I have been taking 400 MG No problems, been feeling fine. When I renewed these pills, they are somewhat different. Instead of one red pill, it comes in a clear capsule 4 pieces of the pill in 1 capsule. Shortly after taking these pills I have been having problems. Stomach pains, nausea, cramps. Been going on for a few weeks now. Any suggestions?? ## I also have not agreed with the new capsules. I feel like they are better than nothing at all but not doing their job in comparison to the last formulation. I wonder if we can open them up and take the small capsules... ## @Don, Sorry to hear about your experience with this new refill. I'm assuming it's probably from a different manufacturer with different binders and fillers that could be to blame... However, it's important to n...

I take Delzicol 400 MG, 3 tablets, 3 times a day. Even though the instructions say I should take it on an empty stomach, can anyone tell me if I can take it with food too? If on an empty stomach should I take it before or after I eat? ## Hello, Don! How are you? This medication is manufactured by Allergan and on the website for it, they actually state that it can be taken with, or without food. Thus, you should be able to take it whichever way it works best for you. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, stomach ache, and belching. Is there anything else I can help with?

Delzicol replaced Asacol as a treatment for llceratilve colitis last month. The change meant my co-pay for a month's prescription rose from $33 to $93. No one has been able to explain to me why my costs tripled for a medication that is essentially the same. Do others face ths problem? What are people doing about it? ## I am a Medicare subscriber who lives in Cambridge, Mass. I have supplemental health insurance through a Tufts Health Plan Medicare Preferred program. I suffer from ulcerative colitis which I can keep from flaring up by taking daily doses of mesalamine. For many years the mesalamine I've been prescribed has come frm Warner Chilcott under the brand name Asacol. Warner's patent on Asacol will expire this year, and the company has stopped offering it. Instead, it ...

I never had any issues with Asacol but ever since Asacol was put into a capsule, first the purple capsule and now the smaller pills in a clear capsule, which is now called Delzicol, I get severe indigestion, gas, have trouble sleeping, and generally don't feel well. Can this be due to the capsule? Before they changed to the 4 smaller pills in the capsule I had started removing the larger pill from the purple capsule and Immediately started feeling better. I recently started with the newer version of 4 smaller pills in a capsul and the symptoms have returned. Do others have issues with the capsule? Is there another medicine for UC that isn't in a capsule? ## Still having issues. Switched to Lialda because side effects from Delzicol, severe reflux, burning in the throat, probably ...
