 Mg equal to?
My Dr prescribed opana er 10 mg for pain. I was prescribed morphine sulfate er 60 mg and at one time was prescribed as much as 130 mg before i had surgery(gastric bypass which took a lot of pressure off of my back) and allowed me to lower my dosage. But since I've changed to Opana Er its just not enough for the pain. I don't sleep and if I do doze of I wake up from the pain. I'm desperate for help and think I need to be put back on morphine sulfate. My Gastric Dr instructed me to chew, crush or break my medications but with extended release you can't do that. Many pain management is almost greeting ready to send me to another state where they can treat me more efficiently. I can't afford to be going back and fourth to another state. I want to get my gastric Dr to app... ...

is opana a mixture of morphine and oxycodone?
is opana a mixture of morphine and oxycodone? i know that it is oxymorphone, but i don't know what that is and i am allergic to morphine. ## No, Oxymorphone is a complete, separate compound, it does not contain Morphine or Oxycodone. However, it is distantly related to Morphine and there is a warning about it being used in patients who are sensitive to or allergic to Morphine. While it is rare, some can be allergic to this, as well. Has your doctor prescribed it or suggested using it? Are they aware of your allergy? Learn more: ## I'm allergic to Morphine and I take 4 40MG Opana ER a day.I've been taking them for 4 months now and no reactions. ## I need a new strong pain killer, not the gradual release kind. I've been taking 8mg. Of Hydromorphone 3x a day for 4yrs. My Pa... ...

What Is The Difference In Opana And Morphine
just wanted to know if there is a difference between the 2. I am perscribed morphine sulfate er 15 mg twice daily. My neck has been operated on a few times so i have severe pain daily. I forgot my pills at home over the weekend. My mother is perscribed Opana 10mg. She gave me one and it seemed to work better. Wanted to know if there is a difference between the 2. I am not sure how to go about asking my dr to switch me. Don't want her to freak about my mom giving me one of hers... ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is actually stronger than Morphine. So, the one 10mg tablet that you took was actually equal to taking 30mgs of the Morphine, at once. They are both narcotics, so the side effect profile is similar and can include: nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and ... ...

Oxycontin Vs Morphine
I was taking 4 80 mg oxys daily my doc put me on 2 100 mg teva morphines will it help the same and will i go through withdraw thank you ## There may be some issues here, because the Oxycodone is actually 1 and a half time stronger than the Morphine, so you'd need 120mgs of Morphine to equal each 80mg dose you were taking of the Oxycodone. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Learn more Morphine details here. Why did he change your medication? ## Pain Meds 101: For chronic pain management...the best result is almost always a long acting med (OxyCONTIN (currently no generic so $$$), Morphine Sulfate E/R extended release, Opana (not my particular fave), Fentanyl Patches and Exalgo). Only the latter are taken 1x per day..the others are SUPPOSED to be 12 hr meds to be taken 2x a day but mo... ...

SAPHRIS 10MG AND MORPHINE
Can a 60mg morphine pill be mixed with SAPHRIS 10MG SUBLINGUAL TABLET, I take two 10mg saphris tablets a day, normally at bedtime. I just want to know if it is safe or not. Please help me with this very important question. ## IF A DOCTOR PRESCRIBES YOU SAPHRIS, OPANA, AND MORPHINE ALL TOGETHER, DOES IT SEEM LIKE THIS IS A SAFE COMBINATION? ## The Asenapine in the Saphris can be used with narcotic analgesics, however, the dosage does have to be taken under careful considered by the prescribing doctor. They do tend to have additive effects, which can increase the risk of central nervous system depression, which can cause lowered blood pressure, lowered breathing rate and lowered blood pressure. Have you discussed this with your doctor? ## hey so there is such thing as a 60 miligram opana? ... ...

How Do You Convert Opana 40mgs Into Morphine Sulphate 200mg
I ran out of Opana ER 40mg. I take 7 tabs at a time. That is 280mgs. I have Morphine Sulphate ER 200mg each. How do I do a conversion so I know how many Morphine Sulphate to take until I can get my script for Opana refilled? ## Wow! That's a very high dosage to be taking and I'm very sorry that you ran out. How did you run out? Is your doctor aware that you take that many at once? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, I am just concerned, since that is such a large dosage and has the potential to be dangerous. Learn more Morphine details here. As to the conversion, Opana is stronger than Morphine, so you'd require 840mgs of the Morphine to be equal to the 280mgs of Opana, but it is a time released formulation, so you can't cut or split the tablets. And I also have t... ...

morphine 2oo mg oblong blue
I was wondering I had a pill I know it was morhine. it was an oblong blue shape and color. It has been awhile I'm a chronic pain patient and I cannot take the newoxy op's I took 80mg 3x a day for along time. If any body knows the difference between just the regular morphine and the er opana ect. let me know the ms-contin did not work at all. Also the hydromorphone what is the differences in those meds? I know that is alot of info I just need to knoww. So if you know any of it let me know. THANKS ## If the Morphine ER didn't work for you, then it makes sense that the MS Contin also didn't, because they are both time released Morphine tablets. Opana contains a different narcotic, it is called Hydromorphone, it is very powerful and has helped many people with chronic pain i... ...

morphine sulphate alterbnative
i am on morphine sulphate and oxycodone the oxy helps the morphine doesnt is there an alternative to morpine ## There are many other narcotic pain medications on the market. The one most commonly used to replace Morphine, since it is more powerful and requires a much lower dosage is Opana, which contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone. You would have to consult your doctor, though, on what is safe to use with the Oxycodone. Have you consulted your doctor? You can learn more on the medication here: It is also available in a time released version, called Opana ER. ## an there be a reaction if I take 30 mg morphine sulfate and have a few drinks ...

