I was wondering if I can take 1 15 mg in morning and later in day take half of another one..seems to be what helps the most?? ## Hello, Bradon! How are you? I took 15 mg of meloxicam 17 hours ago for arthritis in my knee it now very painful and swollen can I take one Motrin now ## Hello, Teri! How are you? No, you shouldn't take Motrin with the Mobic, because they are both nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories that treat the same conditions and, as listed by the FDA, they could cause some serious side effects, such as stomach ulceration, liver damage, liver failure and increased risk of bleeding. If the Meloxicam isn't helping, it would be best to consult your doctor to see what your other options might be. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you Verwon for your response. I have an appointment next week with my doctor and I will ask him what other alternatives there is.

I started taking meloxicam 15mg and asked my pharmacist if I can cut it in half because the full 15mg was giving me a side effect of shortness of breath. I been taking half of it for a week now and have no side effects but my back is still in pain. Should I try taking the full 15mg or cut a half of a half in half and take a third of the pill for a week and then start taking the full dose ## Hi anna, With all due respect, these are very personal dosing questions you're asking that are probably best discussed between you and your doctor. However from what I understand, due to safety reasons, it is usually a good idea to start off small and then work your way up to higher doses from there. Some people can make that decision incrementally based off how they feel, but I find that even th...

I've taken 15mg of meloxicam for years for joint pain. I can tell a big difference when I have to stop taking it for medical procedures. Is there a risk in use for years and is it addictive? My doctors office called today to reduce to 7.5mg daily. ## Hello, PB! How are you? The FDA classifies this medication as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so no, it's not addictive in the same sense that an opiate can be, but your body does get used to anything you take on a regular basis for a long period of time and suddenly stopping it will be noticeable and may result in some minor withdrawal effects, such as aches, pain, headaches and diarrhea. As to risks with long-term use, yes, there are some, such as stomach ulceration and liver damage, or failure. Is there anything else I can help...

Meloxicam 15MG TAB (mee-LOX-i-kam) ## Hi, I know this is possibly the wrong thing to to, so this is certainly not meant as advice, just what I do. Both my partner and father also have bad knees.
