Can You Take More Than 15mg A Day Of Meloxicam

Dr has put me on Meloxicam for the arthritis in my hands and shoulders, ever sense I have been on it I have had a low grade headache. It seems to work well having reduced the pain in my hands but this headache is something I don't want to live with. Is a headache a common side affect of this drug. My doc seems to think it will go away in time. ## I started this drug. 15mg. Two hours after taking this I experience numbness of my upper lip and side of my nose. Should I stop taking this drug. My primary dr said take one 15mg meloxicam a day. Went to the orthropedic dr. and since my pain is unbearable at night, he told me I could take two 15mg meloxicam a day. Who do I believe? ## The usual maximum dose is 15mgs daily, according to FDA reports. I was wondering if I can take 1 15 mg in morning and later in day take half of another one..seems to be what helps the most?? ## Hello, Bradon! How are you? How often can it be taken? My RX says once a day. I've been prescribed 15mg of Meloxicam tablets and take it every morning after breakfast but I've run out. Can I take 2x 7.5mg tablets instead? I started taking meloxicam 15mg and asked my pharmacist if I can cut it in half because the full 15mg was giving me a side effect of shortness of breath. Can meloxicam 15mg once a day be taken with tramadol 50mg? ## Hi noelle.....yes, tramadol and Meloxicam can be taken together. Meloxicam is a NSAID and tramadol is an analgesic pain med. You are safe.....I took both of those meds at one time but Meloxicam does not help me at all. Starting taking this medicine 3 months ago and for the past 3 weeks I have had severe stomach pain and cramps. Also, unable to eat much. I have lost 10 Lbs and fatigued all the time. Meloxicam 15MG TAB (mee-LOX-i-kam) ## Hi, I know this is possibly the wrong thing to to, so this is certainly not meant as advice, just what I do. Both my partner and father also have bad knees. When my knees start playing up, I take 2 x 15mg so 30mg in total every day I am in pain / discomfort and always have done. It helps pain and allows me to have a better range of movement to manipulate if back in to the position it should be in order to be able to walk again.
