Dexamethasone Dosage

I have to take this med for 9 days. My first dose is three tabs of 4 mg for a total of 12 mg. Is this normal? ## Yes, this is a steroid and they are commonly used this way, started with a large dose, to get a boost of it in your body to treat the condition in question, then slowly tapered over a certain time period. Because these are all prescribed drugs, the doctor who is prescribing them to you should be aware of anything else you are taking alongside them. It is available in the U.S., by prescription only, in several dosages, in both generic and name brand formulations, so you would have to see a doctor to get a prescription for it and then purchase them from a pharmacy. I have heard that some hospitals aerosolize decadron to treat asthma. I am trying to get information on the preparation that would be used and sge-specific dosages to use. ## Beth, From what you are describing, it sounds like the preparation which applies is called Decadron Turbinaire / Decadron Respihaler. Those administer Dexamethasone in an inhalant format. I want to find Rumoquin NF. It' a purple round pill. Where do I have to go to get a prescription? Also can it be delivered to the United States? ## Rumoquin contains the active ingredients Dexamethasone and Methocarbamol. This combines a steroid with a muscle relaxant to treat pain and swelling. As to where you can order it, I am not certain. Have you tried just doing an interent search? As to delivering it to the states, it is possible, however, since these medications are available in the U.S., thought not in a combine form, it is actually illegal to do so. They only permit the importation of medications that do not have an equivelent available here. I feel a burning sensation &swelling on my hands, and just pain on my feet. I believe Rumoquin N.F. was given to me by a doctor in Mexico.