Ms Contin vs Opana
In my opinion Opana (OXYMORPHONE), is a much better drug than MSCONTIN. It works much more efficiently and is much, much stronger than MSCONTIN. I live with chronic pain MSCONTIN does nothing for it. My mother who is 88 said she rather take percocett. She had double knee replacement yrs ago which resulted in a failed surgery, I have a collaspe lumbar, so I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to pain medication. They should take mscontin out of the gold standard part, put it with the silver. ## Both the Oxymorphone in the Opana and the Oxycodone in the Percocet are known to be stronger and more potent than Morphine, so it makes sense that they may help some people more than Morphine does. However, what works well for any given person can differ, so that does have to be taken... ...

Opana 60 Mg
what does an opana 60 mg look like ## There is 60mg Opana available on the U.S. market. Opana is a very potent narcotic that contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is only available in a maximum of 10mgs. Was it perhaps a different medication that you were thinking of? There are tablets of both Morphine and Oxycodone that are available in 60mg dosages. ## Opana is not available in a 60mg. pill. You would need to be prescribed 1-40mg., and 1-20mg., in order to be taking 60mg. of Opana. ...

Need to find an extended release drug with no acetominophen in it am allergic to morphine unable to fill opana are there any alternatives?
I need an extended relief med, I have Hep C so do not want any acetaminophen and all this info is coming from the pharmacist I need to find an alternative extended relief pain medication in lieu of morphine or anything with acetaminophen due to my Hep C liver condition; currently applying for disability and all of this is coming from the pharmacist not the actual doctor. ps I live in FL ## Hello, Beckie! How are you? There is a time released formulation of Oxycodone available that's called Oxycontin, which contains no Acetaminophen and there is also a time released pain patch available called Duragesic, which contains only the narcotic Fenantyl, so you may want to discuss these options with your doctor. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and ma... ...

MSContin conversion to Opana
Does anyone know the conversion dose when switching from MSContin 15mg to Opana. The MS no longer works to take the edge off the pain. I have had chronic pain after herniated cervical, lumbar disks, 4 surgeries, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and daytime sleepiness, and osteo-arthritis. I also took 10mg. of morphine IR for breakthrough pain. Now I will take Opana IR. ## Your doctor or pharmacist should handle the conversion of the dosing for you. Has your doctor prescribed it already or made any recommendations? ## You said you have fybromialgia may I ask how long you have had that, I take MS Contin, nerontin, and a few others, but I have never heard of opana. does it work, I have FM and have had it for 3 years. ## I was on Opana before MS Contin and is was not as effective, very hard to ... ...

MScontin vs. Opana which is best?
I need to switch to one of these meds, Opana isn't covered on my insurance, the MS is, are they the same or is one better than the other? ## No, they do not contain the same medication, MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine and Opana contains Oxymorphone. The Opana is a much stronger medication, for instance, just 6.67mgs of it is equal to a 40mg dosage of the Ms Contin, so you have to take much less of it. However, since there is no generic, it is also much more expensive and since you can get a dosage in the Morphine that may help, you may find it makes more sense to go with the one that your insurance will cover, even though the dosage will have to be higher. Are there any questions or comments? ## I have been taking MS Contin 30 mg 3 time daily and have been cut to 3... ...

Opana - Is it really Non-Addictive?
If Opana was designed to be non-addictive, how did my granddaughter become addicted to it; or did she? She is now in jail and says this is the drug she has been taking and paying $40.00 a pill for. ## Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and I'm not aware of anything stating it was designed to be non-addictive, the possibility of being habit forming and abused is actually prominently warned about it the drug information monographs about it. It is an opiate narcotic, therefore, it carries the same addictive risk as all the others do, such as Oxycodone and Morphine. IT HAS THE SAME THING IN IT AS DILAUDID IT'S NOT EXCATLY THE SAME BUT CLOSE THEY BOTH HAVE HYDROMORPHONE IN THEM CALL ... ...

opana er 20mg ter
Contrast ms contin 100mg with opana er 20mg ter ## Well MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine. Opana ER contains Oxymorphone. They also share the same side effect profiles: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Percocet Vs Opana
I have Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes #2, Sciatica down both legs, Piriformis Syndrome, L4 L5 S1 Vertabre Fracture x2, Osteoarthritis in my spine, knees, thumbs, feet! Chronic numbness down my right leg, groin area that hurts like hell. I started out taking Darvocet and have worked my way up to Percocet 325/10 for the last 3 years. I was wondering IF Opana would work better? My doctor wanted to put me on Oxycotin, but of course my insurance won't pay for it, not even with a required PA! So according to Medicare Part D (which I have) they need a PA for Oxycotin, but not one for Opana! Oxycotin is considered a class 3 and Opana a class 2 drug! So is Opana as strong as Oxycotin? Are they both stronger than Percocet? I tried Morphine Sulfate 10 mgs about 3 years ago, and it did NO... ...
