Butrans Patches number 10s

I'm on my 5th week of the 10mg patches. I have no side effects, But it doesn't take my back pain away. It does help. I was on 30mg oxycodone 4 times a day. It did take the pain away. But I lost 35 lb and I didn't have 35lb to lose. I looked like a scare crow. I couldn't eat. I told the pain Dr. to get me off the Oxy. He gave me methadone to get off. It took a month. I go back to the pain Dr Tues. I want to try the Butrans 20. I hate to see the cost. I paid $239.00 for the 10s. ## Hello, Dal! How are you? Have you considered trying the Fentanyl patch? It is a much stronger analgesic and is available as a generic, so it's much cheaper. Learn more Fentanyl details here. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects,......

butrans patch with suboxone for pain, ran out of suboxone will I withdraw?

I went to a Pain a Management Specialist for the fist time. I had been seeing a family doctor that was prescribing suboxone for pain. I have Interstitial cystitis, fibromyalgia, chronic migraine, episodic cluster headaches, just to name a few. I have been desperate for months in pain. Trying every nonnarcotic medicine possible, the suboxone, even at 3 8mg-2mg wasn't touching my pain. My doctor told me I needed to get to a pains specialist, he, I believe just wanted the $250.00 cash for prescribing suboxone! In my desperation I had been taking 4 a day, I know the ceiling is 32mgs. The pain doc put me on Butrans 10mcg/hr patch and told me I could take my suboxone with it if needed. I have needed the suboxone 2 or 3 a day. I forgot during my visit with my pain specialist, to,tell him t......

Butrans patch not staying in place

Hi, I recently started Butrans patch which seems to be helping except I can't get it to stay on properly even with the tagaderm covers. First off under my armpit was not good, so I tried the other side and the same thing they wrinkle. The left upper chest worked great when it was time for the right it was different couldn't get it to stay on flat. Could it be that it's hot and I move around a lot so I sweat idk. I just want it to lie flat and stay put like the first 2 times I applied it. Any suggestions? ## Yes, sweating or the excess skin oil that can occur due to heat may be contributing to the problem. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, d......

Butrans patch not working!

Doc just switched me from fentanyl 50 mcg every 3 days to Butrans 15mcg every 7 days and I am now getting no pain relief and am suffering from extremely bad headaches. The reason I asked to be switched in the first place was because the fentanyl was causing very bad night sweats. The butrans is doing the same along with the headaches. Is there a pill I can ask for that will give me the pain relief of the fentanyl without the terrible night sweats. Also the fentanyl was only working for 2 days instead of 3 and I had problems with them falling off. Any help would be appreciated. ## Hello, BRod! How are you? Fentanyl is the strongest opiate available, so you went from that to something weaker, which explains why the Butrans isn't helping your pain. There's really nothing else compa......

Butrans Patches & Itching

I've been on the Butrans patches now for 2 months. I started on 5mg & now I'm on 20mg. I also have Amitriptyline 10mg per day which eventually will go up to 50mg... I also have Tramadol when needed... I was put on Gabapentin but they made me too dopey & they was not good for my Epilepsy either. I felt really ill off them. I suffer from nerve pain as well as stiffness and the Butrans helps with the stiffness; they don't take the major pain away but they do help... I just wish I could stop itching, it's driving me nuts. So if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. TY. ## Try using a cold pack - relieves the itching (for me, at least) instantly ## What type of itching are you experiencing? As in, is it localized to the area of the patch, or is all over your......

Butrans Patches not working

I have been on 15 mcgs patches for 5 weeks and they don't seem to work anymore. I have a vascular leg ulcer which is taking ages to heal but the breakthrough pain is horrendous. I'm getting no sleep at all. My GP took me off tramadol and codeine to try these but the pain is unbearable. I've tried cocodamol (over the counter dosage) and naproxen but it doesn't help at all. ## Unfortunately, this medication does not work for everyone to alleviate pain. The U.S. FDA does warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Have you ever tried any other more potent opiates, such as Oxycodone or Morphine? ## I was taken off tramadol and OxyCodone and put on these patches. They told m......

BUTRANS PATCHES

i cant afford my patches is there a way to get help LIKE A DISCOUNT OR ANYTHING ## On the lower right side of each page of this website is a printable discount card that you can try using. There is no registration or qualifying required, you just print it and it provides discounts or rebates at many pharmacies. So that's something you may want to look into. Learn more Butrans details here. Additionally, there is a savings card that your doctor can print for you to use from their website, butrans.com. But as I said, a physician has to sign up for it and print it for their patients. Does anyone else have any ideas? ## I was told by my pain doc's nurse practicioner(spelled wrong) that if you get your doc to call your insurance co. it might help with the cost some if he tells them h......

Butrans patch

I read the reviews and I question if they were written by the manufacturer. I was on Butrans. Started on 10 mg and was eventually switched to 20 mg. When I was switched to 20, at least noticed it did something. I was miserable. I had been on hydrocodone and Opana and I was switched to Butrans by pain management dr. I kept begging to be switched back to anything I had been on because Butrans just didn't cut into the pain. I was not given anything for breakthrough pain (I have switched doctors since). Anyway, it was very mild and had serious side effect of depression and I believe some weight gain. Would not recommend it to anyone in chronic severe pain. Had same problem as others in that it does not last for 7 days. I changed doctors and was put on combo of Oxycontin, Nucynta and Tra......

butrans 5mg patch vs hydrocodone 10/325 for pain

Im having an awful time with migraines. No triptans work so I'm on narcotics for chronic pain. Currently taking hydrocodone 10/325 twice a day but its not helping much anymore. Pain mgnmt dr prescribed Butrans 5mg patch. Its not covered by my insurance so I wanted to know if its better for pain than the current hydro I'm on before spending $170 on a mths supply. Any info is appreciated. Tired of this chronic pain! ## ask your Dr if he can appeal the insurance Co's decision. He might be able to get them to OK it. I take Butrans 15 for severe neck pain. I love the fact the one patch lasts a week and there is no ups and down in the pain relief. ## Hello, Sharon! Sorry about the migraines. The only way to know if it will help you is by actually trying it. What you might want to ......
