Chiari 1 Malformation

I have Chiari Malformation - A brain condition that has my cerebellum going into my brain stem (my brain is too big for my head so it slightly seeps out my skull). I get continuous migraines and nerve pain I also have ADHD combined and Bipolar 2 I am currently on Vyvanse 30 x1 (adhd), Lamictal 100 x2 (bipolar), Gabapentin 100 x2 (nerve pain). I have never been on a nerve pain medication that has helped me out so much. My problem is, when I combine it with the Vyvanse, there is agitation and I tend to go manic for the day and crash at night with a lot of anxiety. When on Vyvanse with just the Lamictal x2 and Gabapentin at night, I feel a lot better, but I'm still cycling fast. Also, ever since starting the Lamictal I am cycling faster. I have a meeting with the psychiatrist on campus...

After a brain & spine surgery a 1.5yr. ago (forever living w/ Chiari Malformation & related conditions, permanent damage, more surgery) I've been on 30mg. Morphine ER & Tramadol for breakthrough....but... (30mg. Morphine ER 2x's per day, a 15mg. Morphine midday and 2-4 Tramadol for breakthrough when needed...try to keep that very limited) my condition comes w/ headaches. Common. But they have been a bit more than expected-even w/ my sumatriptan, etc. Daily, a nagging heavy headache - not always a migraine / the Chiari h/a I know so well. However, it dawned on me that when in ICU, in a hospital stay recently for kidney stones (after last surgery especially, brain & spine) the nurses & Dr's realized that when they gave me the morphine (IV, not oral obviousl...

This particular b vitamin stands alone for its ability to support adrenal exhaustion/ dysfunction. Along with choline and mannitol, it makes my chiari 1 malformation with partially empty sella tolerable. ## Thanks for posting this information, I am sure it will be helpful to many other people with similar health conditions. Dexpanthenol is also commonly known as Vitamin B5. More information can be found here: Are there any comments or questions?

Hi i am 29 years old I am suffering from Chiari I Malformation My doctor prescribed me the Duloxetine drug, i am taking this since last 7 months i just want to know, is it harmful if i take for a year & which side effects i will be face ? ## You should take the medication as prescribed by your doctor. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight changes. Are you on any other medications, or just this one? ## I take 60 mg. Duloxetine 1x day. I accidently took 2- 60mg. instead of taking just one. Is there any danger?

I suffer with fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease in my neck and lower back, sinal stenosis, in my neck and lower back. I have also have a severe brain condition called Arnold chiari malformation. I was on pain meds til recently, when my doctor told me he was taking me off everything due to new laws. I suffer everyday all day and night. I cannot seem to find help. I dont know how much more, i can deal with. I feel its hopeless.

Back in the hospital and the doctors are having a hard time finding an IV medication that will help lessen the chest pain from my pneumonia. I wear Fentanyl 75 mcg (changed every 72 hrs). Health issues; crps/rsd, ankylosing spondylitis, Arnold Chiari Malformation, Pudenal Neuralgia, are just the top my health issues. ## Hi Loveday, I don't know how much help this will be, but I was able to find a pretty extensive list of medications starting with "P". Perhaps one of the names on there might ring a bell?: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/drug_Pa.html If anyone else can post back with more information on other possibilities that would be great!

I am currently prescribed Belbuca 150 mcg/every 6 hrs. with Tramadol 50 mg. for break-through pain due to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome/Chiari Malformation/Degenerative Disc Disease. My PCP does random urine screens (unannounced) periodically. Last February I had to stop the Butrans Patch due to severe skin blistering/chemical type burns caused by the patch medium, hence the change to Belbuca. I am also prescribed Movantik for OIC and take it as prescribed every morning. I am now showing "positive" for Naloxone/Suboxone on my urine screens and am being treated like I'm an addict -- even though the report from the lab states "patients taking Movantik (a pegylated derivative of naloxone) have been associated with positives on this test". I'm not taking any illicit drugs -...
