how can I get my doctor to prescribe 160 mg oxycontin? ## There are no 160mg Oxycontin tablets, the maximum available is 80mgs, so you could only total 160mgs in a day, taking them every 12 hours. And, unless you have a possibly terminal condition that causes intractable pain, such as stage 4 cancer, it is highly unlikely that any doctor will prescribe the maximum dosage, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness, headache and constipation. What dosage do you currently take? ## YES there IS 160mg Oxycontin! LOL

I've been taking oxycontin 30mg with oc on them - this time i got oxycontin 30 with op on them and they seem to make me sick. What is the difference? ## Oxycontin OP is brand new to the market and is replacing the regular Oxycontin. The only difference is that the Oxycontin OP has been specially formulated to help prevent abuse. Even if someone tries to crush or chew it, it will retain its time released properties. Otherwise, it works the same and has the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am not certain why it would be making you sick, as compared to the other ones, have you tried contacting your doctor or pharmacist about it? ## the new pill u are now getting is a new formula of the old oc and is supposed to be tamper proof so people cant abuse th...

I have been taking 10 mg of oxycontin at night, but I hate extended release medication so I am switching to 10 mg Oxycodone. I am concerned I will have withdrawals. If there’s only 10 mg of the medication in both formulas, the only difference should be that the instant release wear off faster, right? ## Yes, exactly, the Oxycontin is just a time released formulation of Oxycodone, so there shouldn't be a huge difference from switching. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth Are you on any other medications? ## Lol yeah, but I have been going to pain management since 2017 so I have a doctor dealing with all that. I pulled a good one. My RXs were not in sync; one for extended release one week and the other immediate release the next. So I'm out waiting and going through hell. All because I let my pharmacy only give me enough for 3 weeks. Now they say they can't give me the ones they kept. I really didn't know it was going to be that way. Has anyone ever had this happen? ## Yes, that is normal pharmacy policy for controlled substances. You'll need a new prescription from your doctor to get the rest, or to wait until your next fill time. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am currently on oxycontin 80mg 3x day Am trying to cut down slightly and change to ms contin. What mgs would I be looking at in the ms contin to be at a similar amount to what i am currently taking of the oxycontin? ## Hello, JayJay18! How are you? Oxycontin 80 or 110mg is better than oxa forte or it's the same. ## Hello, Karl! How are you? Oxa Forte contains Diclofenac with Codeine, so it is actually much weaker than the Oxycodone in the Oxycontin.
